Chapter Text
It was a sunny bright morning. The wind whispered softly, a stark contrast to yesterday. Tubbo looked outside of his apartment building window he lived in.
He sighed heavily, the weight of stress evident in the sound, and started to get ready for when Sunny wakes up. Today was Tuesday, nothing special besides that it’s Sunny’s first day of kindergarten. He is very much stressed out for Sunny because they don’t speak Polish and neither does Tubbo, well he knows more than Sunny but not enough to get by.
Yeah Polish, they were in Poland, specifically in Rzepin. He still can’t pronounce the word, but he hopes to get there one day.
He sighed yet again and walked into the kitchen and started to make some coffee for him and Sunny as well as start breakfast, even though he doesn't eat in the mornings Sunny does.
The kitchen was small, on the right a fridge, with so many drawings stuck there with magnets, a small table with two chairs, that has still plates there that Tubbo forgot to put in the sink, and on the left there was a stove with a sink next to it and a few cupboards filled to the brim with different tea, coffee and other packages as well as dishes like cups and plates. The room had a yellowish floral wallpaper that Sunny has tried to draw on as they are '’too boring’’.
Tubbo stressfully looked at the clock that was ticking a little too loudly for his sensitive ears. He hoped to god that the workers in kindergarten weren’t joking when they said that they can teach Sunny Polish and Polish sign language. He also was worried about his job, even though he was accepted because of his extensive knowledge of biology as well as having a mechanical engineering degree he somehow found in the suitcase when he opened it when he fully rented the apartment he lives in right now.
He didn’t remember much about his past, but he does remember about the federation and Fred and his kind of sorta brother Ramón and Ramón’s dads Fit and Pac, with Richarlyson added, who he only has nothing but good memories of. Obviously he remembers Niki and Bagi and even Roier for some reason.
He also remembers. . .
Purgatory.
He shivers at that thought.
Point is he remembers his life on the island but not before that.
He was very lucky with his situation as he somehow found help pretty quickly (probably because of their pity towards Sunny and how young Tubbo looked even with his lava scars that they think is caused by fire).
He snapped back when he realised the eggs he was cooking were about to burn.

Sunny looked at his Pa in wonder as he looked at the TV that was fully in Polish. They tapped at their Pa gaining attention from him and she started to sign: ''Pa can you understand what the lady is saying?!''Tubbo chuckled and said: ''I understand enough''.
''How was kindergarten?'' asked Tubbo and picked her up into his lap. ''Huh? How was it?'' Sunny deflated a little but signed: ''It was weird ''.
’’weird? How so?’’ Tubbo asked, trying to see if other people bullied her or they were left out, so he can protect her immediately and not later, and Sunny just shrugged, ''okay? But is it bad weird?'' Sunny shook her head aggressively. Tubbo laughed a little, and felt relieved that it was positive weird, but nodded ''okay Poppet, if you say so''.
He got up with Sunny in his hands and walked towards Sunny’s room.
Her room was bigger than Tubbos and very colourful, mostly orange but still much more colourful than Tubbo’s room (which honestly was more of a workspace than a bedroom and even then he used the living room as a make-shift working area, his room was just storage at this point).
Sunny also had. . . wormtail.
Somehow that dead but actually alive turtle came with them???
Tubbo is still baffled by it.
Anyway. . .
Tubbo puts Sunny on her pajamas or how Sunny signed them: ‘’piżama’’. He’s glad that Sunny’s trying to sign in Polish because it can and will be useful for them.
After Tubbo put Sunny to bed he sighed and went into the kitchen to make a cup of coffee before starting to work on some papers that were oh so kindly given to him on his first day of work, he was glad that the workers understood that he can’t understand a lick of Polish but eventually will have to understand and will (At least enough to have a normal conversation).
As he’s waiting for the water to boil he hears weird creaking. He looks around where the creaking came from, it seems as if it was upstairs but above him? Like exactly?
He knows this place is old (Believe him it’s as old as or even older than him) but it’s weird still he shakes it off as upstairs neighbors.
Finally the water had finished boiling and he poured the hot water and coffee powder with some milk in a cup. The cup had three swoopy stripes in very boring colours of brown, light brown and white, but hey it does it’s job perfectly fine.
He sighed and went to the living room where he has his makeshift workplace. He sat down on the dark green couch with no pillows or blankets and started to look through the papers that were given to him on his first day. . .
’Zagadnienia języka naturalnego w dziedzinach biochemii i biologii molekularnej opa-’
Tubbo sighed, now just about to give up, they gave him the full Polish version and not the English one they promised.
‘’For fuck sake…,’’ Tubbo sighed, again being even more tired. He took a sip of his coffee that was very much shit and started translation with both the Polish-English dictionary and google translate because he has patience but not that much. . .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took him three fucking hours and he's only half way through the papers. At least he had not a lot of pressure put on him on his first day, but common man!
He closed his eyes. The desk that was more of a kitchen table just put in the living room was full of papers, coffee stains and an empty cup.
He got up and flicked the light off and walked into his bare room with a mattress on the floor with a few pillows and a blanket, he changed his clothes and just fell into his mattress and fell asleep immediately.
As the crickets filled the late spring air with their loud chorus, nature changed weathers as it pleased. A few raindrops fell down and soon it was a storm.
But no one was there to hear the soothing rain and definitely not Tubbo, the man who had a lot on his plate and took a fully deserved break. . .
