All the Stars

Summary:

Another day and night in Hollywood...

Work Text:

“Here’s what I want,” said Adam Sandler, standing up from the table where executives sat beside mock ups and bound scripts.

He pointed and talked and they nodded and smiled, and he shook his head and left for the men’s room. When he returned, he looked at them and went out to his car, shaking his head to the valet, driving off into the city.

At a restaurant nearby, Scarlett Johannson wiped the smudge of lipstick off her glass. She smiled up at someone who was heading to her table, or perhaps not.

Shia LaBeouf, sipping his coffee in the driver’s seat in a parking lot, watched moodily as a group of teenagers laughed at something on their phone.

In his gym, Vin Diesel puckered his mouth to raise the dumbbells.

“Mmm-mmm-mmm,” Jennifer Aniston nodded, fingers steepling under her chin, gaze direct. She swished her glass of wine. “Really? And what about… “

Across the room, Seth Rogen heh-heh-heh ’d to James Franco, both holding beers, standing side by side and taking a swig. Further still, Jessica Alba faced an admirer, blinking slowly, grimace smiling with her head cocked to the side, nodding as she righted it front and center.

“It was this big,” Kim Kardashian, standing at the bar, held her fingers together, slowly raising her hand in the air. Khloe Kardashian nodded, slow-pouting, unconsciously mimicking her sister’s pose.

“And did you send it back?”

Tables glittered with glasses and china. Candles lit and bars strobe-lit, decadent curtains and rich red carpet and bartenders pouring, ever pouring. Waiters bringing little glasses on one large black tray, bending to get a smile from Jennifer Garner, who sat across from Ben Affleck.

“I just don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” said she, and he, opening his mouth a little wider, forefinger raised.

Across the room, Meryl Streep smiled, wide and teeth showing, her face crinkling into a nod.

“Exactly!”

In a corner, sat Johnny Deep, slightly smiling, only slightly, to the woman perched with ramrod straight back opposite him. “It’s more complicated than that… “

In the men’s room, Chris Evans stood at the urinal, struggling to zip up.

“You OK there, man?” asked Paul Rudd, glancing both ways with a cough to one side.

“God this isn’t happening… “

In the ladies’ room, Cameron Diaz blinked with her mouth slightly parted to get out an eyelash.

Across the city, Mark Wahlberg sprawled on his couch, glancing over his shoulder before lifting himself slightly up. In the bathroom of his mansion, Dwayne Johnson brushed his teeth, standing with his legs more spread than before. Angelina Jolie, at her vanity, plucked out a gray hair, slowly glancing up.

Jennifer Lawrence, pulling her waffle quilt closer, watched the stars through the window.
