The Kryze castle on Kalevala was empty, with its sparse halls and corridors echoing under Ahsoka Tano’s boots as she wound her way to her favourite reading room. It wasn’t unusual for the Togruta to be residing at the home of Bo-Katan Kryze without the presence of said Mandalorian. Kalevala had become like a second home to the non-Jedi over the years since the destruction of Mandalore and the end of the Galactic War. Kryze and Tano had been clan by creed for over two decades, and their burcyan had endured two genocides, endless war and numerous heartbreaks. They always found their way back to each other, so Ahsoka made herself comfortable in a cosy chair in front of a small open fire while she waited for her friend and the rest of the Nite Owl fleet to return from their most recent escapade.
The dimming of the day was darkening outside as the fire burned low, and Ahsoka had long ago kicked off her boots as she curled up with her datapad, treating herself to a Kirosian holonovel. Just as she started considering retiring for the evening, she heard the sound of a solo ship fly overhead, recognising the rumbling of its engines that it was a Gauntlet about to land. A little smile tugged at Ahsoka’s lips, and she gave herself to the end of the paragraph to finish reading before going out to greet her friend. She powered down her datapad and started to make her way to the entrance hall, but echoes of angry boots and the uncontrolled rage of Bo-Katan Kryze’s fiery signature within the Force made the non-Jedi pause. Something’s wrong, she thought to herself, and sure enough, when the Lady Bo-Katan Kryze rounded the corner, her expression seethed the fury of a wildfire.
The redhead stopped in her tracks when she saw the Togruta standing in the hall, before throwing her hands in the air in a huff and storming past her. “Kark’s sake Ahsoka, what are you even doing here?”
Ahsoka crossed her arms across her chest, watching her friend’s frustrations roll off her in every direction. “My usual lurking. Am I unwelcome?” Ahsoka drawled back. The Mandalorian ex-regent waved her off and started storming her way to the master bedroom. Ahsoka followed with a slight caution to her step, trying to assess what had brought this mood out of her friend.
“I don’t need this right now, ‘Soka,” Bo-Katan raged as she swept into the room, impatiently yanking at the latches of her armour before rounding on the Togruta again. “Why the kriff didn’t you take that kid on as your apprentice? Was he not pretty enough for you or something?”
Ahsoka let the barbed comment that hinted at Sabine bypass her. Is that what’s got her so fired up? Something to do with Grogu? Bo-Katan was angry and hurting, and was prone to throw verbal darts as a way to dissipate her own pain. The non-Jedi took a breath and sought to see if she could reason with the other woman. “He wasn’t suitable to train with me. He’s too old, too frightened and too attached to his charge. We should also talk about you giving my coordinates out without my knowledge, Bo. You want to track my ship for your own peace of mind, that’s fine, but using it to inform others of my location? I thought that Mandalorian was one of Morgan Elsbeth’s mercenaries and nearly sliced him up.”
“Well, I wish you did! Would have saved me a whole lot of trouble!” Bo-Katan was seated by a dresser, yanking at her greaves, and throwing them into her armoury cabinet without showing the sacred metal her usual respect. Ahsoka softly walked up to her friend, getting Bo-Katan to look directly at her with a finger under the other woman’s chin. Green eyes blazed back at Ahsoka’s light blue ones, and the Togruta still couldn’t understand what caused such anguish in her ori’vod.
“What happened, Bo?” The redhead pulled her head back away from Ahsoka’s hands, and stood to move past the Togruta. Ahsoka knew not to take Bo-Katan’s stubborn avoidance personally. “Where’s the rest of the Nite Owls?” Ahsoka pushed further.
“Gone!” Bo-Katan yelled with wide eyes and gesturing with spread arms as she spun back round to face the non-Jedi. “The entire fleet! Including the light cruiser we’d just liberated! All because that zealot Mandalorian lost his kid to the Imperials and had to win the Darksaber off Moff Gideon during its rescue!”
Ah, that would do it.
Ahsoka kept her features stoic, trying to weigh up where this conversation would lead them. The Darksaber had always been a touchy subject for the Mandalorian. Before the Night of a Thousand Tears, Ahsoka had always humoured Bo-Katan’s superstition of the weapon, always ensuring she’d yield at the end of their sparring sessions as to not ‘defeat’ Bo-Katan and bring her ownership of the weapon into question. She was quietly surprised though, that the charge of Grogu would have kept the weapon for himself. He was slow to accept the beskar spear from her, so she could not imagine him staking claim to the ancient blade that Bo-Katan so fiercely hungered after.
“He kept the Darksaber?” Ahsoka asked incredulously, trying to not sound like she wasn’t believing her friend’s pain.
“No, he offered it to me. I can’t take it on offer. I need to win it back!” Bo-Katan started to pace the room, unconsciously needing to burn off the angry energy pent up inside of her. “I needed to kill him in combat and I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I couldn’t bring myself to kill an innocent, naïve, fellow Mandalorian and so my people turned their backs on me. Even Koska!”
Ahsoka closed her eyes at the last statement. Koska Reeves had always been dear to Bo-Katan. She was as vicious and fiery as the Mandalorian leader herself was, and indulged in Bo-Katan’s laidback attitude to commitment and relationships, enjoying multiple partners both with and without the redhead present. Ahsoka had rarely seen Koska away from Bo-Katan’s side since before the destruction of their home world. This loss would be hurting the other woman more than Bo-Katan would ever admit.
Setting that topic mentally aside to be discussed later, Ahsoka focused on the issue of the Darksaber instead. “Bo, you need to let go of that karked superstition. The blade served you fine when you accepted it from Sabine.”
“Haven’t you been listening, Ahsoka? I never wanted this. They wanted this!” Bo-Katan’s eyes were wide with exasperation as she wheeled round to face the Togruta once more, gesturing with her hands wildly again. “They wanted me to prove my strength in winning the Darksaber back. I would have gladly killed Gideon, a thousand times over, in retribution for everything and everyone he’s taken away from me. For Ursa, for Alrich, for Korkie. But that zealot Din Djarin got to him first. He didn’t even know what he had done. He fought Moff Gideon over the kid and won.”
As the names of the dead not spoken of for some time echoed in both women’s heads, Bo-Katan started to angrily rip off her flight suit, tossing it over the chair of the dresser. Ahsoka decided to slowly linger towards one of the bedside drawers, and opened one up to reveal a silver phallic toy. A strap made of beskar; an unforgiving material for such an object, but it was one of Bo-Katan’s favourites. She’d mentioned it had been a tongue-in-cheek gift from her sister when she came of age. Ahsoka had never pried much into the Kryze sisters’ relationship, knowing that they had been estranged for many years and only briefly reconciled before Satine’s death.
Ahsoka knew when Bo-Katan was this enraged, this hurt, this level of spiralling to the point of imploding, she needed to either fight or fuck, and she needed to win at both.
Bo-Katan had seen the drawer Ahsoka had reached into, and through her anger she was still able to pin Ahsoka with a knowing look before she continued to strip off her clothing. “That karking weapon would have been better to have remained lost,” the redhead continued her rant. “But noooo, Sabine Wren had to go and find it, didn’t she? Sabine Wren had to be a goodie two shoes and give it to me like a grovelling subject that wanted to lick my boots, didn’t she? Sabine Wren should have just kept the Darksaber and ruled Mandalore herself. But no, Sabine Wren was a coward. You know it was the second time she tried palming the Darksaber off to me that I accepted?”
Ahsoka tried not to visibly wince every time her friend said her former padawan, her former lover’s, name. As Bo-Katan stood in just her briefs and her binder bra, Ahsoka started lacing the harness webbing around the redhead, and decided to give reason one last go with the fuming woman. “Sabine was barely twenty years old at the time, Bo-Katan. Would you have wanted a girl so young trying to lead Mandalore?
“Well then, I should have smote her where she stood, then so many of our problems would never have come to fruition.”
That was unkind, even for Bo-Katan. The ex-regent had known what the younger, colourful Mandalorian had meant to Ahsoka, and how the heartbreak of walking away from Sabine Wren plagued the Togruta every day. Ahsoka filed those comments away in her mind to talk about with her friend about later when the explosive emotions would have passed. Instead, she needed to goad Bo-Katan into releasing her angry in a physical sense, and Ahsoka knew exactly how to press Bo’s buttons.
“If you really wanted to win over the Darksaber, then it should be me you’re wanting to kill. Sabine Wren never defeated Maul. I did.”
Ahsoka’s words gave Bo-Katan pause, and the redhead stood with her eyes cast down a moment while she let the meaning of Ahsoka’s revelation sink in. When she looked back up at her ori’vod, her eyes burned of feral rage; an easier emotion for Bo-Katan to handle. She yanked at the harness fastenings to ensure they were tightened to her liking and held the strap in her hand, like she was holding a blade of her own she was about to strike the Togruta down with. She advanced on Ahsoka, who let herself be backed up towards the foot of the bed. She wasn’t going to give in easily to the redhead; the power struggle was part of the dynamic that would help leech the anger out of her enraged friend.
“Then maybe I should fight you, and show you who the more powerful warrior is here.” Bo-Katan’s eyes flashed in dare, and Ahsoka stepped back into her space in challenge.
“You can try, but we both know on a level playing field, I’d always come out on top, Bo.”
Bo-Katan lunged forward into Ahsoka, roughly grabbing the Togruta behind her rear lek and pulling her into a bruising kiss. Ahsoka bit back, using her sharpened canines to pierce the skin of the human woman. The redhead pulled back and wiped at her bloody lip, an evil smile ripping across her face as she inspected the wet, bright red liquid stain her hand. “Is that the best you’ve got?” She leered, before grabbing at the Togruta again.
Ahsoka snarled, flashing her sharp Togrutan fangs as Bo-Katan grabbed for her wrists. She blocked and twisted, stopping the ex-regent from being able to get a firm hold of her. Elbows and fists started to fly, both women catching blows to their arms and shoulders as they struggled to dominate the other. Ahsoka got another bite in, this time to Bo-Katan’s muscular shoulder, not breaking the skin this time but with enough strength to leave a bruise for the morning. It only further fired up the Mandalorian, and Bo-Katan used her stronger-built form to shove the non-Jedi onto the bed, ripping Ahsoka’s harem pants off and mounting her from behind like how a dog would take its bitch. Ahsoka cried out at the beskar phallus intruding into her centre, and fisted the sheets of the bed in her hands as she braced for the hard rutting Bo-Katan was going to subject her to.
She could have ended it at any given moment, with a single wisp of the Force to throw the Mandalorian away, to put her on her back and claim victory. But that wasn’t what Ahsoka wanted to do. She wanted to let her friend feel powerful, in control for a moment, until the fires raging in her eventually extinguished under their own burnout. She didn’t mind their occasional bouts of rough sex, and she knew her friend was getting off on seeing the Togruta hiss and snarl underneath the redhead’s thrusts.
Bo-Katan’s movements were powerful and unrelenting, unsheathing the strap fully before thrusting in back into the Togruta with a buck of her hips. She grabbed Ahsoka’s montrals and used them for leverage to keep the other woman’s chest down but her head up, making her submissive as she fucked her. “Does it look like you’re winning now, jetii?” Bo-Katan hissed between her hard breathing. “Do you think yourself victorious, impaled on the length of my strap?”
“Depends on your definition of winning, ner Mand’alor,” the non-Jedi smirked back, before the redhead pulled Ahsoka’s head further back by her rear lek. The Togruta wailed in the mixture of pain and pleasure, knowing her theatrics would be further stoking the fire that was burning in the Mandalorian’s chest. Ahsoka could feel her own love juices leaking down her legs, and she snaked a hand underneath herself to her own clitoris, rubbing at the bundle of nerves to help bring about her climax. As her pleasure mounted, she reached into the living Force around them and used it to focus on pleasuring her friend as well. As her body stiffened, the hot tingles of ecstasy approaching, she registered Bo-Katan’s own growing moans of pleasure, and as Ahsoka wailed her orgasm, she felt her friend straighten in her own lust ascension before collapsing on top of her, all fury finally quenched.
Ahsoka’s senses came back to her first, and as she propped herself onto her forearms, she looked over her shoulder to the redhead slumped over her behind. She rightened herself and gently manhandled her friend until they were they were both under the covers of the bed, Bo-Katan wrapped up in Ahsoka’s tanned arms. Green eyes brimmed with tears peeked open, and her oldest friend started to shudder with her breathing. “’Soka, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I just… I can’t believe this is happening to me again. I’m all alone. I’ve failed my people again.” Ahsoka pressed her lips to the grieving woman’s forehead, before gently shushing her as she held her ori’vod close. “You’re not alone, Bo. I’ll always be here for you, one way or another. They’ll come round, sooner or later. You’ll see.” Bo-Katan shook her head at the words, clinging to her hurt like a confused, wounded animal. “They won’t. They’re Mandalorians. We don’t see past our own stubbornness and shortfalls.”
A chuckle rumbled in Ahsoka’s chest, and she stroked her fingers through the ex-regent’s fine red locks. “Who’d ever want to be friends with a Mandalorian then, huh?” Despite herself, Bo-Katan sniffed out a small smile. “Only failed jetii who can’t face her own problems, but seems able to fix everyone else’s.” Ahsoka let out a single bark of a laugh at the accurate barb, and pulled the other woman closer in their embrace. She gave Bo-Katan a small, warm kiss, before pulling back and offering the ex-regent one of her dazzling smiles where her sky-blue eyes would twinkle like stars.
They’d be okay. They always were, one way or another. They’d survived so much, together and apart. Ahsoka Tano would help see Bo-Katan Kryze through her latest trial, however she could, because that’s what their burcyan hearkened to; a true friendship indeed.
