By the Docks

Summary:

Noah's taking some time to rest and is joined by Eva.

Work Text:

Noah was calm, which had become a rarity since he signed up for total drama. Chris had a big challenge he was preparing for the next day, giving the campers a free day. Noah had seized the chance and had snuck off with a book, in hopes of getting some peace.

He found himself at the docks and decided that it was the perfect place to rest. Noah basked in the warmth of the sun against his back. Lazily he kicked his feet in the water, startling a curious little fish. Noah inhaled tasting the tinge of sea salt in the air and the strong smell of seaweed. If it weren’t for Chris and Chefs sadism it would probably have felt like a relaxing vacation.

Hesitant footsteps drew attention, and he turned spotting Eva and though her face portrayed nothing it was evident in her body language that she was feeling uncomfortable. Noah shot her what he hoped was a reassuring smile, deciding to wave as well to help emphasise his attempt at friendliness. She seemed to get the message as she returned a strained smile and walked over.

Eva sat pulling of her shoes and socks throwing them besides Noah’s own before swinging her feet over the dock into the cold water below. It was quite evident that she was unhappy, and Noah found himself worried about his friend
“Would you like to talk about what ever is bothering you”, he found himself asking somewhat awkwardly.

“Can we just sit here, please”, Eva was staring down watching small fish flitter around in the water.
Noah just nodded returning to his book, half-heartedly flicking through pages he had read numerous times by that point. He could faintly hear the music from her headphones, and he found himself yawning as many sleepless nights catching up to him.

He had stayed awake when he was alone as he didn’t trust that some of the lesser well-meaning contestants wouldn’t stumble across him whilst vulnerable but now that Eva was there that worry was assuaged. The faint sounds of Eva’s music combined with the more natural sound of the island lulled Noah to sleep. He lent against his friend as he drifted off.
