Chapter Text
It had been a stressful night, to say the least. Moon had left quite the mess for Sun to clean again. He tried not to hold it against him, he really did, but it was hard not to be at least a little annoyed when he woke up in a pile of torn apart staff bots up in their room. He knew Moon was sick… And had been for a while. It's not entirely his fault he's doing all this. He could at least appreciate the fact Moon would block him out whenever he had violent moments like these. Sun didn't think he'd handle actively watching the violence very well.
He sighed as he cleaned, putting the staff bots in the corner of the room and wiping up all the spilled oil and such. Unfortunately he can't dispose of the broken bots due to the fact he can't leave the daycare without a good reason, and Moon is in no state to help with the clean up. As if to prove a point, he could hear Moon laughing in the back of their shared head.
“Would you at least have the decency to feel a little bad? Maybe just a smidge of remorse? Perhaps an apology?” He dramatically grumbled under his breath. Not that he needed to breathe, he's a robot after all, but- No! He's getting distracted! Back to work.
Once he was done he stood up and surveyed the room. It… it looked as good as he could get it right now. He felt his cleaning protocols itching inside his metal frame but did his best to ignore it. He can't do anything more without Moon. He wilted a little but quickly shook it off. It was only a matter of time before the kids got here! He had to clean himself off too before then!
‘Messy messy~’ Moon giggled. “And who's fault is that?” He retorted, putting all the sass he could into it, which only made Moon giggle harder. At least Moon could find the situation amusing. Despite everything, Sun still liked hearing his Counterpart laugh…With some exceptions.
He sat down cross-legged and pulled the wet wipes closer. Quickly taking one out, he began to clean off his body. At least nothing had gotten on their pants or shoes, that would take a lot longer to clean! He felt Moon's consciousness lean against his own and relaxed slightly. He just had to stay optimistic! Soon enough the technicians would fix Moon and everything would be okay again! He just had to keep telling himself that.
He wasn't looking forward to naptime today. The kids had such a hard time sleeping with the lights and music on, and Moon got so loud during it. He didn't like what Moon had to say during naptime. He much preferred moments like now when Moon was more calm. He sent a hesitant brush of affection through their connection, like gently bumping shoulders. For a few moments he thought Moon wouldn't respond until he felt the affection be returned. His smile turned a bit more genuine at that, his code gently pressing against Moon's.
Soon enough they were sparkling like new. Sun puffed up a bit in pride. He did quite a good job, if he did say so himself! He stood up and dusted himself off. A quick check of the state of the daycare should be quick enough before the children got here! He didn't want to miss any messes, after all!
“You're quite the troublemaker, Moon! If that mess had been any bigger, I wouldn't have time to check over the daycare before the little ones started showing up!” He lightly scolded his lunar counterpart, rolling his eyes affectionately at the impression of a sharp grin that Moon sent back through their code. Even with everything going on and how bad things were getting, he was still glad he had Moon with him. He doesn't even want to entertain the thought of anything else.
He jumped off the balcony to land in the ball pit when he suddenly saw a bright light appear below him. He panicked and tried to call the wire to catch him but it was too late.
He never landed in the pit below.
His senses were quickly overwhelmed and forced him to restart before it could get worse. When he came to, he was on the ground. His optics reset after a few seconds and he blearily tried to take in his surroundings and figure out what had happened.
‘Sun? Sun what happened?!’ He heard Moon ask, sounding just as frazzled as he was. “I don't- I don't know…” He managed to wheeze out. His voice was a bit staticy so he manually reset it.
He looked around and only became more confused. The room they were in didn't look familiar at all. There were none of the familiar bright, neon colors of the Pizzaplex, only soft blue walls and rich brown hardwood floors. There were bookshelves against the walls full of… videogames? He could see a large beanbag in the corner, big enough for him actually! Plus a medium sized rug under that, taking up a corner of the room. Looking behind him, he saw….A computer???
‘Sun… I don't think we're in the Pizzaplex anymore..’ Moon said weakly. “Gee, thanks for the observation, Dorothy.” He snarked back, only to wince and quickly apologize at the flash of annoyance he felt from Moon. ‘I can't connect to the Pizzaplex’s systems. We're completely cut off. How the hell did we get here?!’ He hissed. “I'm not sure. There was a bright light, but just… suddenly being teleported doesn't make any sense!” Sun whined in disbelief.
Moon was preparing to start bickering with Sun, he could tell, when their audials suddenly picked up the quick pitter patter associated with someone walking rapidly towards them. His head snapped up and forwards just in time to see the door slam open and a human appear in the doorway holding a plastic water bottle. He felt like time was crawling to a slow as they stared at each other. The human's eyes widened in shock as they suddenly dropped their bottle onto the floor, breath hitching as they saw him.
Oh no.
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
Oh no.
Oh god. Okay. Okay okay okay!
Sun from fnaf is in your house!
Everythings fine! You're so chill! You're so calm and chill and cool!
You totally aren't one wrong move away from a panic attack!
“One second!” You hold up a finger, watching him flinch back slightly at your voice, rays going halfway back into his head before slowly pushing back out. Cool! Great! He's moving! That's so awesome and cool!
You quickly rush out of the doorway into your living room and grab a throw pillow from your couch, pressing it into your face and screaming as loud and long as you can into it. You feel significantly better now actually. Who knew screaming your lungs out could be so calming? You, you knew. You shake your head and remind yourself of the situation. Don't lose focus! You've got an animatronic in your house!
You hesitantly walk back to your computer room and peek inside. If you didn't know any better, you might say Sun looked surprised you came back. Okay. You can do this. Stay calm. Stay calm….You ignore the accidental fnaf song reference you just made.
“Um… hi?” You peep out. You think he's still processing everything, either that or he's scared he's gonna startle you if he does anything. “Are… are you okay?” You ask, walking a bit into the room when he doesn't do anything for a minute.
He looks bewildered honestly. You carefully and slowly crouch down to pick up your dropped bottle and set it on an empty spot on the shelf closest to you. You pause and then take a cautious step towards him.
He scrambles back, startling you, and ends up sitting back and staring at you with wide eyes. “Uh- Um- H-Hello new friend! I- Um- I seem to be a bit lost!” He suddenly blurts out, sounding shaky, but just like the voice he had in-game. Something about you feels satisfied about that fact, even excited, but you push it down. Now's not the time.
“Yeah, no kidding.” You laugh in shock, an unsure smile on your face as you fiddle with your shirt.
“I'm so sorry, friend. Do you know where we are?” He seems to slowly be regaining his composure. Very slowly. You note the use of ‘we’ there. You let out a few breathy laughs and nod “Yeah, you're in my house right now.”
He visibly tenses up at that. “Oh- Oh no. I- I really don't know how I got here, I'm so sorry.” He apologizes, to which you quickly wave your hands to reassure him “No, no, it's fine! I'm not upset, just surprised is all!”
He seems to be scanning your face for something, and relaxes the tiniest bit when he doesn't find it. “Okay. Do…Do you know where Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex is? That's where we're from and we really need to be getting back!” He asks hopefully. You internally winced. “That… . That might be a problem.” You admit. He looks confused at your confession, tilting his faceplate slightly. Oh that's adorable. No- No- Stay focused!
“And why would that be, new friend?” He asks you. You wring your hands and bite your lip a little before taking a deep breath and responding “Because that's a very long way away from here.” You try to let him down slowly. You can't just immediately tell him that it's because the place is fictional! He'd never believe you! He's living proof it's way more real than you thought it was!
He visibly wilts at your words, making your chest clench at the sight. “Oh… oh… that's.. Well…” He looks distraught. You can't take seeing one of your absolute favorite characters like that, it's downright painful! He looks like a kicked puppy! A very tall clown of a kicked puppy! “Hey! Hey! Don't worry!” You quickly blurt out before you can stop yourself.
You walk closer and hold out a hand to him. “Why don't you stay here until we can figure out how to get you back home?” You offer. God, you're practically experiencing a fanfic trope. It almost makes you laugh out loud but you manage to keep it in. He perks up at your offer. “Are you sure? Like sure sure? You wouldn't mind?” You have to fight down a very embarrassing sound at how hopeful and excited he looks. Come on! You can't go all ‘excited fan’ in front of him! You'll freak him out!
You nod. “Yeah, I've got plenty of space! I've even got an extra guest room I haven't been using for anything!” You smile encouragingly at him. He hesitates for a moment and then takes your hand, letting you pull him up. You're pretty sure he did most of the heavy lifting though. A shiver runs through you as you touch the silicone and metal of his hand. He feels just as warm as the fandom tends to depict him. You guess that makes sense, he's full of complex machinery, of course he'd be warm. Even your computer gets warm when you use it!
He smiles down at you, or at least you feel like the smile permanently molded onto his face is more genuine than before. “So? What's your name, new friend! I'm Sun! Or Sunny, Sundrop, really anything with sun in it!” He introduces himself, which makes you giggle. His rays wiggle at the sound and you have to bite the inside of your mouth to keep calm.
“I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you, Sun!” You beam up at him. “That's such a nice name! It's nice to meet you too, Y/N!” He eagerly says. You notice you're still holding hands and force yourself to let go. You internally bonked yourself for even thinking for a moment that he looks a little sad about the loss of contact. You've been reading too much fanfic! Control yourself!
“Here, why don't I show you to the guest bedroom and you can get a few minutes to relax while I go change into some actual clothes.” You blush a bit in embarrassment about the fact you were still wearing your pajamas despite the fact it was well past lunch time. So sue you, you like to be comfy in your own home! “I can give you a tour of my house once you're all settled!”
He nods eagerly at the idea “Thank you, friend! I'd love that! Just… keep the lights on, okay?” His voice dipped a little at the end, making you shiver yet again. “Yeah, you got it!” Oh god. If he's here, then you're gonna be dealing with Moon too. Stay calm, you can think about the implications later. You don't have time to have a panic attack about Moon and how he may or may not kill you if you accidentally turn out the lights to the room Sun is in. You're suddenly really happy about the fact you almost never have blackouts in your area. The pros of living where you do, you suppose.
“Follow me.” You tell him and walk out of the room. You don't even need to check to see if he's following, you can clearly hear his bells jingling as he trails behind you. They sound so nice… or maybe you just like them because they're his. Ughhhh now is not the time! Get it together, Y/N!
He's mostly silent as you lead him through your house and up the stairs. He does pipe up eventually. “Wow! Your home is pretty big, huh? Nowhere as big as the Pizzaplex of course, but big for what I've heard about houses!” You giggle a bit at his observation. “Yup! It's nice, though maybe a bit big for just little ol’ me. I like it though. Plenty of room for all my stuff!” You respond. You're still really proud of yourself for being able to afford a place like this. You still remember the party your friends and family threw for you when you bought this place. One grand hurrah and farewell before you moved away. You focus back in on the moment once you reach the guest room.
You open the door and step inside, turning to see Sun follow you in. He has to duck just slightly to get through the doorway. God the game did not prepare you at all for his size. Now you're really grateful for the tall ceilings of this place. You do a grand gesture at the whole room and grin at him. “So? What do you think? Good enough for you?”
He pauses and takes it all in, slowly looking around the room. “Good enough? Good enough? It's great!” He excitedly tells you, rays spinning in joy. Oh that's gonna stay in your memory forever. “It's so cozy! Did you decorate it yourself? I can't believe you're letting us use it!” His joy was infectious and made you snicker. “Yeah, I did all the decorating. I'm glad you like it! I'll let you get settled in. Just call for me if you need anything, okay?”
He nods and goes to sit down on the bed. You giggle as he suddenly falls back and sprawls over it completely. You remember that this is probably his first time ever laying on a bed. It's simultaneously adorable and sad. You decide to leave him to it and exit the room, shutting the door behind you. You should see what kind of extra long charging cords you have in your garage. He's gonna be needing it if he does end up staying here with you for a while.

“Can you believe it, Moon?! A whole decorated room to ourselves! A bed, Moonie! A bed!” Sun giggles in disbelief. He never expected you to be so, so nice! Especially to a random animatronic that suddenly appeared in your house! He could feel Moon's skepticism, but knew that Moon would warm up to you in time. After all, you were kind enough to let them stay with you for the foreseeable future! At least until they get home. Which they have to, as soon as possible. But maybe a vacation was just what they needed! Though… you did let them stay without knowing about Moon and the virus he has… but… but that's fine! Sun… Sun can keep it hidden! He can keep you safe. He feels really bad that Moon won't be able to experience how soft this bed is first hand, but at least he can somewhat feel it through their connection! Oh if only Moon weren't so sick…
‘Sun.’ Moon's voice snapped him out of him, making him jump a little before relaxing into the bed again. It was so comfy, even more than he thought it would be! ‘We can't relax just yet. We don't know anything about them!’
Sun scoffed. “We know they're nice enough to help a creepy, tall, clown animatronic that showed up in their house out of the blue! They barely even freaked out! They even went into a different room to scream instead of screaming at us! And! And they came right back!” He knew how most adults saw him, he wasn't stupid. He just wished Moon wouldn't be so suspicious of his new friend, but he guessed that was just a side effect of being a security bot. A healthy dose of wariness definitely helps with his job when dealing with intruders… well it did before the virus…
‘Just be careful, okay Sunny? We can't risk getting hurt out here without the parts to fix it.’ Sun softened a little at the concern radiating off of Moon. “Okay, I promise.” He sighed, wrapping his code around Moon's in the closest thing to a hug he could manage. He smiled softly at the affection he felt back from his best friend. “We'll get through this! Our new friend will help us get back home, and then everything will be okay! Let's try to enjoy this little vacation while we can, okay Moonie?” He encouraged the other bot. He felt happy as Moon finally relented. Even Moon couldn't hide the impression of a hesitant smile in their code.
‘Okay. We can try.’
