Paint My Skies Grey

Summary:

Psychics exist on a spectrum of power. Unfortunately, the stronger the psychic, the harder it is to stay... sane.

Some might say it was accident, others fate, but either way, two of the brightest psychics meet at a young age and rather than be separated, the unlikely pair find ways to stay connected.

(Story Idea that I may expand on one day but is up for grabs)

Chapter Text

Morticia Addams woke to the sound of screaming. A wonderful sound. Until she realized it was coming from Wednesday. The child was stoic even through her nightmares so this was strange. A quick trip to her room revealed the girl with eyes rolled back into her head, back bending with unnatural tension. Not long after her mother entered the room, eight year old Wednesday Addams collapsed to the floor like a puppet with it's strings cut.

Morticia caught her daughter and set her down on the nearby bed. Eight was quite young for a psychic's first vision but Wednesday was always extraordinary.

Xavier Thorpe got his first vision in a dream, at eight years old.

He saw a young girl, pale as a corpse with two long black braids standing under a parasol. Her hand slowly raised and she snapped twice before he woke up. He immediately found some paper and charcoal.

The drawing was rough, definitely not to his satisfaction, but he'd enjoy drawing a better one.

Wednesday was following her new roommate into the courtyard when she felt it. Dark eyes swept the crowd of teens until they met Xavier's. The boy had looked up when he felt the same feeling. Green eyes met black before trailing down to inspect the full monochrome uniform. He smirked at her familiar scowl and knelt to rinse his paintbrush.

Wednesday did her best to ignore him as Enid pointed out the different factions.

"Then there's the scales, led by designated Queen Bee Bianca Barclay. Although, her crown has been slipping ever since she stopped dating our resident tortured artist Xavier Thorpe."

Wednesday couldn't help the vicious little smirk that crawled onto her face at the assessment. Enid looked a little concerned at the expression, but the emotion quickly passed to shock as the Xavier Thorpe started walking over to them.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit-!"

"Hello my Raven," Xavier muttered, making the greeting private despite the large audience.

"Hello Xavier. I hear you are the 'Tortured Artist' around here. Only I get to torture you."

The boy only smiled down at her, making her scowl even harder as she thought about their significant height difference and how much she appreciated it.

"Of course, and you do it so well, Miss Addams."

Enid was staring dumbly at the two of them, along with the rest of the courtyard's population.

"You two know each other?"

"In a manner of speaking," Wednesday allowed, to the artist's amusement.

"Yeah, she saved my life years ago."

There was an awkward silence as everyone took in the presented image. Bianca couldn't keep the look of disbelief off her face at the small emo girl and her ex-boyfriend standing so close.

Neither Xavier nor Wednesday were intending on ever revealing the truth of their connection, but the girl certainly relished in the chaos their interaction had wrought.
