The day is August eighteenth in 2023. It's a cold cloudy day at the Kents family house in Edinburgh Scotland.Hannah and Alex hear a young merfolk which is called a pup calling for help.
Hannah is walking with their twin brother Percy towards the river. Percy immediately notices that Hannah is instinct driven due to their pupils overtaking his eye color and repeating the word pup in mermish and takes off after Hannah to help save the pup.
Alex was walking on the furthest side of the river since he just went on a ride on their horse Dusan and was about to take Dusan back to the stables but instead took off on him towards the pup.
Hannah was already in the water with Percy; they both have all decided to show all their scars since pups feel safer with those with many scars,fighting off the megalodon.
Alex also with all of their scars out came and took over fighting the megalodon since he is stronger than me since they are older by mer standards so their claws and teeth are sharper than mine. Percy helped by using the child of Poseidon card so you have to listen to me. To get the megalodon off Hannah so that they could escape with the pup.
Hannah was grabbing the pup close to their chest and took off for the cabin to get warm and to take care of the pup.. Alex and percy both acted as a distraction.Hannah noticed while escaping that there was only one other mer there and she was dead but she had a letter which Hannah then grabbed on her. Hannah took the dead mer with him using their magic since his instincts were screaming at them to do it so Hannah did it instinctively.
The letter said “Dear whomever is reading this, Please save my sister if you are reading this I am dead. We are the last of our pod; the rest were killed by the megalodons. We are a pod of Tropical travelers called The Azure Pod. The pups name is Lana Zale Azure and mine is Pasha Aislin Azure I am 19 years old Lana is 1 year old I did my best to protect her I sensed that there were other mers nearby.
I swam this direction knowing that other mers would hear her calls. And that I had already written this letter. I fought with all my might but I am tired and hungry. Take the necklace around my neck. It has all the memories from our pod to show her original pod.
Please take one of my scales, it will be preserved forever so she has something physical of me to hold onto. She already has her wings and will grow with her as she- -ages if you didn’t know that already. Please Protect her and give her a safe and happy childhood as much as you can please. Please give her the life she deserves.
We did live on land when she was born but once she turned one we had to return to the ocean to help her adapt since we were drying up too much and too quickly it was getting suspicious to our neighbors. She already has all of her shots needed in the human world.She has already been potty trained completely. Her birthday is August 13, 2022.Also there is a will it states that whoever finds her has custody of her it’s in my pouch.Thank you. If she ever wishes to remember my last words they are as follows “Swim. You hear me? Swim and don’t look back, not even for me. I need you to promise me, Okay? Now go.GO!

Hannah was in shock. They then silently made a vow to protect Lana as much as possible without and I will be giving her sister Pasha a proper burial. By the time Hannah made it to the pool since it connects to the river when there's an emergency and this counts as one.
Lily Hannah’s personal house elf alerted the parents as soon as she sensed what was going on; she told them what was happening. Lily took Pasha away from Hannah to preserve until Hannah could give her a proper burial.Hannah’s parents know that Hannah and Alex will be extremely protective of the pup.
It’s a good thing that all mers, no matter their age, can transform into a human when dry. Hannah and Alex will have to make sure Lana doesn't dehydrate herself by accident. Hannah silently in a turmoil thinks “I am so thankful that she can eat solids and I don't have to worry about shots and other things.And I don’t need to worry about forging documents as much. I am so thankful that I have already made a nest for the pup subconsciously out of seaweed since right now she needs to be in something calming and soothing to pups.”
Mom & Dad walk in a hurry to the pool. Hannah’sfins flare out and he growls at them. They know that Hannah doesn't mean too, it's just there is a pup in need of protection. And that their instincts are in full control right now.They know that HannahI still doesn't fully trust them because of all their lies they told Hannah.
Mom knows full well that Hannah won't be leaving this pool unless I have too along with alex. Alex and percy swim through the entrance connecting and understand what's going on. Percy sends a look to me so that he will explain what the hades is going on in more detail while me and Alex are deep in our instincts.
Alex growls and swims in front of me and the pup. Then they both realize what they did and say in sync sorry. Mom says “it's alright we knew that was gonna happen.” Hannah then remembered the letter; showed them the note and Mom says “alright Lana is now a part of this family now I just need to forge the adoption thing and show the will to the right people.
I have a feeling you two will be with her for a while and Alex and his mate Aiden will take over full care of her when you go back to school, correct? Hannah and Alex say” yes.” Alex says “Merlin gotta call Aiden. Sis? Will you be alright alone with Lana for a bit while I floo call him? Alex is extremely nervous and does not want to go.”Hannah says yes Alex I know how to take care of a baby and Lily can help me since I don’t do diapers.”in a reassuring voice.
*Alex Walks in ten minutes later with Aiden on their heels. Hannah has just started getting out of the pool with their and lily’s magic helping lift them.Lana wakes up and panics feeling out of the water letting out many distressful chirps.Hannah and Alex instinctively respond with reassuring clicks saying safe-pup-no-hurt-safe-protected.
“Lana its alright its just lilly getting us into land. I am Hannah little one. I promise I don’t plan on replacing your original pod but expanding it little one.” Hannah says with a siren song laced voice. “Sis what are you doing also Aiden is here. Hey Hannah, "Aiden says.
Hannah says off handedly “hey aiden. And to answer you alex. I am getting out so that way I can dry both me and the little one here to get her dressed in warm clothes since I doubt that in human form she's dressed warm and high chance she's in a swimsuit.”
Alex makes a motion that says fair”wait what are we gonna do about a room for her? I thought we would go shopping to let her pick things out alex.Also Oi Aiden why did you follow alex?.” Aiden looks up shocked from reading the letter “Oh I did that since I thought you two would like me to take over the mers funeral for you and to check on the pup.” Aiden Says. Alex and Hannah let out huge signs of relief.
“Thank you Aiden/Love”Hannah and Alex say. “Alex I am gonna go get her dressed with clothes from the nursery since we're dry. Wait, how? Alex percy. Oh right, wait where is Percy? He went to set up a crib in your room since we bunk together a lot and- -so we can get her room set up tomorrow or the next day. Okay Hannah I am gonna follow with you love will you please start taking care of Pasha. Sure that's the mers name right? Yup. Alright I will get on it while you three shop and get Lana taken care of.
*Aiden Walks Away to set up a proper merfolk burial.*
“Alright Lana lets get you into some nice and warm soft clothes. Alex can you go grab some jewelry from each of our stashes temporarily until we go to the stores today? Yeah”. ‘Alex goes and picks out the jewelry Hannah walks Lana to the nursery \comforting and reassuring her.
Alright Lana let me go grab you an outfit while I am carrying you and the stroller so we can get ready to go to the shops. Wait Lilly if it's not a problem can you drive us to the stores to buy the little one things. Oh she fell asleep she must have been tuckered out so we will probably go shopping after she wakes.
Lana raises her little head and says “ No me sdill awake Me jusd lisden do heawdbead an smell you.*Lily says sleeplily. And we just melt. Hannah takes Lana to the nursery for the dolls and helps her pick out an outfit and Lana chooses a minnie mouse onesie.
Hannah says softly okay little one how about we go cuddle in the nest and nap for a bit? Me and Alex will stay and protect you and sing too little one.” Lana sleepily rubs her eyes like little kids do and nods her head. And says in a sleepy voice “Can you sing wile you dake me do dhe nesd?. Hannah says kindly “yes little one.”
Hannah starts singing softly the songs Sail north by Bones, Savage daughter. Lana falls asleep to hannahs gentle gate as they walk towards Alex’s bedroom to Alex’s nest. Hannah mind links Alex saying “Alex just meet me in your nest. Lana fell asleep in my arms while I was singing "and walking. Yes, I am still singing for her.” Alex replies in the mind link alright sis I already raided your jewelry and I just finished mine. Was about to walk to y’all but I will head for the nest then and turn on the fireplace and ocean waves.
Hannah makes it to Alex's room and nudges their foot at the door since it closed on accident. Alex hurries from the nest to get to the door to let them in. All three of them head to the nest. Hannah and Alex start singing together the song daughter of the sea. Percy walks in and offers silently to stand guard at the nest so that way they can lose themself to their instincts safely.
Alex and Hannah both give him a grateful smile. Hannah stays put and stops fighting to keep their instincts at bay and starts braiding the pup's hair. Alex starts covering the pup in jewelry in their instincts. Alex clicks sis-sleep- i guard- percy-guard-safe. Hannah clicks okay-protector while curling around Lana. Hannah falls asleep and it's peaceful. They decide to go shopping another day so they can calm down and reassure Lana that she is safe.
