Work Text:

Miles Morales of earth 42 needs to admit something.

To himself.

You see, in the past few months, he's been going crazy over what he is feeling towards who.

He HAS been in love before, his uncle insisted he has. She was kind to him, helped him with homework in places he was struggling, and he found himself wanting to hang out with her more. His uncle saw him draw her once, and the guy practically interrogated him.

But nothing ever got anywhere, and he stopped talking to her eventually.

But now. Now was different.

It was generally the same, but way more intense.

But the main thing is, that Miles, by all means, should NOT be feeling it.

And that is because this feeling was towards his roommate.

Ganke was always, always there for him, patient with him, kind to him. No matter if it was homework, or a panic attack, or 20 cents that never got repaid, or just goofing around, playing a video game.
She did not do that.

He never wanted to leave. He didn't want to see him gone, even if it's for 45 minutes because they have a different class. It was like there was a force, pulling them together so they never part. He wants to hang out with him all day, every day. He wants to see him, see his smile, hear his laugh.
It was never like that with her.

He draws him all the time in his sketchbook, his assignment papers, on the wall of an abandoned warehouse, heck even digitally. Ganke is the little sketches in the corners of his books. Its almost like muscle memory drawing him.
He has drawn her, but it got boring after the 2nd time

He never told his uncle. What would he think of him? He doesn't even know what he thinks of himself! Whatever he felt towards that girl was nothing compared to this. His hands weren't sweaty, his stomach didn't have butterflies and he didn't want to just stare at her for the rest of eternity.
That was all Ganke.

After another day of thinking too hard about this, he found himself sitting on Ganke's bed, with said boy in front of him, close, way too close while he was talking about this new program he was coding.

Again, they were close. Like really close. And it seemed like Ganke was getting closer. Miles noticed. He didn't pull away, it never even crossed his mind. At one point, once their knees were touching, Ganke paused, and just looked at him like he was his world, and Miles felt the butterflies return.

Miles was a little taller but it wasn't noticeable when they were sitting, which was perfect for the kindof intense - kindof awkward staring into eachother's eyes that was happening at that moment.

"Hey." Miles broke the silence and it did nothing to ease the atmosphere.

"Hi there." Ganke replied and smiled, and Miles was pretty sure if he was standing he'd be swoon off his leg.

"Whas'up?" Miles said, and at this point he was subconsciously getting closer to him too.

"You're close." He said. And he was right.

Before Miles could even dare to utter a word, Ganke grabbed his cheek. He grabbed his cheek.

"I like your freckles." He stated like it was a universal fact, and Miles should have already known. But he didn't, and his face heated up and he was about 94% sure Ganke could feel it too as he dragged a thumb across his freckles with so much focus it looked like he was counting them.

He looked directly into his eyes again, pulled his face closer to his and Miles was speechless like some sicko carved his vocal cords out with a dull pocket knife.

Ganke noticed, of cource he noticed, because technically he was the sicko that carved his vocal cords out afterall

He smiled at him, and before he could even register what was happening Ganke closed the distance, and planted a kiss on Miles's lips. It was short, quick too quick, and Miles never wanted it to end.

Jesus that sounds so corny.

His brain was loading, because he has never been kissed before, letalone by a guy, and 2 minutes ago he didn't even know he liked guys. Heck, if you ask him now theres a possibility he still would have denied it.

So when Ganke saw his dumb face staring back at him, he dropped his hands to his arms instead and started saying something, that Miles could not hear because he was thinking of everything other than that.

"Do that again" He croaked out eventually.

"..What?"

"Again." Miles answeard, maybe too fast. "Please?"

And he did, their lips touched and this time Miles actually tried to do something too.

They parted, again but didn't pull too far away, just enough to look into eachother's eyes once more.

Ganke wanted to say something but Miles didn't get to know what because now it was the taller boy's turn to grab the other's cheek and kiss him.

He loved the kiss, more than he imagined he would ever like a kiss. He tasted Ganke's chapstick and he couldn't decide what kind of flavour it even was. He was sure he tasted some toothpaste too. He loved being close to him, and didn't feel like letting go.
He never wanted to do this with her.

Unfortunately, air is necessary, and they had to part.

"I think i'm in love with you, to be honest." Miles said finally accepting his fate.

"Are you realising that only now?" Ganke laughed, and he laughed too.

They joked, laughed and teased eachother after that.  They shared a few more kisses, some on the cheek, some on the lips. They ended up snuggling close to eachother by the time the sun set. They weren't necessarily sleeping, just enjoying eachother's presence.

Maybe he should tell his uncle.
