Work Text:

Rapunzel could feel a strange sensation deep within her heart as she gazed out of the palace window. The view of the golden sun shining upon the vast kingdom before her seemed to lose its luster with each passing day. Longing for something she couldn't quite put her finger on, she found herself yearning to return to the place she had once called home, her tower.

As she brushed her fingers through her flowing golden locks, memories of Mother Gothel flooded her mind. Rapunzel had spent her entire life in that tower, under Gothel's watchful eye. The tower had become her safe haven, her shelter from the outside world. It was the only place where she truly belonged.

She had come to rely on Mother Gothel for love, affection, and guidance. Despite what others might think, Rapunzel couldn't help but find comfort in the presence of Gothel.

But now, in the grandeur of the palace, Rapunzel felt lost. Surrounded by people who expected so much from her, she yearned for the simplicity of her days in the tower. Oh, how she longed for Gothel to brush her hair one last time, to receive a hug that only Mother Gothel could give her. No one else understood her like Gothel did.

The princess felt a growing frustration and resentment towards the countless people who filled her days with meaningless tasks and responsibilities. They all seemed so eager to devour her with their endless demands and expectations. Rapunzel couldn't help but despise them, unable to comprehend their constant need for control.

With each passing day, her desire to leave the palace grew stronger. She dreamed of escaping this gilded prison and returning to the familiar confines of her tower. There, she could be free from the weight of the world and all the responsibilities that were forced upon her.

Rapunzel yearned for the simplicity of her former life, the solitude, the quiet, and the companionship of only her own thoughts. She missed the way the sunlight would filter through the tower's window, casting a warm glow upon her face. She yearned for the sweet, melodious sound of Mother Gothel's voice, singing her lullabies that would soothe her troubled soul.

As night fell, Rapunzel found herself standing by the window, gazing up at the stars. She whispered a silent plea to the night sky, begging for a way to return to her tower. She knew that it would mean leaving behind the luxury and grandeur of the palace, but it was a sacrifice she was willing to make.

Nobody understood why Rapunzel yearned to go back to her tower, and perhaps they never would. But deep within her soul, she knew that her destiny awaited her there. Wrapped in the warm embrace of Mother Gothel, she would finally find the peace and love she so desperately craved.

Got this idea from a tik tok comment and could not get it out of my head.
