Work Text:

If there’s one thing you must know about Jason Todd-Wayne, it’s that he loves wearing collars. That is, the collars Slade has given him.

Jason has a whole collection of collars, all commissioned for him specially by Slade. Some are leather. Others are metal. Some are lined with velvet or fur. Others are delicate lace. Most of them are adorned with O rings. Many of them are labeled with “Property of Slade Wilson,” and several have a variety of leashes with which to attach to them.

But Jason never stops feeling touched when Slade presents him with a new collar, carefully crafted just for him.

The collars mean that Jason is wanted and loved. That Slade means to keep Jason around. That Slade isn’t going to abandon Jason the way so many others have.

He wears them happily and proudly — in public, proudly letting the whole world know that Jason Todd-Wayne is cherished and adored; to family dinners, while ignoring Dick’s eye twitch at the “Property of Slade Wilson” label; in private, when Slade loops a finger through the O ring and pulls Jason into a devouring kiss at the peak of pleasure; even out on patrol, with custom made collars to match his armor, prompting many outside Crime Alley to ponder just who has managed to collar the notorious Red Hood.

It’s gotten to the point where Jason feels most comfortable wearing a collar and nothing else when he lounges in bed for lazy mornings with Slade, exchanging easy kisses and soft caresses. Where he feels naked not including his Red Hood collar over the neck piece of his armor. Where he feels most at home curled up against Slade on the couch of their shared apartment, reading a book while Slade idly traces the design stamped into the leather of the collar.

The collars are a sign that Jason is happy, that he belongs, that he is loved, and Jason wouldn’t have it any other way.
