Everything was happy, everything was as normal as it got. Frye and Shiver were sat at a pair of chairs eating some food from the crust bucket. Frye was in her usually peppy mood, but wanted to ask her date a personal question.
"So.. Shivs, before you moved to our middle school, where did you live?"
Shivers crimson eyes widened and they bit their bottom lip.
"Oh. I never thought I would need to tell you.."
"Can you take me??"
"I guess."
Shiver silently got up and dragged Frye away.
"Woah woah!! I'm still eating here!"

Shiver stood there. By the grate. It smelt exactly the same as it did as a young octoling.
Frye stumbled up behind them.
"Soo.. where is it??"
Shiver pointed at a rusty grate, biting their lip
"You lived in a grate?"
"No you fool! Look I- uhh- just.. listen closely.."
Frye knelt down by the grate, her pointy ears tingling against the hazel rust. She heard.. screams?
"Woahhh woah woah, you lived in THERE? no wonder you moved away! ...Sorry was that offensive?"
"Nah I get it, it was kinda rough down there, look, I think we should go back, the sun's going down."
Staying in Inkopolis was difficult for the two, Frye was homesick and Shiver was sick of being gawked at by those numbskull inklings.
Frye thought the best way to beat this was to go for a nights walk.
Inkopolis was pretty at night, and the hustle and bustle was near to gone. Frye strolled through the streets, feeling as if she didn't fit in with her chaotic nature. She decided to take a back route, the same one Shiver took to show her the grate. She saw that very grate a few minutes after and decided to stop there to answer a text from a very bored Shiver.
"When are u coming back?"
"I'll be there soon okay??"
Suddenly, a sharp, clawed arm grabbed her ankle, pulling her slowly into the grate as she struggled, another hand jumped out and held a cloth over fryes mouth, her widened eyes got deeper, and deeper until she was gone. Her limp body was dragged into the grate, her fried squid headpiece sitting on the top.
