Aziraphale was gone, the moment the lifts closed Crowley knew that. Could no longer even smell the angel, just like during Armageddon. Aziraphale was gone, and Crowley had never felt more lonely in the millennia that the demon had spent on earth, truly and utterly alone.
Crowley truly wanted nothing more than for those doors to open once more, for Aziraphale to run to where the demon stood, apologies could be forgone, for it would be okay. Aziraphale would be there, and Crowley would wrap gentle arms around the angel and kiss those lips once more.
But Aziraphale was gone.
