Harry feels a small amount of fear when Voldemort shouts “CRUCIO!”
Then the spell hits. And he starts giggling, feeling a gentle tickle, like someone running their hands on the sides of his ribs. He giggles a little more, then breathes a sigh as he calms down. “Y’know, that lil’ trick made me realize something. Should’ve realized it when the Imperious curse didn’t work.”
“What?!”
Harry shrugs. “You see, I’ve been looking into my family history. We’re inventors, right? All of you know that, and you know that we build failsafes so that items we make can’t be used against us. But there’s something you’ve all forgotten; we were present during wars too. We made things for war. Crucio? It reminds me a little of the spell made by one of my grandmothers. A ruthless combat mage who tortured hundreds into insanity for killing her husband. She didn’t write it down in the Grimoire because she felt horribly guilty after the fact.”
Harry smiles a little. “One of my grandfathers, a medical inventor, made a spell that takes over one’s bodily functions to stop seizures and other such things.”
“Oh, and let’s not forget about my grandfather Charlus! You know; the fire mage that reduced an entire army of wyverns to ash using a certain fire spell during the Gaia World War. I wonder what his favorite spell to use was…” Harry raises an eyebrow.
“AVADA KADAVRA!” The green spell is shot from Voldemort’s wand. Clearly not wanting to let anyone else monologue.
Harry lets it hit him, and grins as it does nothing but give Harry the magic that Voldemort just used in the spell. “Ah, right, I suppose I should tell you about that one too.”
“That particular death spell was made by one Irene Potter. Who made it with a slight… Flaw. You see; she was an executioner. Someone who killed prisoners of certain renown. She made the spell so as to prevent anything from stopping the death of her target. However; any innocents she killed with it? Their souls get stuck in the wand. Satan grabs souls that are evil. But good souls stay behind. They linger. And they influence the wand of the user.”
“Now, why did that spell work on my dad?” Harry mutters, then shrugs. “It didn’t. He had decided to sacrifice himself so that I might live. So you didn’t manage to kill him. Or my mother for that matter. Congratulations, worlds worst Wizard. You set out to kill a baby and managed to die without even killing his parents. I would laugh, but really it’s just sad.”
Harry then claps his hands, and a wave of Patronus Light blasts outwards and hits Voldemort, turning him to ash. “My Mana also really hates him, so he was never going to survive a direct confrontation anyway.” With a wave of his own wand, several things happen all at once.
Voldemort’s wand flies to his left hand.
Cedric’s body flies over from where it was laying near the cup.
A blast of red light knocks out all of the Death Eaters in the Graveyard.
Pettigrew turns back into a rat and a cage appears around him, said cage shrinking down until it can fit in Harry’s pocket. It then flies into aforementioned pocket.
Finally, the Triwiz cup flies over and hits Harry in the back while he’s holding onto Cedric.
With a FFFFF-POP! Harry and Cedric are warped back onto the platform. Harry, still firmly in combat mode, glares as their current Defense teacher approaches. Without a word of warning, Harry flicks his wand and watches as the man gets locked down by tendrils of water.
Dumbledore approaches slowly, and Harry gives him a nod. “Quick, hold Cedric up for me.”
Dumbledore blinks in confusion, but nods, then winces as he feels how cold the body is.
“I know he feels and looks dead, but he’s not. Had to use a spell on him to keep anyone from noticing that fact.” With a deep breath, Harry slaps Cedric on the back. “WAKE UP!”
Harry only barely doesn’t let out a hysterical laugh as Cedric wheezes in a breath, like he’d been underwater for a long while, looking around, eyes darting until they land on Harry and seem to calm.
“Alright. That’s that.” Harry says, giving Ced a more friendly pat on the back. “You good to stand, or was the under-water feeling going for too long?”
“I’ll look a bit pathetic, but I should be fine to stand on my own.”
Harry gives another nod to Dumbledore, who releases the young man.
Cedric shivers as he starts to move. “That was… unsettling.”
“Waking up to being held by Dumbledore?” Harry questions, getting a flat look from Cedric.
“No. Nearly getting killed.”
Harry blinks. “Oh. Eh, you get used to it.”
“…” Cedric stares at him for a moment, and Harry snorts out a laugh.
