"I know you love me."
You turned your head toward the ginger, giving him an annoyed look when you saw the smile on his face.
"Oh please." You rolled your eyes as you filled his glass with firewater. You couldn’t help but look at his face—his drunken face, to be precise. His eyes were filled with darkness and lust, but somehow you liked them as much as you loved the person.
"See? You can’t even deny it."
He took the glasses and sipped them slowly, locking eye contact between you two. He intertwined your hands together as you went to glance at his fingers and then back to his face.
"I mean, you are handsome."
You rested your chin on your wrist, looking at the ceiling, and made a thinking face. "Every woman would fall for you easily." You could hear his small laugh as he put his glass down. "That’s too basic. What about special impressions of me?" He smiled at you. You rolled your eyes and laughed, nodding as you turned your head away to think.
"You’re an interesting person; I really like you, not in a romantic way, just like..." You turned your head to him, and your eyes immediately locked onto each other.
"You’re a fun person to be friends with."
He hums, his fingers tracing your knuckles.
"I’m glad that I met you that day."
You chuckled, remembering that day where you both were wandering in the streets of Inazuma City at night when he asked if he could accompany you and said that it’s dangerous for a girl to walk alone at midnight, even though he knew that you’re a Harbinger too. It’s a cute memory of you both.
"What if I don’t?" He took your hands and put them on his cheeks, which made you lean closer to the counter. "Probably I’ll stay at Snezhnaya. Or perhaps dying." He raised an eyebrow when he heard your final words, and you quickly gave him a sigh. "When i was saving the traveler from Scaramouche." You started. "I can easily kill him, but since I have an electro visions, I can’t do much." You winced when he suddenly kissed your knuckles. "It should’ve been my fight, but... thanks."
"Thanks for what?"
"Thank you for saving me." You smiled at him. "Shouldn’t i be the one who thanked you? I didn’t notice that you were still there when I was fighting with him; I thought you ran away with the traveler." You tilt your head a bit.
"Of course not; the power gap between you two is quite big. So perhaps I can use my power to give you more strength." You explained to him, "And I don’t want you to die yet." He widens his eyes in surprise.
"I-I mean, you still have your family in Snezhnaya, right? It’s too early to die at such a young age, Tartaglia."
"As if you’re not the same age as me." He sighs, "I guess you’re right. I’m ‘too young’ to die; I still have a family back in my hometown, but I also still had one dream."
"What about it?" you asked.
He pulled your arms, which made you almost lose your balance as he quickly catch you with his hands on your chin.
"I want you to be part of my family, too."
You stared into his deep ocean eyes. You've never been this close with him; you both have never shared physical contact with each other since you’re not used to it.
"What’d you say?"
You tried to look away from his face, but his grip on you was so hard.
"Uh-oh, my face is right here; I want you to answer my proposal first."
You swear you could hear your heartbeat in your ears.
"Should we try again?" he asked.
Before you could answer, he crashed his lips into yours. When you got used to the affection, he quickly pulled back, earning a whine from you.
"I love you."
"I-i love you too."
