Chapter Text
It was a typical day for the demonic triangle Bill Cipher. He had made a bit of trouble, caused some mayhem. Destroyed a few dimensions and now he was ready to go home and take a long soak in a bubble bath. But on his way home, as he walked along a dimensional highway. A tuft of grey hair on the side of the highway caught his attention. So he walked over and looked over the edge. Laying in a dugout ditch, was none other than his famed enemy Ford Pines. Fast asleep.
When Bill Cipher came closer to Pines who was laying on his side in the dirt. His presence stirred the sleeping man awake. Ford Pines then pushed himself up into sitting position, his brown eyes settling on Bill Cipher who hovered over him ominously.
“Well, well, well If it isn’t Ford Pines, do you know how long I have been waiting for this mome-”
But in the middle of his dramatic speech, Ford Pines interrupted Bill by asking him a very obscure question.
“Who are you?”
“You’re kidding me? Is this your way of messing with me Ford?” Bill squinted his eyes at Ford Pines, who looked back at him in confusion. Bill looked over the dishevelled man, noticing his banged up appearance, grungy red sweater and the golf ball sized lump on the side of his head.
Amnesia?
Bill thought that sort of thing only happened in movies. No it couldn't possibly be, Ford had to be tricking him in some way and he was not about to fall for it.
“There is no way I’m falling for this ac-”
“You called me Ford, is that my name?” When he asked that question it confirmed everything that Bill had been thinking and he deflated like an undercooked cake. It was amnesia for sure. “Yes that’s your name…”
Bill Cipher then sat down in the ditch, next to the amnesiac Ford who was staring at the sky blankly. The demon confused by this situation.
What was he going to do with a mortal enemy that didn’t even remember his own name? Without the verbal sparing that normally went on between Ford and himself, there would be no build up, no tension, no drama and without drama oh what was even the point of revenge?
Getting rid of the amnesiac Ford as he was now would be like taking candy from a baby. Unsatisfactory.
The demon had been drawing triangles in the dirt with his finger for what seemed like hours glumly, when the answer came to him in the form of a most insidious plan.
“You asked who I am…” Cipher asked.
“Yes, I did.” Ford said.
“I am your husband, Bill Cipher.” The demon answering him with glee.
Bill knew that by tricking the proud and arrogant Ford into believing he was married to his worst enemy, that he would be subjecting him to a fate worser than death. Whether Ford remembered him or not.
