Chapter Text
Rice Dumpling sneezes and shakes his head, blinking away his sleepiness. He sniffles, searching for the fluffy blanket his owner had gotten them. It seems he had pushed it away sometime during his nap. He lazily crawls back under the blanket, happily rubbing his cheeks against his fellow critter. Sesame was always warm.
There’s a sound of a page flip and his ears perk up.
It must be his human!
He quickly crawls out of their fluffy bed basket, tail swishing against the chew toys and bell balls when he lands on the soft carpet. He bounces up the small steps, shivering a bit when his paws hit the cold ground but he bounces off anyway. He blinks widely, peeking up at the other side of the room. There, he finds his owner sitting up on the futon with an open book.
His favorite human is back!
His owner looks up, notices him too, and smiles, beckoning him over. He happily complies, jumping over to the man and making his throne on his human’s lap known. For coming back home early, he will award this human with snuggles! With that he rubs his head against his owner’s stomach, earning a small laugh from the man and a head rub.
The lump of blanket to their side shifts and a sleepy head rolls towards them, dark blue hair strands sticking all over the place. Rice Dumpling peers over, pawing at it.
“Hmm, A-Heng?” The lump pushes down the sheets, and pulls closer to them, snuggling into his owner’s waist.
Munya~! His other human is back too!
He leans over, brushing his nose against his second owner’s face. This human grunts but blinks awake nonetheless as he continues rubbing his head against the other’s face. “Hi, Dumpling.”
“Did we wake you up, Ren?”
Rice Dumpling’s other owner makes some incoherent sound and reaches out to pet his head.
He purrs, rubbing his head against the hand. Yes, more head pats, please!
“Munya munya?”
He looks up to see Sesame Cake bouncing over. The other critter must have woken up from all of the movements. Sesame quickly glomps their sleepy owner, his tail swishing back and forth against the man’s face while licking Rice Dumpling’s cheek, causing more laughter from his favorite human.
His sleepy owner grunts and shifts backward, pulling the blankets down further as he makes some space in the middle of the futon for the two critters. Rice Dumpling happily bounces off his comfy seat on Dan Heng’s lap and circles around the new space. It’s warm! He plops down on the spot. His owners really give him the best.
Sesame follows, plopping down next to him and rubbing their cheeks together. Very warm. His two owners chuckle, caressing his head softly. Rice Dumpling is very pleased. He snuggles into the sheets between his favorite humans and critter for his third nap of the day. It’s another slow and peaceful day.
