with your eyes (i'm forever undone)

Summary:

Haruno Sakura dies during the Fourth Shinobi War and gets reborn in a world inhabited by curses, where the curse spirits are afraid of her due to the chakra still running in her veins. She is not aware of sorcerers until she meets a certain white haired man by chance who reminds her of her former sensei. When they first meet, sparks instantly fly. Unfortunately, Gojo Satoru is going to be her teacher and Sakura tries her best not to get affected by him. (Sakura/Gojo)

Another crossover idea that I just can't shake. This has been languishing in my google docs and gathering dust. Now it is alive.

Chapter Text

Sakura becomes fully aware when she is two years old. Slowly, she begins to remember who she was before by the time she is a toddler. She remembers that she died during the Fourth Shinobi War after she sacrificed herself to save her teammates. So she doesn't waste her time at all to start training with the intent of regaining back her previous physical strength.

Surprisingly, there is still chakra in her new world and she takes advantage of it. She also realizes that she might be the only one who is able to wield it.

Hence, she trains very hard but in secret.

She is two and a half years old when she manages to sneak a leaf from outside and starts using it for her leaf exercise.

It is when her parents are both asleep during the night that she takes out the leaf which she has hidden in her pillow earlier.

"I hope I still have my perfect chakra control…" she whispers. Her pronunciation on the words is still not good but it is still understandable.

Sakura stares at the leaf in her hand and begins to pour chakra in it little by little. She can sense her chakra spreading across the leaf. When she is sure that her chakra is evenly distributed, she then presses the leaf in her forehead.

The leaf remains stuck in her forehead.

1…2…3…4… She begins to count silently.

As soon as it hits four, the leaf slowly begins to fall from her forehead.

"Four seconds! Yes!" She can't help but exclaim happily, but then she instantly quiets down when she realizes that she is being too loud.

She listens carefully and waits for someone to come to her room. No one does. Her parents are still asleep.

Thereafter, she starts from the beginning again and pours chakra into the leaf. When the chakra is spread evenly across the leaf, Sakura places it on her forehead again and waits.

1234…5…6...7…She mentally counts.

As it reaches seven, the leaf drifts down.

It got stuck longer than before! She thinks excitedly. I will not stop practicing until I have the leaf stuck in my forehead for a minute!

Sakura continues to do the leaf exercise. She senses it when her chakra coils start to expand and adapt to her chakra usage. However, as time passes by, she begins to get tired and her chakra becomes dangerously low.

She doesn't want to pass out from chakra exhaustion. So she stops after she reaches forty-five seconds and then she goes back to sleep.

It is already past four in the morning when she does so but she goes to sleep with a smile on her face despite her exhaustion.

Two weeks after successfully doing the leaf exercise, Sakura also begins to practice wall walking since she can't do tree walking for fear of being discovered. Because if she goes out in the middle of the night, her parents might check up on her and they will find out that she is not in her room. So she opts for the wall walking instead of the tree walking exercise.

It is in the middle of the night when she does it. Her parents remain oblivious to her nightly activities.

Usually, her parents leave the nursery room door open at night. However, Sakura makes sure that it is close just to muffle the sounds inside her room in case she falls down during her wall walking exercise.

After making sure that the door is closed, she then stands half a meter near the wall. She assesses the wall for a moment.

Hmn…The wall looks sturdy enough and I am not that heavy…She thinks. I am sure that it can support my weight if I walk up to it. Well, time to find out…

Sakura begins to pour chakra into her feet and distributes it equally. After a few seconds, she is finished and she tentatively places her right foot on the wall, where it sticks.

She then raises her left foot on the wall and it too sticks. She smiles happily at her success. However, it is not over yet. She still needs to walk up and down the wall and see how long she can remain there.

Slowly and carefully, Sakura begins to walk up the wall. She manages three steps upward when her feet start to loosen from the wall and she begins to fall. She flips mid-air and lands on the ground with a thud. Fortunately, it is not loud enough to wake up her parents.

Once more, she gathers chakra at her feet, spreads it evenly, and sticks them on the wall before she begins to climb upward. She has taken five steps upwards when she begins to slip from the wall again. Carefully, she allows herself to fall and starts all over again.

Sakura continues to do the wall walking exercise until she runs low on chakra. By that time her chakra is exhausted, she has managed to walk up and down the wall repeatedly and even walk on the ceiling.

Overall, it was a successful night.

"The next thing I need to do is water walking, but I don't know where I can do it. My parents watch me closely during the day and I can't really sneak out of my room at night without alarming my parents. So how do I go about this?" She asks herself as she lay in her bed. "Perhaps I will think more about it later. Now, time to go to sleep since I'm really tired…."

For the next few days, Sakura spends her time contemplating her next move. Since she doesn't know where to practice her water walking, she decides to focus more on the first two basic exercises.

Gradually, she manages to stick the leaf in any parts of her body for longer periods of time. She also can walk up and down the wall and also in the ceiling for much longer. The only thing she needs to relearn is water walking.

She just doesn't know where to practice without alarming her parents. If she fills the tub in the middle of the night, for certain her parents will hear it and soon investigate the noise. So that is not a good option.

The only other option she has is to let her parents know about her abilities. She knows that her parents love her very much. So she is confident that they won't react negatively to her revelation. If she reveals herself to her parents, they might even support her training early.

Hence, she decides to admit the truth to her parents.

For days, she prepares her speech. Only for her plan to derail when her parents sit her down to talk to her first.

It is in the morning after breakfast when her parents confront her. They are sitting on the living room sofa with Sakura's parents facing her.

"Sakura, we want to talk to you about something," her father – Haruna Osuke – begins.

Sakura is downright wary and confused. So she just cocks her head to the side and does not say anything.

"We know you can understand us very well, Sakura. So don't pretend otherwise," her mother – Haruna Akino - adds, or rather scolds her.

Sakura's eyes widen in surprise when she hears her mother's words.

"What do you want to talk about?" She asks nervously. She begins to suspect the reason why her parents want to talk to her.

Have they finally discovered my secret?... But how? I've been very careful…She silently wonders.

"We know what you have been doing during night time, Sakura. We've known about it for weeks," Her father tells her seriously.

"We are just wondering the reason why you haven't revealed anything to us yet," her mother states.

Sakura is silent due to her shock.

"How did you find out?" She asks them.

It's only when her mother shows her the teddy bear that Sakura realizes the truth.

Ugh, I completely forgot that there is a baby monitor in that teddy bear…I'm such an idiot. She thinks in irritation.

"Oh…" is all she says.

"Sakura…we know you are our daughter. However, we want to know the reason why you are able to do all these things, like walk on the wall and stick a leaf anywhere in your body…" Her father questions.

Sakura lets out a sigh before she explains, "It's because I have chakra, mother, father... It's the main reason I am able to do all these feats and more..."

She watches when her parents glance at each other before they turn to her again.

"We've heard about chakra, Sakura, but this is the first time we've seen something like this happen…Can you explain everything you know to us?" is her mother's request.

"Of course," she replies.

She begins to explain everything about her past and where she first comes from. Sakura tells them the whole truth and that's how her parents find out that she is a reincarnator.
