Chapter Text
Gabriel sat in a library deep in Elderane's castle, it's been a year since he first entered Avantasia, a year since he lost 2 friends, and a year since he first met Elderane. Gabriel decided today the day he began to look more into Avantasian culture, he had noticed that the kingdom is much cheerful and lively, banners being hung, and special performances being put on. He wondered if any of the books he's been looking into had the answers to his questions.
Gabriel was practically buried in the book he was reading; he didn't hear slow approaching footsteps get closer to him. Suddenly soft hands grabbed his shoulders and a voice behind him shouted "Boo!".
Gabriel practically shot up from his chair with a loud yelp, he turned to see Elderane laughing, once Gabriel's nerve shortly calmed down, he also began to laugh with the elf.
"Sorry my friend, I thought you would have at least heard me before i got close enough" Elderane patted his friend back gently
"Ah uh, I think I felt my heart skip a beat Eld," Gabriel let a deep breath out and pulled himself together "Next time just do a gentle shake that'll be greatly appreciated!"
"Noted! So, what are you reading Gabby?" Elderane pulled a chair close next to Gabriel and sat next to him inspecting the contents of the book.
"Oh, well I noticed that this week has been quite lively around the kingdom! Especially today, and I'm curious on what going on and I thought one of these books could answer my questions"
"I see! Though, if you wanted to know what's going on you could have come to me Gabriel! You know I'm happy to explain anything about Avantasia to you!" The elf smiled at Gabriel, who just widened his eyes a bit in embarrassment. The thought hasn't even crossed Gabriel's mind to ask his friend what the cause of everything happening.
Gabriel smiled awkwardly, "O-Oh yea, I could have! I'll remember that next time, I did however learn a lot about the culture around here! Just not why everyone is celebrating this exact week… Is it because it's been a year since I helped save Avantasia?"
"That's part of the reason yes, but also because there's a once a century meteor passing by tonight! Legend has it anyone who happens outside as the star passes by, disappears to a new world. But the specter is an amazing sight, but we make sure that everyone is cautious and watches from the inside of their homes. This will be my second time seeing this in my life!"
Gabriel forgot that Elderane is more than a century old, elves' lifespans much longer than any human. Gabriel gently shut the book and held it in hand smiling looking at Eld.
"Then this will be my first time seeing this with you!"
"Yes! We can watch it together! I'm so excited I'll make sure the experience is great for you, my friend!" They both held hands and stood up and left the library.
Gabriel can't wait to see this wonderful event unfold in his lifetime.

Scarecrow sat at a bus station near a club he just performed at, it took him quite a while to finally build up the courage to begin performing once again. After almost a year of daring not to touch his guitar, he picked up once again. His passion for music is coming back, this time he won't make the mistake of taking the easy way out of his problems. No one deals with manipulating demons; he will earn his fame on his own.
Crow lifted his head up when he heard the loud engine of the bus approaching the stop, he stood up grabbing his guitar case and hopping on the bus the moment it opened its doors. He took note that the bus wasn't too full at the moment, he awkwardly scooted towards an empty seat in the middle roll and sat next to the window placing his case near the edge of the seat.
He looked out the window as the bus begin to move, he tried to ease his attention outside but couldn't help but eavesdrop on a conversation happening behind him.
"I'm telling you Bill! You have to see this comet, literally a once in a lifetime sight!"
"It's just a stupid rock that gets a bit too close to Earth, it's not that special bro! You're goanna forget about the thing in like a day after seeing it!"
"Whatever, don't be upset when you're on your deathbed and regret not seeing the thing, Bill."
Crow couldn't help but chuckle to himself quietly, just a meteor shower sure another one will come up in a few months. He rests his head on the bus window and counted the money he made from his recent gig, 100 dollars.
The bus is heading towards Mentor's apartment, he is glad that the man is letting him once again stay with him. Crow wouldn't have blamed him if he rejected and left Crow to fend for himself on the streets, especially after how much of an asshole he was when he had fame.
There's a bar near the apartments, maybe he can drop all his supplies up and go for a quick drink or two. Nothing strong, just a quick treat for himself, he'll bring Mentor his favorite drink back too.

Aaron sat in his workshop, hyper focusing on his latest client clock, so focus that he hasn't realized that multiple hours have passed, and the sun was beginning to set
As Aaron was about to put the last piece of the puzzle to get the clock back and ticking, he noticed that he didn't have the right size gear, it was too small. He sighed frustratingly, he quicky paced around the room opening and closing, digging through drawers getting increasingly more frustrated as he couldn't find the right size piece.
He took a peek at his pocket watch, "Great! I still have time!" He grabbed his teal trench coat and his top hat quickly slipping both of them on and began his journey to the store.
He'll be damned if he doesn't finish this clock tonight, even if it means pulling another all nighter.

Entity stared at the setting sunlight coming from the cracks of a curtain, just another hour he'll be able to venture out. The shadows are where he belongs, where the sun or humans can hurt him.
He sat on the floor patiently; he tapped his foot while humming to himself. The other night he spoke with Moon, she mentioned something about a meteor shower happening this night. Though she warns Entity this should be the one night he should stay inside, before Entity could ask why the sun was rising and she had to return back to the night sky.
Entity scratched his head still wondering why she would have wanted him to stay inside, surely, she wasn't saying that so she could watch the show just on her own right? No, his friend wouldn't do anything like that at all, Entity hoped she didn't.
He sighed to himself, and leaned against the hard wall and he watched the light get darker and darker.

Gabriel noticed that it was already dark out he could see the stars, lanterns on the streets began to light on their own. No matter how long he's been here, he's still amazed by how magic is used in everyday life.
He saw everyone in the streets making their way towards their houses, to prepare for the meteor shower. Gabriel begins to speed up his journey towards Elderane's home. This night is perfect, just him and Elderane, tonight he'll let Eld know his feelings for him.
It took a year for Gabriel to realize that he won't be killed for loving another man, it took a year for Gabriel to come to terms with his sexuality. He knows he is safe in Avantasia, but the anxiety sets in as he thinks about what could happen. Does Elderane think the same about him? What would Eld's reaction be? Will he think of himself differently if he does reject him?
Gabriel shook his head, it's just his nerves getting to him. He has known Elderane for a year, he's the kindest man he has literally forgiven him for being the reason Regrin died. Eld won't think differently of Gabriel just for confessing he loves the elf…but what if.
Before Gabriel could begin to overthink again, he spotted a beautiful flower from the corner of his eye, quite far from the path. Surely, he has enough time to grab it, it'll be a lovely gift for Elderane. Gabriel glanced up at the sky, just the stars lit the night he quickly made his way towards the flower. Stopped in his tracks to pick it up and realize the plant is rooted much deeper than he thought, he tugged on it a few times. He tried pulling from different angles hoping to somewhat loosen it up, all attempts failed.
Gabriel stood up straight and sighed, he hoped he could have pulled it but accepted it's not going to loosen up. He made his way back to the path when suddenly he noticed the ground seemed to get brighter. He shot his head up and saw the night sky looked as if the sun had risen, then it set in.
"THE COMET!!" Gabriel panics as he begins to run to the nearest shelter he could find, everything getting brighter by the second. Everything suddenly went white, and Gabriel screamed as it felt as if the ground beneath him disappeared.

Scarecrow exited the bar with a few bottles in hand, he drank a few before leaving so he was a bit tipsy but still was able to process where he was going. He just had to walk a few blocks to the apartments. How bad could it be?
"Just keep going straight and you'll be fine." He thought to himself, he took note how eerily empty the streets were tonight. He opened his flip phone to check the time, barely past 10:30. "Odd for a Friday night…"
Crow shrugged and continued his journey towards the apartments, he was actually enjoying the calmness of this night, just the sound of nature. He looked up at the sky thinking back on the conservation he heard when he was on the bus, he did wonder if he missed that comet that guy mentioned. He hated to admit it, but he was kind of curious about it.
All he saw was the normal twinkling stars, such a clear night. He stared at the sky smiling a bit, then noticed it seemed to be getting brighter. His interest quickly grew, he looked off to the side and noticed a white streak making its way through the sky making it get brighter and brighter. In fact, it was getting blindingly bright, Crow began to squint his eyes then shut them tightly covering his face.
He couldn't help but take a step back, suddenly it felt like he stepped off the edge of a cliff. He yelped loudly as he began to fall…

Aaron sat down some gears at the counter of the shop, he grabbed a few things that he knew he could use to fix some other clocks. He placed down what he owed and walked out with his purchases; he checked his pocket watch he was making great time. Tonight, he'll surely finish fixing this clock, he will have it done just before it hits midnight.
He took note of his surroundings, nice and calm, just the sound of wind blowing filled his ears. Odd, there's at least a wagon even some beggars out and about why did it feel so empty?
He shook his head, he had to focus on getting home. He can question this once he is back in his workshop. He kept his focus straight ahead not batting an eye, at least not until suddenly the area got brighter?
Aaron groaned loudly as he turned around expecting it to be the Specters bothering him, " I swear if-" His attention shifted up towards the sky as he saw it get brighter as a streak shot across.
Aaron stood in awe but quickly snapped his focus back to getting home, he had to finish this project he has no time to watch this light show unfold. He begin to walk again but suddenly it became harder to see the path ahead of him as his surrounding area got brighter. He knew he was close to home, just a few more steps and he'll be on his block, he took a step and quickly dived down suddenly.
He held onto his hat and his glasses as he fell into a void of white screaming…

Entity ran through the woods smiling, he knew of a nice cliffed area that would be the perfect spot to sit and watch the meteor showering. Anything that had to do with space felt like home to him. Leaves crumbled under Entity's feet as he got closer to the cliff area, he pushed the branches in his path away.
Finally he made it, he stood at the edge looking down there more wooded areas and even a little town in the distance. Standing so close to the edge didn't worry him, he knew that if he did accidentally slip he could just fly back up. He slowly lowered himself and sat on the grass running his hand through it.
He soon laid down looking up at the sky, the moon shining brightly. He wondered if his friend would notice he's out after she told him not to come out tonight. Entity thought if she found out would she be mad at him? Entity begins to make himself sad with these thoughts, she really wouldn't be mad at him for stepping out right? Maybe he should go back to his shelter, he decides he will head back right after the comet passes by.
Entity laid in silence waiting excitedly for the show to begin, he then noticed a white dot getting bigger leaving a bright streak behind it. His eyes shined as he watched amazed by it, he couldn't help but sit up. His excitement slowly been to turn into worry as everything got brighter, he covered his eyes and stood up in panic.
Any bright light gives him a horrible headache and makes him weak, he let out a fearful cry as he suddenly feels himself begin to fall. He tried to catch himself with his wings, but the light was too bright. He couldn't feel his wings, he teared up as he let out a cry for help just to be met with silence…
