Chapter Text

“Hi Steven! Are you okay?” Connie asked as she walked Into Stevens room. “Pearl said you weren’t feeling too well.” She explained.

“No, no I’m feeling Okay, I’m just veryyy tired. If I was sick Pearl would watch me like a hawk!” Steven said chuckling. “I think all this diamond stuff is getting to me, I don’t think I’m getting enough sleep.” He said.

“I can see that, because when I came in you were face down on your bed! Why don’t you take a nap?” Connie asked.

“I’ve been trying to do that! But I cant sleep.” He exclaimed.

“Well, maybe you’ll sleep better when I’m here? I mean it did work on homeworld.” Connie explained sitting next to Steven on his bed.

“I dunno maybe.” He yawned, laid down next to Connie and closed his eyes.

And what did he know? He did sleep better next to Connie!

 
‘Where am I? Did I go into a watermelon Steven again?’ He thought too himself as he looked down at his arms and hands. ‘Huh, these aren’t watermelon arms. And why do I have four fingers? And why are they so chubby? Well, they were already chubby, but even chubbier!’ His train of thought was stopped when someone was calling him.

”Hey, Helloooo? Are you there? Earth too this trolll! A pink troll(?) was calling his name.

”Huh, oh I’m sorry.” Steven said

”It’s okay, but why were you looking so intensely at your fingers? You’re not hurt, are you?” She asked concerned.

“Oh no, don’t worry I was just.. looking for something, yeah!” Steven said nervously.

“Okayyy, are you new here? I haven’t seen you around here before. And what are you doing around here alone? You look pretty young so you should have an adult with you.” Poppy asked curiously but also seriously.

“Oh, I’m not from around here. My family travels around and we visit some cities now and then.” Steven explains his very fast lie.

“Oh okay! That explains it. By the way, what is your name? I’m Queen Poppy!” Poppy says excitedly.

“Im Steven.”

“Well, I’ve got to go now, but it was nice meeting you Steven” Poppy says and walks away off to her Queen duties.

Steven shoots awake.

“Wow! Steven, are you okay?” Connie exclaims.

“Yeah, I just had a dream, but it was so real!” He explains.

“Well, maybe it is real, you do have those powers. Maybe you should the gems about it?” She asks.

“Yeah.. I don’t know though.” He says

“Well you can think about it all you want, but first. Let’s play this game!!” She says.

“Yeah!!” He exclaims.

Chapter Text

Trolls POV

“Hey Branchifer!!” Poppy said excitedly. She was very happy to see Branch, she couldn’t wait to tell him about her day! And to smother him with hugs and kisses, of course.

“Hey Poppy! How are you doing?” He asked, of course he also was excited to see his partner. But while Poppy was bouncing on her toes because she was so excited, Branch still had his calm demeanour. But all the while, his stomach was still doing the flips.

“Good, but I missed you soo much!!” Poppy said sadly. “I also had a strange encounter with someone named Steven! He said he wasn’t from here. Do you maybe know him?” She asked, she really hoped he knew him. She wouldn’t want this stranger to go by unnoticed if he knew him!

“First, I saw you this morning Poppy. And second, I don’t think I know him. Besides, you know more trolls than me.” He answered. It was true, Poppy knew a lot of more trolls than him. Although he knew more trolls than he ever did, he still only knew the names of half of Pop Village.

“So no new sibling?” Poppy asked teasingly.

Branch chuckled at her question. “Haha, no Poppy. No new siblings.” He said.

“Aww.” She pouted. She would love it if Branch had another sibling. But, she also gets that four brothers are enough for Branch “Soooo, what did you do today?” She asked curiously as she snuggled next to him. She loved hearing about his day, of course for the story but also so she could hear his angelic voice.

“Oh nothing much, I just hung out with my brothers. Firstly we went too ….”

“And then we went home” Connie finished. She had shared about the weekend she had before this day.

“Wow Connie! That sounds like it was quite a day!” Steven exclaimed.

“It was, I was sooo tired when I came home. Kinda like you were two hours ago.” She said.

“Mhm, I think I want to tell the gems about what I saw. Do you want to come with me?” Steven asked. He had worked up the courage to tell the gems about what he saw.

“Yeah! Of course. If you want I can help you when it gets tough?” Connie asked, she really wanted to help Steven.

“Okay then, lets go!” Steven said. They walked downstairs together, where conveniently the gems were talking.

“I don’t know Garnet, do you think their ready for it?” Pearl asked

”Well Pearl, I think they are becau- Steve-o, Connie! What are you doing here?” Amethyst asked nervously, they could not know about this. It needed to be a secret.

“Uhm, we wanted to talk too you guys about something. What were you guys talking about?” Steven asked, he was suspicious of the gems.

“Oh, nothing, nothing. It was nothing really, what did you want to talk too us about?” Pearl asked.

“Oh, right! So I had this dream….”
