Chapter Text
And I get the feeling that you'll never need me again
Alastor asked Vox to dinner in a vintage but fancy place. So romantic, in Vox’s personal opinion.
“Vox, my dear, listen carefully…”
This is it, he's gonna propose to me and we're going to get marry. Screw Val or Vel, Al was all he wanted and needed anyway. This is it, he should have had wore something more fancy. Fancyier. Was that even a word? Who cares, they were gonna rule hell together, the two media demons.
“I think it would be better if we leave this partnership.”
Who would be the wife? Al likes to cook, but he's kinda cold. He's more warm and welcoming and he's good with kids. They really like his screen, it's like fentanyl for little kids.
They already had sex, so marriage was only a matter of time. Maybe even kids.
Wait what.
“I don't understand, what did I do wrong?”
This wasn't happening.
“I'm afraid but It's over, I—”
“No! You can't, you can't! You're different, you care about me and—hic—. You think you can love me and then leave me to—.”
Alastor rubbed the bridge of his nose, his ears going flat.
“Stop acting so childish. We didn't even date. We spent good times together, but nothing that good lasts forever.”
“I thought you liked me…”
“I do but, I.” He pushed his hair back. Vox wasn't taking the fall out like he thought he would.
“....do you regret spending the night with me?” Box asked, avoiding eye contact. He looked like he was about to cry.
“...not at all”.
Vox cheeks were getting wet.
“For reasons I won't disclose right now, I think it's in the best of our interests to not be together. Don't embrace the past, Voxxy.”
“Our interests? Screw you, you are such a prick—”
“Goodbye, my dear.”
“No! Don't leave me—”
He was gone.
The demon is a coward.
—
“He is so awful.”
Vox sniffed and took another shot.
Valentino listened to his rambling about the red prick. Saying “What a dick” or “He’s a total idiot, mi amor ” every now and then. Vox was being so vulnerable with him right now, crying and talking about his ex.
Vox is vulnerable. He could totally rail him tonight, maybe even make a contract with him. It would be so easy —
“I thought that he loved me, Tino. I was just a plaything. I thought that he cared about me, I'm such an idiot.
Damn. He kinda feels sympathetic for the TV.
“Cariño, you're not an idiot. You just a pussy and got your heart too close to your sleeves. You just got played by him.
He hugs him and caresses the edges of his big screen. It was kinda cute.
Vox just clings to him and lets the tears fall down.
Then, he grabs the vodka bottle and chigs it down.
“Easy, cuchurrumín. It's 40%”
He put the empty bottle down
“I miss him. Val. I know it's over, but in another lifetime, I would make him stay. It hurts.” Vox sits down on a chair, looking a bit dizzy.
“Voxxy, you'll get over him and—” he was interrupted by Vox’s drunk blabbering.
“Tino, I just can't. Half of my heart is with him, I feel incomplete and incompetent. He was the love of my life, I thought. I genuinely believed that. But he's such a—
Vox puked all over.
Valentino just patted his back, trying to sooth the TV man.
“It’ll pass.”
—
It didn't pass.
Other night, other bar, other try to drown his emotions in cheap vodka. He was walking home, about to take a shortcut.
His phone was ringing. It was Val.
“Voxxy?”
“What's up—hic—, Val.”
“Are you drunk?, I swear to Satan.”
“Relax, big man. I'm just tipsy.”
“You can't keep doing this”
Vox smiled lopsided way.
“Aw, don't worry, sweetie, I know how to take care of myself—.”
“You're making yourself look bad and by extension, you're gonna make us look bad. Don't make me look bad, pendejo. Get your shit together and get over that imbécil de mierda.”
Valentino hung up.
Right.
Whatever.
Fucking pricks.
He doesn't need Valentino’s care.
He's fine without Alastor’s support.
He's his own right hand man, and doesn't absolutely need anyone.
“Mr. Vox?.” A timid but anxious voice spoked.
“Huh, who you?.”
“I'm your biggest fan, sir. You're so much more handsome in person. I watch your shows every day, I think about you every night.”
“Thanks, man.” Vox thought it felt good. He loved being admired, and being the centre of attention. Even if it was from someone that smelled like onions and had greasy hair.
“Would you like to aign me something, sir?”
“No problemo.” He loved the attention.
He signed some posters and rambled on and on.
Suddenly, the stan was way too close. Deodorant was already a thing, why this little freak wasntusing it?
“You smell so lovely, sir.”
Uh, okay? Weirdo.
Suddenly, he was being pinned and being held by this ugly fucker.
“Alastor is such a blind man, how can he leave you…”
This fugly skank.
“How the fuck do you know that! Get off me, you freak!”
He didn't answer, he just kept a secure grip and began tying him with a rope. How did he get one. Was this a set up?
“I always get off to you, Voxxy.”
Ew, ew, ew. Ewww.
“I just adore how thick and fat your ass is.” Vox was absolute disgusted and offended. He was actually trying to slim down.
“Shut the fuck up, the camera ads you 10 pounds!”
He was getting groped.
“Holy shit, I love your thighs, they're so soft.” He began undressing him.
Shit shit shit.
“Did that ugly bitch ass strawberry dear popped your cherry yet?”
“Don't talk about him that way! What we did or didn't do doesn't concern you, you filthy waste of space!”
He took of his pants and underwear whistled at the sight.
"I'll be gentle if you asked me to be gentle."
