Work Text:
There was a small clattering of tea cups and coffee mugs in the background, the soft scent of coffee and floral tea and the various pastries filling her lungs softly as she took a small sip of her own tea to calm down the nerves.
In all honesty she wouldn't do it, she was scared of what would happen if she even utters the words themselves especially now with her parents having no memory of who she is or their actual past life in Britain.
The former Hogwarts student would be putting a lot in the line if things go south but she had to do it, she needs to do it.
It wasn't fair for her to be stuck with a man she no longer loves, a man she now wishes they had stayed as friends rather than lovers. But what is done is done and it isn't fair for Ron to continue living with a woman that doesn't love him as he wishes she could, of course Ron doesn't know this and that's the unfortunate part of the whole situation.
Their kids, what would they think of her if she divorces their father? Would they hate her for breaking Ron’s heart? Would her son and daughter hate her for any sadness and pain their father would be feeling after this? Hermione Granger sights.
Ron deserves better, she deserves better. She just can't let her husband live in this idea that she loves him, which is all fake. She doesn't feel warmth when Ron hugs her, nor those pesky butterflies in her stomach when he does kind things to her. She just doesn't feel anything and it hurts, it hurts thinking she will be hurting Ron. The red haired man doesn't deserve that.
Hermione can't exactly pinpoint when her feelings started to fade, she never fell in love with anyone else that's for sure but she has noticed that over time her feelings started to shift, fade. It was a slow and steady process one she didn't notice it at first. It would be a lie if she didn't admit she felt sad because of it. Ron is a great guy whose fame as a quidditch player never got to his head, a responsible guy and great dad.
The former Hogwarts student takes a deep breath; the kids being all over Hogwarts made this somewhat easier…hopefully?
