It was a few days after the hit on gucci gang had gone down, and Jumper was humming to herself as she made her way back to the spawn nether portal. She had just finished a trade with 4C for a few stacks of cherry wood and was now on her way back to her own base.
Jumper stepped through the portal into the nether and looked around, gathering her bearings as she figured out which way she needed to go to get back to her base. She found the right direction and set off on her way.
Around halfway there however, Jumper began to feel like she was being watched. She froze, quickly pulling her sword from her inventory as she glanced all around her, scanning the nether for the source of the eyes she could feel on the back of her head. She didn’t see anything though, not even a piglin, so she hesitantly put away the sword and turned back to the path she had memorized, still keeping her wits about her and cautiously watching her back as she continued.
The feeling refused to go away, the eyes still glued to the back of her head and making Jumper feel more and more paranoid as time went on. She began jumping at every little sound, whipping her head towards every small movement she spotted out of the corner of her eye, but she only ever saw wandering piglins and skeletons, as well as one lone enderman that scared her enough to jump about two blocks in the air when it teleported near her.
Jumper was around 100 blocks from her portal when it finally happened. She was just exiting one of the many netherack tunnels she had to pass through on the journey back from spawn when all of a sudden she felt an arrow embed itself in her shoulder. Jumper let out a loud scream of pain and surprise, falling to the ground as she clutched at her shoulder, feeling blood already soaking through her shirt from the wound.
She glanced around wildly, searching for whoever it was who had shot her, and her eyes finally landed on the no longer hidden form of Bacon off to her right, who had a steeled and furious expression and a bow in his hands that he was already knocking another arrow into. Jumper’s eyes widened as she scrambled to her feet and took off, still clutching her injured shoulder tightly as she made a mad dash in the direction of her portal, which could just be made out in the distance.
Her mind was racing and her breathing was panicked as she ran, dodging arrows that flew past her as she ran through the hellish landscape. Then, when she was not even 30 blocks from the portal, an arrow finally hit its mark, burying itself in her calf and making Jumper collapse to the floor again, skidding across the netherack before sliding to a stop at the foot of a hill and curling up into a ball, letting out small sobs of pain and attempting to shield herself from any more arrows.
The sound of two sets of footsteps echoed as Bacon stalked towards Jumper’s fallen body from behind, while Mapicc appeared from above where he was waiting next to the portal in case Jumper made it that far.
Mapicc joined Bacon at the foot of the hill, both of them now standing over Jumper’s fallen body and staring down at her in contempt. Jumper lifted her head weakly, staring up at them in fear and defiance.
“I don’t know what you want from me, but you can’t have it! Just kill me already and take my heart!” Jumper challenged, glaring up at the two above her.
Mapicc just grinned down at her, drawing his sword.
“Oh we don’t want anything, just a little bit of revenge,” he said, before plunging his sword into her stomach. Jumper let out a guttural scream of pain, feeling the waves of agony sweep through her body as Mapicc ripped the sword out again, allowing blood to gush out of her body from the wound as Jumper immediately curled back up again, clutching her stomach tightly.
Unfortunately, the stab didn’t do quite enough damage to kill her, leaving Jumper on just half a heart and in a daze of pain. She wasn’t able to react at all as Bacon and Mapicc turned and walked away, blood still dripping from Mapicc’s sword as they left.
“This is what happens when you place a hit on us, don’t mess with us again,” Mapicc hissed, before he and Bacon left for good, leaving Jumper completely alone.
Jumper wasn’t able to do anything, not even move, for a good 30 minutes after her attackers left her, just laying there on the ground, just a few blocks from her base portal, in too much pain to even think.
Eventually, she was able to muster up enough strength to pull out her communicator, glancing over the list of players who were online. None of her teammates were online, which was very unfortunate. As she wracked her brain for who she could message for help who would actually be willing to, her eyes landed on one name in particular and she gasped an excited breath, then immediately fell into a coughing fit that only served to agitate her wounds. When the coughing died down, she navigated to her private messages and sent a message.
You whisper to MinuteTech: help
You whisper to MinuteTech: please
MinuteTech whispers to you: what? are you okay?
You whisper to MinuteTech: no i need help
You whisper to MinuteTech: mapicc and bacon jumped me
MinuteTech whispers to you: coords
Jumper sent Minute her coords and then put away her communicator, trying to keep her breathing calm and lay as still as possible until help was able to arrive.
It didn’t take long for Minute to arrive, just 15 minutes after receiving Jumper’s messages, and Clown and Leo were right behind him. The three men exited the same netherack tunnel as Jumper had not too long before and halted for just a moment as their eyes scanned the landscape, before freezing as their gazes landed on Jumper’s small form curled up at the foot of the hill. Their eyes widened in shock, and they quickly ran the short distance to where she laid.
Minute immediately fell to his knees beside Jumper, grabbing her hand and giving it a squeeze while Clown and Leo stood back, staring at the large puddle of blood in shock and disbelief. Jumper’s eyes slowly peeled open from when they had drifted shut during the wait and met Minute’s eyes, relief flooding her gaze.
“What the hell happened to you?” Minute asked, worry clear in his expression.
“Mapicc and Bacon happened,” Jumper rasped, letting out a small cough, “They weren’t very happy about the hit I guess.”
A dark expression flashed across Minute, Clown, and Leo’s faces, all of them furious that the duo would even dare hurt her again, as well as a little bit guilty that they were part of the reason why she was attacked.
Their expressions changed back to concern though when Jumper coughed once more, blood splattering across the ground as she heaved. Minute quickly wrapped his arms around her, lifting her up from the ground carefully and holding her bridal style.
“Where should we take her?” Minute asked, turning to his teammates.
“Her base is closest, the portal is right over there. Let’s just take her there and we can scavenge the chests for medical supplies,” Clown suggested, nodding in the direction of the portal.
Minute nodded in agreement and began slowly making his way up the hill with Jumper in his arms, Clown and Leo following close behind in case he lost his balance.
Eventually they made their way through the nether portal and into Jumper’s base, where they gently laid her on a bed before splitting up to gather supplies. Minute stayed by Jumper’s side, while Leo left to go find a water bucket and clean cloths to wash the blood away and Clown searched the chests for bandages and potions.
They quickly reconvened with all of their supplies and began treating Jumper’s wounds. Leo started by dunking the cloth in the water bucket and using it to carefully wash away the blood around the stab wound in her stomach. It had mostly stopped bleeding by that point, but he used the cloth to apply pressure to it to fully stop the bleeding, apologizing as he did so when Jumper let out a groan of pain at the pressure.
Once the bleeding had stopped, Leo finished washing away the blood and grabbed the healing potion that Clown handed to him. He carefully poured about half of the potion over the wound before wrapping it up with the bandages and setting the potion to the side. He would need the rest of it soon, since now he had to deal with the two arrows that were still protruding from Jumper’s shoulder and calf.
Leo moved up to stand next to Jumper’s shoulder where the first arrow sat.
“I need to pull the arrows out before I can add the potion and bandages, so I’m really sorry but this is going to hurt. Are you ready?” Leo warned, watching Jumper’s face for her reaction and consent.
Jumper just grit her teeth and nodded, gripping onto Minute’s hand even tighter in preparation. “I’m ready, just do it,” she said with a grimace.
Leo nodded and grabbed the shaft of the arrow, counting down from three before ripping it from her shoulder. Jumper gave a shout of pain as blood immediately began pouring from the wound again, but Leo was quick to apply pressure with the cloth again and the bleeding stopped quickly. Once it stopped Leo once again poured half of the remaining health potion over the wound and wrapped it tightly with the bandages. He then moved on to the second arrow and did the same thing, the process going much smoother this time.
Once he was finished, all of Jumper’s injuries were cleaned and bandaged, and she seemed to be much more comfortable, though she still kept Minute’s hand clenched in her own. Leo finally was able to take a step back and relax.
At that moment, Clown returned from wherever he had wandered off to while Leo was treating Jumper’s wounds. It turns out, Clown had been busy cooking a meal for her for when they were done, having returned from the kitchen with a large bowl of mushroom stew in his hands. Jumper’s eyes lit up at the sight of food, and after Minute and Leo helped her sit up properly in the bed, she eagerly dug into the stew, humming in delight at how delicious it tasted.
After she had devoured half the bowl, Jumper looked up and made eye contact with all three of the men who had come to her aid.
“Thank you guys so much for helping me, I really appreciate you all going through all this trouble just for me. Is there any way I can repay you all?” Jumper thanked them, already thinking through different ways she could repay them for everything they had done in her mind.
The PMC looked at each other, having a silent conversation between themselves, before turning back to Jumper.
“You don’t need to repay us. We care about you, and plus, we’re allies, this is just what allies do,” Clown said.
Jumper’s eyes widened. “Really?” she asked quietly, staring at them in disbelief.
Minute nodded. “Of course!” he said, giving her a warm smile.
Jumper’s eyes watered, and she started to cry, smiling happily. Clown, Leo, and Minute all gathered around her and they shared a hug.
“Thank you guys so much.”
The PMC together made a silent agreement to protect her for the rest of the season.
