Jane Doe watched as all her new friends stood together, all unanimously agreeing she deserved to live. She felt a strong eternal gratefulness. She hopes she doesn't forget them. She will miss them all dearly.
She turned toward the tunnel of light, knowing she will finally know who she is. slowly, she starts to walk toward it.
Karnak began, “ Her name is- “
But he never finished his sentence. A loud screech filled the warehouse, Karnak started speaking nonsense. Panic stricken, Jane Doe did the one thing Karnak said not to do. She looked back. She saw the choir members huddled together, terrified of what's to come. She feels a force pulling her out of the portal, back toward the warehouse. She stumbles to the ground, and everything goes black.
After some moments, the lights come back on. The choir members steadily separate. Constance sees Jane on the ground, she helps her up, asking if she's alright. She doesn't say a word. The others try talking to Karnak, but Jane isn't paying them any attention. She was so close. She almost found out her name, even if it wouldn't have been her old one, it would have been hers, and she lost it.
The tears fall in steady streams, Jane doesn't even know it's happening.
