Fun

Summary:

A series of scenes of Lidia exploring the new freedom of her life in Lunathion with Ruhn. Pure relationship fluff because Ruhn and Lidia are the best thing about the last two Crescent City books.

Chapter 1: The Meaning of Fun

Chapter Text

Ruhn was making coffee in the kitchen when Lidia walked in. They both had the day off and no definite plans.
‘I’ve been thinking,’ began Lidia.
Ruhn hopped up onto one of the stools, cupping his coffee cup in his hands. ‘This usually ends up somewhere interesting.’
‘You are always on at me to have more fun.’
‘Is that a bad thing?’
Lidia smiled. ‘No, of course not. But I realised I don’t really know what I like to do and I’d like to find out but I didn’t know where to start. Then I thought about our friends, and the things they love to do. So I asked them all to choose one thing they love that they think I should try.’
‘And you didn’t ask me first? I’m hurt.’ Ruhn put a hand on his chest.
Lidia smiled. ‘I didn’t need to.’ She slid an envelope across the table towards him. ‘I already got tickets, but they’re not until the end of the month.’
Ruhn opened the envelope and looked at the tickets. His eyebrows raised. ‘Demented Pixie. You sure you’re ready for this?’
‘I’m fairly certain I’m not, but that’s the point right? They’re your favourite.’
‘They are.’ Ruhn tucked the tickets back into the envelope. ‘Wait…you asked all our friends?’
Lidia rolled her eyes. ‘Yes, I realised my mistake quite quickly. I’ve told Flynn I’m filing a harassment charge if he can’t come up with something less…pornographic.’
‘So where are we going to start? Not Flynn, obviously.’
‘We?’
‘Unless this is something you want to do alone? There were two tickets…’
‘I never want to do anything alone again.’
‘You don’t have to.’
‘But I don’t know what to do first.’ Lidia flipped open a notebook where she kept the list of suggestions and turned it around so Ruhn could read it. He tugged on his lip ring thoughtfully.
‘Marc is a good male, that’s probably a good place to start.’
