Hard to be as shameless as Him

Summary:

Sung Hyunje picks up Han Yoojin for Sung Hyunje's birthday party, but they take a detour before heading to the cruise ship.

Set around novel Chapter 183: 성 모 씨 생일(1)/around the middle of manhwa Episode 167.

Notes:

This fic isn't exactly canonical with my fic about Han Yoojin being in Sung Hyunje's bed after Sung Hyunje fends off Jellyfish, but it sort of follows that. You should be able to read this without reading that one.

I use the manhwa's English spellings for names where I can.

Thank you so much to Ace for beta-reading <3 <3 <3

Work Text:

Han Yoojin was putting the finishing touches on his outfit for Sung Hyunje’s birthday when he got a call from Haeyeon’s security.

“Sir,” the A-rank Hunter on duty said over the phone, nervously, “The Sesung Guild Leader is here to pick you up.”

Han Yoojin stared ahead at the curtains of his bedroom window, confused. “Excuse me?”

“He said he’d wait for you out front, Sir,” the Hunter replied.

“With everyone else?” Han Yoojin asked, still confused. Maybe everyone was already out there? Han Yoojin had said he’d walk himself to Sung Hyunje’s party. Maybe Sung Hyunje got a bus for them or something, though it was a bit unusual for him.

“Just you, Sir.”

Han Yoojin huffed a sigh. Ridiculous man. “Fine. Tell him to turn the car off. I’ll be a while.” Then he hung up and went to go talk to Han Yoohyun…

Who walked into the room with a frown, already dressed to go. “Why is Sung Hyunje waiting here for you? I thought we were going together.” Han Yoohyun was clearly frustrated. Yilin was in his eye again, making him look angrier.

Han Yoojin rubbed his neck in frustration, hoping he didn’t have to mediate between the two S-ranks before the night had even really started. “He probably considers it payback for the gift I gave him.” Han Yoojin was regretting the yarn a little already, but not fully. It was still amusing to recall the memory of Sung Hyunje surrounded by a sea of pink yarn. “It’s fine. I’ll catch up with you all when we get to the party.”

“I can tell him to go away,” Han Yoohyun said. “He should be at his own party, not bothering you.”

Han Yoojin chuckled and patted Han Yoohyun on the shoulder. “It’s okay. He’s annoying to deal with, but it’s simple enough. Plus, if you get there before us, you can better scout the place without his eyes on you.” Han Yoojin really didn’t want his brother to make a fuss over it. I need to get to the car so he can leave, Han Yoojin thought. He was a bit annoyed that Sung Hyunje had ignored Han Yoojin’s statement about walking himself, but he wondered if there was another reason for it. Maybe Sung Hyunje had news to share in private?

Memories of when Han Yoojin had been at Sung Hyunje’s home during his house arrest and he and Sung Hyunje had been alone together made Han Yoojin’s face warm, but he pushed that aside. There wasn’t time for reminiscing.

Han Yoohyun still looked annoyed, but he didn’t press the issue again, and walked Han Yoojin down to the lobby. Park Yerim joined them, followed by Noah, Yoo Myungwoo, and Kim Sunghan, all of them confused by the change in plans. Moon Hyuna had arrived, too, looking dashing, and wandered up behind them while slinging an arm over Park Yerim’s shoulder. Peace walked at Han Yoojin’s heels, not wanting to be left out. Peep-Peep hopped onto Kim Sunghan’s head.

“I can’t take you, Peace,” Han Yoojin said by the door as Sung Hyunje came into sight, looking handsome as usual in a fine white suit. His blonde hair nearly glowed in the building lights. Han Yoojin turned his back to the man to nuzzle Peace’s orange face. “Stay here, all right?” He then looked up to Park Yerim, who looked lovely in her tailcoat, but a bit worried, too. “You have the books, right?”

Park Yerim glanced at Sung Hyunje outside with a thoughtful expression, and then back at Han Yoojin with a smile. “All of them, as you suggested!”

Han Yoojin looked forward to seeing Sung Hyunje’s face when he saw all the knitting books. Han Yoojin then gave Park Yerim, Noah, and Han Yoohyun hugs, and then walked out of the building.

Sung Hyunje looked even more attractive in person, leaning casually to show off his well-muscled body and how good he looked in the suit. His bright golden eyes tracked Han Yoojin’s every movement.

I feel like I’m not wearing anything again, Han Yoojin thought as he walked up to Sung Hyunje with an unimpressed look to hide his slight blush. “You didn’t have to pick me up. I said I’d walk there myself.”

Sung Hyunje smiled. “But that only encouraged me to come, because it changed things.” He stepped forward until he was right in front of Han Yoojin. “No special greeting?”

Han Yoojin snorted and said, “Not for people who ignore me when I talk.” He could feel the gaze of Han Yoohyun and the others behind them in the building.

Sung Hyunje pouted and said, “My item is so cruel, even on my birthday…”

Han Yoojin glared at him, then reached out to grab the man’s collar, pulling him down for a quick kiss. When he let go, he could see the look of triumph on Sung Hyunje’s handsome face. Han Yoojin’s lips almost buzzed and he looked at the car instead. “You have a different vehicle.” His face was hot and he really hoped the others were keeping a firm grip on Han Yoohyun.

Sung Hyunje chuckled and said, “I picked something with a nicer interior.” He opened the passenger seat for Han Yoojin and smiled.

Han Yoojin glared and stepped into the car, then put his seatbelt on as Sung Hyunje shut the door.

Sung Hyunje got in, put on his seatbelt, and started the vehicle, and they were off into the night.

Han Yoojin didn’t have Peace to distract himself this time, and so his hands felt a bit useless. He gazed out the passenger window thoughtfully.

“Have you been sleeping any better?” Sung Hyunje asked. There was a note of fondness in his voice, and a bit of teasing.

Han Yoojin frowned as he gazed. “Just fine. Yoohyun-ie is with me, so it’s all fine.” He’d been able to get some sleep with Han Yoohyun at his side, but he still dreaded sleep sometimes. The nightmares were powerful. He found himself reminiscing about being in Sung Hyunje’s bed, where he hadn’t had nightmares, either, and shoved them back. He had to focus, even with silly greeting kisses!

“You’re always welcome to come over again,” Sung Hyunje said with a smile. “I’ll readily help you sleep again.” He glanced at Han Yoojin in a way that made Han Yoojin shiver.

“I appreciate the offer,” Han Yoojin replied, stiffly. “But I don’t think Yoohyun-ie would be happy with that.”

“And you always do what your brother tells you,” Sung Hyunje said, sarcastically. “That’s why after he placed you in my residence, you escaped.”

“Keeping me under house arrest is different,” Han Yoojin muttered as he crossed his arms and leaned back in his seat. “At least at the Breeding Facility I have room to move around.”

“You have the run of my home whenever you’re there,” Sung Hyunje said. “And now you can come and go as you please.”

Han Yoojin thought that through, and then eyed Sung Hyunje warily. “Are you asking me to move in with you?”

Sung Hyunje’s eyes curved. “Perhaps.”

“Well I’m not interested,” Han Yoojin said, primly. Maybe he didn’t mind the physicality or the lack of nightmares, but that was just… something else. Whatever their relationship was at this point. Han Yoojin valued his independence.

“The offer remains open,” Sung Hyunje said.

They drove in silence for a bit before Han Yoojin said, “Thank you, though. For the offer.” He really appreciated that Sung Hyunje cared about him getting enough sleep. His nightmares were a delicate matter he still didn’t like talking about. Although Sung Hyunje didn’t know what they were, it helped that Han Yoojin could talk a little bit more about having them than he could with Han Yoohyun or the others.

Sung Hyunje inclined his head slightly, acknowledging the thanks.

Eventually, they drove to a dock and parked, and they both got out. The night was beautiful, with the lights of the city behind them, the stars above them, and the water glittering ahead. Han Yoojin could see the cruise ship for the party – or at least he assumed that’s what it was – floating a ways out: a huge ship covered in lights, with small people flittering around it. A light wind whistled through his hair.

But there was one problem.

“Where do we go to get on the ship?” Han Yoojin asked in confusion, looking around. They seemed to be more at a lookout than anything else. He didn’t see any crowds, either. There were a few parked cars around, but they were empty and dark.

“I just wanted to bring you here first,” Sung Hyunje said, devilishly. “Isn’t the view nice?”

Han Yoojin’s face heated. So this is a date or something? He thought. “You have guests! You don’t have time for this kind of thing!”

Sung Hyunje did a fake pout and replied, “But I got you a gift! It’s in the back seat. And you wouldn’t be able to admire it on the ship.”

Han Yoojin frowned. “It’s your birthday! You’re meant to be getting gifts, not giving them!” He knew Sung Hyunje was shameless, but Han Yoojin had even prepared a second gift and everything, and now the man did this… It was ridiculous.

Sung Hyunje leaned on the car, letting the streetlights flick over his golden hair. “It’s a day for me to do as I please, isn’t it? And I wanted to give you a gift.” His eyes curved even more.

Han Yoojin glared at him, then sighed, and stepped over to open the passenger back door. There was a basket sitting in the middle of the backseat. Han Yoojin frowned and got into the car so he could reach over and pull the basket over. He pulled out his cellphone to shine a light on what was inside… revealing a knitted pink scarf neatly folded up.

“Do you like it?” Sung Hyunje said from behind him.

Han Yoojin turned to glare at the man, now leaning into the car with a grin, blocking off Han Yoojin’s exit. Han Yoojin looked back down at the scarf and reached out to feel it. It was soft and felt like the yarn he’d given Sung Hyunje. “You really made this?” He didn’t think Sung Hyunje would just buy one, but it really was a surprise. The man worked fast.

“Yes,” Sung Hyunje said, sounding a little pleased. “I find it an interesting way to pass the time.”

Han Yoojin scoffed and turned his head. “Maybe you need more—” Warm lips covered his. Han Yoojin dropped the scarf.

After a moment, Sung Hyunje gently pushed Han Yoojin farther into the roomy backseat, which knocked the basket over. The door clicked shut behind him, and Han Yoojin ended up on his back beneath Sung Hyunje. The taller man had his back up and his left knee on the seat on Yoojin’s right, squished against the back of the seat. His right leg was stretched out on the ground. His arms were bent, trapping Han Yoojin between them. His right hand held Han Yoojin’s left shoulder tightly, and his golden bangs drifted above Han Yoojin’s face.

Han Yoojin broke the kiss eventually, gasping for air. He wasn’t crushed exactly, but it was a lot at once.

“Did you like the gift?” Sung Hyunje repeated, his face right over Han Yoojin’s. His golden eyes shone.

Han Yoojin breathed in deeply, feeling his stomach leap at their closeness. “It’s nice. You did a good job.”

Sung Hyunje leaned down and nibbled on Han Yoojin’s left ear.

Han Yoojin sighed – the bites weren’t painful, though one did make him wince – and said, “You’re going to make a mess of my suit. I got dressed up for this to do well by you and you’re messing it up. That’s rude!”

Sung Hyunje let go of the ear and chuckled, “If it’s for me, then I can enjoy it as I please.” He snuffled around the right side of Han Yoojin’s face, moving his lips over Han Yoojin’s eyelid.

Han Yoojin shuddered at the odd sensation. Sung Hyunje’s movements were almost like a dog or a cat, sniffing around for something. “Can’t the people on the ship see we’re here? They saw you get in the car with me. What if there are reporters or something?” The most powerful Hunters would be gathered for the party, and they’d have eyesight good enough to see this far. Han Yoojin could only imagine the gossip columns, even if Han Yoohyun silenced everyone at Haeyeon who’d seen their kiss before.

“They’ll say there’s speculative collaboration between Sesung and the Breeding Facility,” Sung Hyunje said against Han Yoojin’s forehead. “Which is already true in a way. My guild does support the facility, and we pay for Comet’s upkeep.” He lowered his head to bite along the soft skin under Han Yoojin’s chin. “And they’ll maybe say that I’m taking a bigger interest in the head of the Breeding Facility. And they’re correct.”

Han Yoojin swallowed, and Sung Hyunje kissed his throat. He now wondered if the kiss by Haeyeon earlier had been a pointed declaration of a kind, or at least if Sung Hyunje felt it was meant that way.

“Plus,” Sung Hyunje continued as he reached down to the buttons of Han Yoojin’s pants. “Any awakened reporters will be on the ship, trying to catch any gossip they can from all the top-ranking Hunters they can find. They won’t be focused on someone parking a car at the dock. We’re not the only car here.”

Han Yoojin supposed they probably blended in, and it was a bit dark, even with the lights. He also realized that the car wasn’t exactly soundproof… “We could draw people with the noise.” He didn’t imagine Sung Hyunje would be quiet about it, not after showing up and demanding a proper greeting where other people could see them, or crawling into the car on top of Han Yoojin where the cruise ship could, at least theoretically, see them together.

“I won’t destroy the car,” Sung Hyunje said with a grin as he pulled down Han Yoojin’s pants a bit, exposing his cock. “Probably.”

Han Yoojin snorted at that, and was surprised at how warm the car was, before he realized it was probably because a powerful S-rank Hunter was between his legs. “You made a mess of your guest bedroom, didn’t you?”

“There’s no Jellyfish here to bother us now,” Sung Hyunje noted as his chains reached out to the glove box, popped it open, and withdraw a bottle of lube, pulling it back to the backseat. Sung Hyunje poured some out onto his fingers before pressing them to Han Yoojin’s ass, startling the shorter man with the cold. “And I like this car. I’ll like it even more after I’ve fucked you in it.”

Han Yoojin’s face burned. “If you ruin my suit, I’ll be mad!”

Sung Hyunje laughed again and thrust two fingers in and out of Han Yoojin’s ass. “I’ll do my best. I promise I’ll replace it if I do.”

Han Yoojin tilted his head back at the familiar feeling of Sung Hyunje’s fingers inside him. His right hand held a seatbelt tightly, and his back rubbed against the car seat. He tried not to move too much in order to avoid destroying his suit, but he didn’t have much of an option: his body reacted on its own. Sung Hyunje’s fingers were fast and felt large inside of him. “Are you…? Are you only doing this because it’s different?” Han Yoojin was breathing quickly now.

“Maybe,” Sung Hyunje said as he added a third finger. “It’s definitely more different than joining the party on the ship, full of Hunters chasing each other down for sport.”

Han Yoojin frowned at that, but wasn’t all that surprised. Higher ranking Hunters were far too bloodthirsty, in his experience. How I’ll manage to recruit 50 S-rank Hunters, I have no idea. “Is it really worth the money to do all this, then?” It seemed a ridiculous expense for something Sung Hyunje didn’t care for anyway.

“I like supporting the local community,” Sung Hyunje said with a grin. “All the caterers are local, the waitstaff are local… Mostly made of lower-ranking Hunters who can survive the backlash of power usage. And even if the ship is destroyed, the insurance company is local, too. And there are plenty of Hunters on hand to manage the wreckage.”

“You shouldn’t be so casual about your cruise ship getting destroyed,” Han Yoojin muttered as Sung Hyunje finally withdrew his fingers. Han Yoojin bit back a whine.

Sung Hyunje worked at his own pants for a bit before pressing forward and moving over Han Yoojin again. He pressed Han Yoojin’s legs back so that the younger man’s knees were almost touching his shoulders. “I admit I am a bit focused on other things,” Sung Hyunje said. He pressed his cock to Han Yoojin’s ass. “Single-minded, I suppose.” He pushed inside, making Han Yoojin grunt on each thrust in.

“You owe me breakfast after this,” Han Yoojin said as he shut his eyes on a particularly hard thrust that shoved him closer to the edge of release.

“Of course,” Sung Hyunje said, barely voicing any strain. He pushed Han Yoojin’s thighs back more to get a better angle. The car creaked around them, despite his earlier words. His eyes were still bright. His cock was a large, bullying presence in Han Yoojin’s ass. “Any special requests?” Sung Hyunje increased his pace, increasing the noise of the creaking.

Han Yoojin lost track of what he needed to answer, falling into the waves of delicious pleasure every time Sung Hyunje’s cock hit him just right.

“I bought some special pink food dye, too,” Sung Hyunje murmured.

Han Yoojin yelped, just as Sung Hyunje’s cock pressed precisely at the right place, making his own cock burst as waves of pleasure raced through him.

Sung Hyunje was there, leaning over him in a way Han Yoojin didn’t know the man could bend. Han Yoojin’s face turned bright red when he felt Sung Hyunje’s lips wrap around the shaft, sucking hard, capturing all of it.

“Y-You…” Han Yoojin said, only half-aware with his release. Sung Hyunje’s mouth felt good but… but… It was so much. He really must have been bored before Han Yoojin came in and changed everything. In a way it was rather sad, but Han Yoojin was glad he benefitted. And I don’t bore him, he thought. Exceptions, indeed.

When Han Yoojin’s cock was spent, Sung Hyunje licked it clean and pulled away, grinning. “My item tastes good.”

Han Yoojin snorted and leaned his head back as Sung Hyunje went back to thrusting in and out of Han Yoojin’s ass. Each movement felt tight and good, and Han Yoojin hoped the taller man would hurry up and come. Han Yoojin’s back was tired, and his legs were hurting a little. “You’re terrible. The worst.”

Sung Hyunje chuckled, even as he pummeled Han Yoojin’s ass. His balls slapped against Han Yoojin’s backside with each deep thrust, his cock going almost to Han Yoojin’s core each time.

Han Yoojin tried to imagine Sung Hyunje planning the scarf reveal, thinking this whole thing up, probably over tea. But who does that? He wondered. “Why go to such lengths for me?” Han Yoojin asked, needing to know. Is it really just because I’m new and interesting? Because I change things?

For a moment, Sung Hyunje slowed, and his eyes met Han Yoojin’s. There was a look of surprise, and then a soft fondness. “You need me. That’s why.”

Han Yoojin frowned. What?

In that moment, Sung Hyunje slammed home and came, deep within Han Yoojin, pushing Han Yoojin’s thighs all the way back.

Han Yoojin hoped he imagined the seam he was pretty sure he felt tearing.

Sung Hyunje bent over Han Yoojin, pressing his lips to the younger man’s, grunting a little through his release.

Han Yoojin’s thoughts melted under it all. All there was, was Sung Hyunje, bearing down on him. Inescapable. When the kiss finally broke, letting Han Yoojin gasp for air again, Sung Hyunje was still inside him. Han Yoojin slowly drifted back to reality, and tried to imagine getting out of this car and walking around the party like this. It would be embarrassing. A disaster. And the other S-rank Hunters would smell Sung Hyunje on him, probably. They were strange like that. Han Yoojin frowned up at Sung Hyunje. “Did you just do this to make things harder on yourself?” It would be different to field all the questions about this, after all. And hardly boring. Unless  he does this with a lot of people, Han Yoojin thought, darkly.

Though he recalled Sung Hyunje saying Han Yoojin was the first in Sung Hyunje’s home. But he doesn’t have to take them home. That made him imagine Sung Hyunje with a series of nameless faces in cars around the city, and Han Yoojin’s face heated.

Sung Hyunje chuckled. “Maybe. But it’s not that much harder. It’ll let people know what’s mine.” He kissed Han Yoojin’s brow. “And that I won’t let you go.”

Han Yoojin liked the fondness in Sung Hyunje’s words. The possessiveness. Being the focus of a man like Sung Hyunje was compelling, even if he was sometimes terrifying. Han Yoojin had a mana stone full of the man’s power buried in his own chest to show that. Not to mention the scarf. But like this, Han Yoojin felt like he was the entire world. It was heady. “You know they say it’s a newcomer mistake to start with a scarf when learning knitting. You’re meant to start with hats. Did you make hats? Did you fill a room full of practice hats?” The idea of it was ridiculous. But he wanted to know how far Sung Hyunje went, given how Sung Hyunje kept coming to pick him up, give him gifts, and now all of this... In a life of people who paid Han Yoojin little mind but for gossip, the idea of one of the most powerful men there were focusing his all on Han Yoojin… it was amazing. And I still want his power, Han Yoojin thought as he gazed up at those eyes. It’s mine. All mine. He needed to keep Sung Hyunje’s focus.

“It’s an oversight of mine not to make one,” Sung Hyunje replied against Han Yoojin’s hair. “I’ll do better in the future.”

Sung Hyunje’s movements were a bit ticklish, and made Han Yoojin laugh as he replied, “Doing what? Are you going to making a room of scarves?!” He snorted. “I don’t need that. You don’t have to go that far for me.” Though he was pleased, all the same. As long as your eyes are on me, he thought, gazing up at that handsome face. I’ll make sure you’re not bored.

Sung Hyunje chuckled and reached up a hand to cup Han Yoojin’s right cheek in a way that was strangely tender and said, “You have no idea how far I’ll go for you.” Then he leaned in for another kiss.
