Temptations Wrought by the Devil's Wine

Summary:

The last thing Topaz expected was to have a one-night stand with a stranger the evening before she started her dream job at the IPC.

To make matters worse, Topaz was sure this stranger was the woman of her dreams.

The only problem: this woman was her best friend’s boss and a senior manager at her new job.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Topaz was going to kill Aventurine.

After all, it had been his plan to come to this club, convincing Topaz that this was all to celebrate her.

Flashback

"You start your new job tomorrow! We need to party!"

"That's the worst idea you've ever had."

"Topaz!" Aventurine pouted. "Even Ratio agrees with me. Don't you, babe?"

Ratio just shrugged, clearly not caring either way.

"Trust me, once you start the new job, you won't even have time to go out."

"Considering we'll be working for the same company, that should scare me," Topaz murmured.

Although she suspected that Aventurine was exaggerating to get his way, Topaz also knew he wasn’t wrong about how hectic things would get before she felt comfortable in her new position.

And until that happened, Topaz was certain she wouldn't be partying.

"Just one drink," Topaz warned him.

"Just one," Aventurine promised, linking arms with Ratio. "Now let's go; I've heard great things about this new club that opened downtown."

"If it just opened, I don't think it'll be that simple to get in," Topaz said.

"That's why we have Ratio with us," he winked at his boyfriend. "He's good friends with the owner."

"You are?"

Ratio nodded.

"A friend of mine thought owning a club was a good investment. Or at least, that's what she keeps telling people. We all know she did it because she felt bored."

"You say that, but you'll see how much she'll be making in two months," Aventurine grinned. "Anyway, let's go! The night is young, and so are we!"

End of Flashback

Topaz knew Aventurine would only pay a little attention to her with Ratio there. Not that she wanted to get in their way, but now that the two had gone to the dancefloor, Topaz was sitting alone at one of the tables.

She knew she should have been more upset with Aventurine, considering they were here to celebrate her. Still , she had expected him to do this. After all, when it came to Ratio, Aventurine seemed to forget about everyone else on the planet.

It was disgustingly charming, to be honest.

Yet, as charming as she found it, Topaz grew bored of being alone. The later it got, the louder and stupider people got, to the point that someone almost spilled a drink on her new shirt.

"That's it; I'm leaving," Topaz muttered, ignoring the drunk man trying to apologize to her.

She wasn't worried about Aventurine and Ratio. She knew they would get back home regardless of whether she was with them. Grabbing her purse, Topaz started heading out, which meant passing by the VIP section. Unsurprisingly, it was crowded, with many of the lounges already occupied. Squeezing past the people still trying to make their way to the main floor, Topaz was pushed to the side, feeling herself bump into someone, followed by cold liquid dripping down her shirt.

Red wine. A white shirt's worst enemy.

"Fuck," Topaz groaned, closing her eyes. "I liked this shirt."

"It looked good on you," she heard someone say. "I feel awful about being the one responsible for ruining it."

Looking up, Topaz almost froze. In front of her was the most gorgeous woman she had ever seen. And not to brag, but Topaz had met many beautiful women.

"It wasn't your fault," she said after a moment, blushing. "Were it not for you being there, I might have fallen and hurt myself."

"And we wouldn't want that, would we?" the woman smirked, getting close to Topaz as she examined her shirt. "If we try to clean this now, we might have a chance of salvaging it."

"Clean it now?" Topaz asked, stunned.

"Of course," the woman smiled. "Humor me? I've been told I have a magic touch," she winked, and Topaz wasn't sure if this woman was flirting with her or if she just loved teasing people by talking in innuendos.

Topaz nodded, following the woman into the VIP section, her gaze focused on where she assumed the VIP restrooms were.

"There are fewer people in here," the woman said, opening the door to the private bathroom and helping Topaz inside.

"I guess there are perks to being in the VIP section," Topaz mused, examining the well-decorated room. "The regular bathrooms suck."

"I wouldn't know. This is my first time here in this club, and a friend of a friend knows the owner, so she recommended a lounge," she nodded, staring at Topaz.

Topaz stared back, not sure of what she should do next.

"I need the shirt if I'm going to try to clean it," the woman chuckled, making Topaz remember why they were even in the bathroom.

"Oh, right!" she blushed, carefully unbuttoning her shirt. "Here," she whispered, handing it to the woman.

"Thank you, darling," she purred, their hands touching.

While the woman cleaned her shirt, Topaz acted as casually as possible.

Then again, that was really hard to do, considering she was wearing just her bra and pants.

"Forgive me for taking longer than expected," the woman suddenly said, making Topaz flinch. "I want to make sure I get out as much as I can,” she looked at her as her hands carefully cleaned her shirt with soap and hot water.

"This is more than I would have expected anyone else to do; you didn't have to," Topaz murmured. "It's just that it feels super strange to stand shirtless in front of someone when I still don't know their name," she blushed as she said the last part.

The woman stared at her, the task of cleaning her shirt momentarily forgotten. Almost as if she was considering how to answer her.

The room started to feel warmer, and Topaz moved from side to side, unsure what to say to break the silence.

Had she somehow messed things up?

"My name is Eve," she said after a brief pause, returning to cleaning the shirt.

"I'm Jelena," Topaz whispered, unable to hide her shyness. "Thank you for helping me, Eve."

The woman's gaze softened.

"It has been my pleasure to help you," she smiled, returning the shirt to Topaz. "To be quite honest, I was growing bored of the place. Meeting you has been the highlight of my evening."

"I wonder what type of fun you tend to have if accidentally spilling your red wine on me is your definition of fun," Topaz said, realizing how rude that sounded.

Damn it, she was too accustomed to talking with Aventurine that she now lacked a common sense filter when talking to strangers.

Before she could apologize, Eve laughed.

"Lately, not much fun, to be blunt," she purred, getting into Topaz's personal space. "But perhaps you can help change that?"

Topaz gulped, the blush on her face increasing.

Could this really be happening to her?! Was she getting propositioned at a VIP bathroom in a club?

As embarrassing as it was to ask, Topaz needed to ensure she was reading things correctly.

"Forgive me if I'm missing the queues here, but I just want to confirm I understand things correctly," she said confidently, which made Eve smile. "You've been flirting with me, right?"

Eve giggled but nodded.

"And now you're saying you want us to get out of here together?" Topaz couldn't help but sound hopeful.

Instead of answering her, Eve kissed her, making Topaz moan.

"Is that enough of an answer, darling?" Eve asked her with a smirk.

"I'm not that oblivious," Topaz pouted, which made Eve laugh.

"Too cute," she said, her hands roving over Topaz's body. "But at the same time, so hot," she groaned. "I want you badly."

Topaz closed her eyes, too turned on by what was happening to consider whether spending the night with Eve before her new job started was right.

She knew it wasn't. And yet, she felt herself moving closer to Eve, grabbing her face in her hands and crashing their lips together, using her tongue to beg for entrance.

Topaz couldn't deny it anymore.

She wanted this woman, too.

"Where?" Topaz whispered, biting her ear. "Where shall we go?"

"My hotel," Eve groaned, stepping back before she grabbed Topaz's hand and led her out of the bathroom.

As Eve led her out of the club, Topaz noticed that she didn't go back to talk to anyone, making her wonder if she had also been alone. But, to further add to her surprise, Eve got them inside a black limousine, which immediately took off from the club.

Staring at the fine details of the car, Topaz was now sure that her evening's paramour was loaded. It did not bother or make her feel insecure, but she wondered what Eve could have seen in her.

Once they got to the hotel, Topaz waited for Eve to lead the way, trying not to gasp at its opulence. She had read stories about this place in the newspaper and how expensive it was to rent a night here.

"My company spared no expense," Eve explained as the two entered the elevator.

"Does that mean you're here on business?" Topaz asked, noticing how her question made Eve tense up. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," she added.

"You're too kind," Eve kissed her hand. "I don't tend to discuss my work with my paramours," she murmured, pushing Topaz against the elevator wall. "I hope you understand."

"No work talk, got it," she moaned, wanting to kiss Eve again.

"There's a big, comfy bed just a couple of steps away, darling," Eve chuckled as she kissed Topaz's neck.

"You're just too irresistible," Topaz groaned, opening her eyes in surprise when she felt Eve bite her neck.

"Oops," Eve smirked, stepping back into the hallway before Topaz could retaliate. She rushed towards her hotel room, taking her room card out to unlock the room. Topaz ran after Eve, waiting until she saw her open the door before she carried her from behind.

Eve chuckled, turning Topaz's face so the two could kiss again.

"You, my dear, keep getting more and more interesting," she whispered. "Now, take me to bed," she growled, pulling Topaz's hair.

"Eve," Topaz whimpered, using her foot to close the door behind them.

Confidently, she carried Eve to the bedroom, making sure not to trip over the many bags messily spread across the room.

"I wasn't expecting any visitors," Eve murmured, seemingly embarrassed for the first time since the evening started.

"If you think I'm looking at anything else but you, you're very mistaken," Topaz purred as she let Eve fall on the bed, quickly pinning her down before crashing their lips together.

"Flattery will get you anything," Eve smiled.

"Will it get you to remove your clothes?" she joked.

"If that's what you want," Eve gasped, letting Topaz remove her dress and underwear.

"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," Topaz whispered, moving downwards so she could kiss all of Eve.

"And you, my dear, are just as exquisite," Eve moaned, opening her legs more.

As Topaz kissed her, she could feel Eve grow wetter, her hands pulling her hair to where she wanted Topaz's tongue to be. And for Topaz, who was used to being on top, it felt good to be bossed around. In fact, she didn't remember feeling as turned on as she now was while licking someone else's pussy.

"Yes, right there, Jelena," Eve whimpered, her legs squeezing tight as she reached her peak.

Topaz moaned, moving up to kiss Eve, letting her taste herself.

"That was wonderful," Eve whispered, licking Topaz's lips. "Allow me to return the favor," she winked, helping Topaz move up so she could sit on her face.

The sight of Eve below her almost made her cum.

Topaz didn't lack experience when it came to sex. But, as Jade ate her out, using her hands to caress her breasts and legs-- Topaz couldn't remember anyone else doing such an excellent job pleasuring her.

It scared her, for a brief moment, because she knew she would never see Eve again.

"Come for me, Jelena," she heard Eve say, followed by her tongue moving against her clit.

Topaz whimpered, blackening out while she experienced the most earth-shattering orgasm of her life.

"I can't believe she's going to be late," Aventurine muttered while standing outside the IPC’a main office.

Last night, when he convinced Topaz to go to the club, he had done so because he wanted to dance with Ratio. And, knowing Topaz, she would get bored and head home or simply wait for them while having some drinks.

But when the two returned to their table to get her, Aventurine was surprised to see it was empty. He didn't have any messages from her, which worried him a bit. In fact, the only reason he didn't call her was because Ratio told him to calm down and that, most likely, Topaz left with someone.

But it was almost nine, and still no sign of Topaz.

He took his phone out.

"Aventurine!" he heard Topaz say, looking slightly disheveled.

Aventurine knew what this all meant.

He smirked.

"Well, well. And here you had poor me feeling all worried," Aventurine grinned.

"Stop it," she groaned.

"You know me better than that," he chuckled, helping Topaz with some of the things she was carrying.

When he noticed what exactly he was holding, he laughed.

"Isn't this the shirt you were wearing last night?"

Topaz blushed.

"Someone spilled red wine on it," she murmured.

"And had it dry-cleaned in less than ten hours?" he winked at her. "They must have liked you."

"Stop it, Aventurine," she closed her eyes.

This made Aventurine stop his teasing and turn serious.

"Did something happen, Jelena?"

Topaz shook her head.

"Nothing much, just that I probably met the woman of my dreams, and I'll never see her again."

Aventurine smiled.

"It was that good?"

"It was more than that, Kakavasha. The way we talked, how she felt in my arms," Topaz closed her eyes. "It felt right," she huffed.

"I assume you have no way of contacting her?"

"I woke up the next morning to a thank you note and my shirt all cleaned up. There was no phone number or information to contact her," Topaz muttered.

"I'm sorry," Aventurine offered. "But perhaps it's for the better? You're just starting a new job, so maybe this was the Aeons' way of telling you right now is not the right time."

Topaz chuckled.

"Bullshit. When have we ever let the Aeons decide how we do things?"

"Good point," he smirked, stopping Topaz from walking. "Also, look there," he pointed toward a man with a purple suit and blonde hair. "That's Opal, one of the senior managers of the Strategic Investment Department and your future boss," he grinned, not noticing how Topaz's gaze was frozen on the woman standing next to him.

When he did, he winked at her.

"Don't even think about it, tiger," he grinned. “As tempted as you might be, it's better to steer away from that woman," he said as he got closer to Topaz. "That's Jade of Credit, the second senior manager of the Strategic Investment Department and my boss."

"Your boss," Topaz said softly.

"I've told you about her, haven't I? How there's this ongoing rumor about her and her Bonajade Exchange," he air quoted. "Which is some sort of agreement she makes with people she wishes to sleep with."

Topaz didn't know what to say, too flabbergasted by what Aventurine was saying and connecting it with her memories of Eve and their time together.

Perhaps Topaz was misremembering her. After all, everything happened so quickly that it could be possible that Eve just happened to look like this Jade of Credit.

A coincidence, nothing more.

Right?

"There she is!" both Aventurine and she heard Opal say as he came to meet them, Jade following him. "My new diamond in the rough," he laughed, nodding to Topaz. "Having her join the IPC will be the move of her career."

Topaz nodded, too shocked with having Eve in front of her because, up close, Jade was definitely the woman she had spent the night with.

"You are always so crass when complimenting people, Opal," Jade chuckled. "Aventurine, how have you been?"

"All good, Madam Jade. Just about ready to send you that report you requested," he grinned.

"Perfect. And you, darling ," she said to Topaz, who couldn't stop herself from flushing, remembering Eve moaning that over and over as she was fucking her. "Are a sight for sore eyes," she smiled. "Jelena."
