Chapter 1: A panicked boy and his rock

Chapter Text

Jon rushed into the office, his heart pounding and his breaths shallow. The weight of impending deadlines and mounting responsibilities bore down on him like a suffocating blanket. He barely registered the familiar faces of his colleagues as he stumbled to his office, his hands trembling. Luckily, Chris wasn’t there.

Blaine though, was there. In a moment of perceptiveness, he noticed Jon's distress immediately. Concern etched lines into his forehead as he abandoned his own tasks, making a beeline for his friend. "Jon, hey, what's going on? You look like you're about to have a panic attack."

Jon's eyes darted around the room, his chest tightening with each passing second. "Blaine, I can't... I can't handle this. There's too much to do, too much to think about. I feel like I'm drowning."

Blaine's expression softened with empathy as he approached Jon, his voice gentle and soothing having dealt with this a thousand times, "Hey, it's okay. I'm here for you. Let's take a moment, alright? Just focus on your breathing. In... and out."

Jon struggled to steady his ragged breaths, his hands gripping the edge of his desk for support. "I don't know if I can do this, Blaine. What if I fail? What if I let everyone down?"

Blaine knelt beside Jon, his presence a steady anchor in the storm of Jon's panic. "Listen to me, Jon. You are capable, you are talented, and you are not alone. We're all in this together, and we've got your back."

Jon closed his eyes, trying to heed Blaine's words amidst the chaos in his mind. Slowly, with Blaine's guidance, he began to regain control over his breathing, the tightness in his chest easing with each exhale.

"Thanks, Blaine," Jon murmured, his voice shaky but filled with gratitude. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

Blaine offered Jon a reassuring smile, his hand resting gently on Jon's shoulder. "Anytime, buddy. Remember, you're stronger than you think. And I'll be here whenever you need me."

As Jon's panic subsided, replaced by a sense of calm determination, he felt a profound sense of gratitude for the friend who always knew just how to guide him back to serenity amidst the storm.

Over the course of the day, Blaine kept a watchful eye on Jon, periodically checking in to offer words of encouragement or to suggest a short break. Each time, Jon assured him that he was fine, that he could handle it, even as the weight of his responsibilities continued to press down on him like a crushing burden.

Hours passed, and despite Blaine's best efforts, Jon's stress began to build once more, like a relentless tide creeping ever higher. When Blaine made his next check-in, he found Jon hunched over his desk, his head buried in his hands, his entire body shaking with the force of his panic.

"Jon?" Blaine's voice was laced with concern as he rushed to his friend's side, placing a gentle hand on his trembling shoulder. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here."

But Jon seemed lost in the grip of his panic, his breaths coming in short, ragged gasps. He was unable to respond, his mind consumed by a whirlwind of fear and anxiety.

Blaine acted swiftly, guiding Jon to the small red bean bag in the corner of his office. He knelt beside Jon, speaking softly in an effort to break through the fog of panic that enveloped him.

"Jon, listen to my voice. You're safe here. You're not alone. I'm right here with you, okay?" Blaine's words were a lifeline in the darkness, a beacon of hope amidst the turmoil.

Slowly, gradually, Jon's breathing began to steady, his muscles relaxing as the intensity of his panic began to ebb away. With Blaine's unwavering support, he was able to claw his way back from the brink, his grip on reality gradually solidifying once more.

Finally, the panic attack subsided, Jon found himself enveloped in a sense of profound gratitude for the friend who had been there for him through thick and thin. Blaine's steadfast presence had been a source of strength and comfort when he needed it most, a reminder that he was never truly alone in his struggles.

"Thank you, Blaine," Jon whispered, his voice hoarse but filled with genuine appreciation. "I don't know what I would do without you."

Blaine offered Jon a warm smile, his eyes reflecting the depth of their bond. "Anytime, buddy. We're in this together, remember? And I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
