Chapter 1: Beginning - Sudden Attacks

Chapter Text

Location: Springfield - Massachusetts

Year: 2015

He stared hard at the table as he tried to recall his attacker, and began describing the person that scarred him, possibly for life.

The detectives tried their best to get as much information as they could and help the poor guy cope with who he saw. The man was probably about six feet tall, wearing a red hoodie, with light faded jeans, and even though he had a mask on, the victim was able to see that he had short blonde hair.

The detectives sigh in frustration as they turn to see their evidence. "This is the fourth victim now, but the first to be attacked, do you think this links up to these annoying bandits going around town?" Asked one of the detectives with gelled auburn brown hair. "Not sure, but this is getting out of hand." He murmured back to his colleague.

"Excuse me sir, what else happened tonight? Were there more people involved?" Asked the detective in charge of this case, who has short brown hair, brown eyes and is muscular.

The attacked man shakily replied, "When I was pushed to the ground I did see other silhouettes... but it was too dark to see their faces... but I think maybe two other guys were there. Please Detective Hughes I'm scared of what might happen if these thugs keep running amok in town, please do something!" The man grabs onto the detective's arm, Hughes.

"Yes, we are doing the best we can to capture them. Don't worry, we already came up with a plan to protect all the citizens from them. I am just surprised they actually attacked someone." Detective Hughes stares at the evidence that is mapped out, annoyed.

The focus went straight to their evidence board. With pictures of someone in a dark hoodie slightly blurred, signifying they moved fast. It was hung up with a red string following the next picture. It was a map of the side of the town, but it was highlighted to show the hidden getaways. They were able to shut down all but one camera. To which the disguised men posed then shot out the camera. They left behind the same graffiti they have been seeing around town lately on the wall.

He'll do his best to solve this case and arrest these annoying bandits. It's aggravating him at how they keep outsmarting him. Him?! He's the best of all and not to mention... Looking at the lighter he has in his hand. Kurtis has to uphold his father's reputation, staring at a frame on his desk with him as a kid, his mother, and finally his father, who's reflection is barely shown as the lights in the office shine on his dad's face.

Some time has passed and the gentleman with slicked back auburn hair finishes up on the report of the man that was attacked. It seems that the man was walking to his car after closing his shop when he was then attacked, "Man these kids are really something huh Kurt? Attacking a person tonight all for what? Just get a job." Leaning back on his chair, the nameplate on his desk read Lee Cooper. Staring at his partner blankly then sighed, "You would think that would be the correct way of life, right Coop."

Kurtis Hughes and Lee Cooper are detectives in the small town, they are known as one of the greatest detectives, but about six months ago a group of bandits entered the town causing trouble. As great as they are, the two detectives seem to have met their match against these thugs.

They have been trying hard to track them down, but every time they have them cornered, the group would disappear without a trace. "Well, it seems like the Captain ain't too happy about this either." They both turned to see their captain in his office on the phone with a grim look on his face, probably having a terrible call.

Hughes gets up and goes outside to get some fresh air, as Cooper reviews the evidence once more. Hugh steps out exhaling the smoke of his cigarette and grunts at how annoyed he is about this case. He stays out about five minutes and returns inside just to see the captain waving him into his office with Cooper inside already.

Entering the office, Kurtis sat down on the chair. "Well, I hope you and detective Cooper are having a nice time. Capturing these bandits." "But Capt'n we're trying our best! You know that! It's just... ugh these damn hooligans," Detective Cooper running his hand through his gelled hair. Hughes sighed, rubbing his temples from the headache he's been having all night, "Captain, we will retrace our steps and speak to more witnesses, as well as going over the evidence in spots we perhaps missed, if you are able to give us more time... we can assure their capture."

The Captain sighs now, "Detectives, it is not that I don't have my trust or confidence in you, it is that damn Deputy Chief. He does not see the trouble of these bandits. He was more upset that we're wasting our police work on this case instead of other duties. It backfires on me since not only are these bandits robbing us, they actually put hands on a citizen. And the question is, why? For the past six months since they've arrived I have not heard a citizen say they were attacked, so why now? Something is up." The Captain narrowed his eyes on the paperwork. "Well, please continue your work detectives, but time is something I am not sure I can give you gentlemen. Dismissed." Both detectives nodded, angry about the conversation they had, and started on their work.

They will catch these bandits as soon as they get the chance.
