Chapter Text
Cassian look at the silver disc around his claws. It’s beautiful, really. The platinum disc shines more than he thought. The design is simple, it could be perceived as a tree or a thunderbolt with-
“Are you going to stare a it for all day long?"
Cassian glare at Driver.
"Or you’re returning to training like a rat?"
Cassian glares harder.
"Look, I don’t mind you staring at it but at least listen to me." Driver proceeds to show a document sent by the psyker bureau of Korea.
"What that?"
"The damage you’ve caused to the city, and that one"-he put another voluminous stack of paper on the conference room table-"is the damage you’ve done to the vilzone."
"And, what? They want us to repair the damage? Why aren’t they asking Don king, he lost."
"This isn’t about money! You know what? Just read it."
"Maybe later." He said wile standing up. I won’t be in Korea for the next month."
"Really?" Cassian nod. "It’s a school thing, we’re going to Greece. My sibling is forcing me to go so we can see each other."
"Can you speak English?" He replies with a grin.
"Of course l can." Driver laughs a little and tells him goodbye.
Before leaving, he call the other. "Can you build something for me, I’ll send you the details and were to send it."
"Sure"
He leave without the papers
Surprisingly, there were quite a lot of students who chose to come in vacations with the school. If it was up to him, he would have stayed here,in his gym, it doesn’t matter if it was him or the school or the government that pay for it. At some point, the teachers call for attendance and the next thing he knew, Cassian and Moros were up for 16 hours plus 35 minutes. So he slept through the whole flight to regain his lost night of studying, training or attacking others vilzone.
Upon the first minute at the hotel, he realized it was a bad idea to come. Cassian should have forgot his plan and said no to his sister because there is no way he was gonna share a room with Gangu old bully. When he complained to the teacher, she said it was wanted so we could ‘go over the past and become friends’ what’s this logic? To say the truth they were probably more apprehensive than him, if he remembers correctly he gave them a good beating.
The room is what you can expect from a hotel : two beds, a closet, bathroom, multiple electrical outlet, mini fridge and a safe. There also a balcony with chairs and a table. He put the suitcase on the bed closer to the balcony and lies down on the bed.
Moros, who as been quiet since leaving Korea -perhaps he didn’t want Cassian to look crazy- show itself. "What’s the plan"
"What are you talking about?" He replied without opening his eyes.
"I’m talking about how we broke in your school at night and rig the vote to make sure we go in Greece. What’s the plan."
Cassian reached out to his buzzing phone. "For now we wait." He said wile texting back.
The bully boss got in the room and ended their conversation. Both of them didn’t acknowledge the other and said silent all the way until dinner.
Dinner is basically a buffet. It’s loud and crowded, people walks on people shoes making the it a crazy mess of apology mixed with insults. When it came to dessert, the teachers make everyone sit down and explain how thing works, what activity were planned, the curfew -witch is 10pm-, plus some other details about the trip before letting the students go search for they dessert.
As for Cassian, he left the second the adults dismiss them.
And just like that, their first day in Greece came to an end.
After a week in vacation, Yuri send a text explaining she was here to be expect in an hour or so. Cassian replies with a thumbs up then went down for breakfast.
She ended up joining wile there were having lunch, so she put her things in her room and joined Cassian class for lunch.
After telling a teacher that they are siblings and wanted to go out together all day, they do just that. They take their time walking around the area, drinking the view while feeling the warm breeze, discussing about everything and nothing.
"It’s a shame you’re class decided to go in Greece rather than America, I could have presented you to my boss, my colleague, my new friend, I’m sure all of you would have get along well!" She said with stars in her eye.
"Anyway, tell me how the entrance exam went."
"I think you already know how it went." He replied flatly.
"Well, at least you’ve had an additional week to study." She respond with an awkward laugh.
Cassian only grunted in response, staring at his feet. He wished Yuri wouldn’t have brought up the exam entrance. He can’t tell her that he couldn’t study due to him going berserk in an arena and destroyed half a vilzone with a part of town that led to exam being moved.
Fortunately, Yuri change the subject to go back to her job.
They were back at the hotel faster than he thought, their day out was really pleasant even if they just walked around all day.
Yuri was expected back to work only five days later, so she wanted to spend the most day possible with him. When he told her about the school trip, she insisted he goes. That way, when his trip ended she would fly to Greece and prolong his vacation there with her.
Of course, Cassian didn’t want to spend more time than necessary here, but he figured Driver would take quite some time to build what he asked for, so he agreed.
Knocking sound appeared. "Gangu?" Yuri stopped at the doorframe, "Did you finish packing? We need to leave soon."
He simply nodded, zipped his suitcase and followed her to the receptionist to give back their keys. Now they were in a taxi going to an Airbnb Yuri rented.
That evening he sat on the bed and checked the phone, Driver still hadn’t answered.
It took until the very last day, in the evening, for Driver to contact and confirm his box have been delivered. Cassian cursed him for being late, now he had less than six hours to execute his plan.
While sneaking out of the Airbnb and sneaking in the zone was easy enough, everything else is going to be more complicated. At least, Driver’s confection was already close to the cliff border. He dropped the bag he had brought next to it.
Looking down at the waves, Cassian felt à déjà vu feeling. He doubted himself for a split second before jumping in the water.
