Chapter 1: Windblade
Summary:
My notes on First Lieutenant Windblade. Former City-speaker turned revolutionary now that her Titan is gone.
Pious, brilliant, fast, stubborn; my protégé.
Will probably snuff me before Megatron gets a chance to.
If not directly, then through spark arrest.

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Student is invested in courses, and knowledgeable. Insistent on layman’s terms. Average-to-high accuracy during tests. Enjoys taking notes and helping the gestalt with studying.
Tactical
Gifted fighter in root mode, very adept with a sword and hand-to-hand combat. Requesting permission to have her trained for firearms. Innovative and skilled with ordinance.
Passable flier. Can outmaneuver most enemy aircraft, but execution of maneuvers is sloppy. Could have chosen a better alt-mode, but I attribute this mostly to her inexperience.
Disobeys orders only when she knows she can get away with it. On a completely unrelated note, requesting permission for Dr. Ratchet to prescribe me a diuretic or perhaps a beta-blocker.
Communal
Student is neat, orderly, and has appropriate boundaries. Treats shared spaces with deep respect. Owes experience to living in an abbey. Gets along well with the gestalt despite not being a member. Has bonded with Silverbolt startlingly fast. Unafraid of larger Cybertronians due to city-speaker upbringing. Good chemistry with carriers and shuttles.
Requesting clarification on if patting assigned carrier crafts on the head and calling them “so very good” constitutes as inappropriate conduct; physical contact is consensual, albeit completely unnecessary.
Student gets an additional day off a week to observe her religious practices. Does not proselytize nor abuse this privilege.
Student’s favored care package items are: makeup, grooming supplies, religious paraphernalia, postcards, and datapads (religious, sword fighting, and romance).
Conclusion:
Windblade tests my patience. She is incredibly stubborn, and too damn smart for her own good. She reminds me of myself when I was her age, and I hate it.
She’ll be fine; she just needs practice.
^ 1. Rather than measuring age through exact time elapsed, Cybertronians possess three life stages that they must molt to progress through: protomorph (sometimes protoform), nymph, and adult. The second instar of the nymph phase is comparable with adolescence of pubescent species.
^2. Ferrum Negative; one of six possible spark types for Cybertronians

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Student has good grades in Geo-science; student is interested in the biology and ecology of Earth. Learns better by doing than listening. Excels at open-book tests, but struggles with memory-based exams and pop quizzes. Above average at flashcards despite deeming them “evil.” Average at Aeronautics.
Tactical
Decent form in the air, good teamwork with gestalt. Carrier Compatible; well-liked by both Shuttles and Water ships.
Poor at dogfighting, due to both choice of alt-mode and attention span; if dogfighting is necessary, student is required to have at least one wingmech at all times. Student lacks Situational Awareness, often compromising safety of comrades.
Note: Fireflight is not approved for Recon until they complete their dedicated course, concluding with a closed-book written exam on the specs for the following variants of their chosen alt-mode: F4H-1P (RF-4B), RF-4C, YRF-110A (YRF-4C), F-4E(S), RF-4E* (including the RF-4EJ), and RF-4E/TM Işık (Light) as well as a flight exam. The book portion of the exam will be overseen by MG Jazz, while the Flight Inspection will be handled by me.
*Unarmed variant; doubly important for Fireflight to know about these specs and how to operate in this particular model. (I am not concerned with his ability to utilize ordinance and weapons; I am concerned that he is about as stealthy as a parade.)
Communal
Student is liked by but often exasperates gestalt. Keeps spaces clean but disorganized. Often forgets to eat and sleep, but not wash; requires a timer and rigid schedule. Tends to misplace things.
Student responds poorly to critique, making apprehending them complicated. Requesting support from senior officer for administering demerits.
As a reward for good behavior, the student is permitted a “Movie night” once per week with their choice of gestalt members and/or friends, provided all other training and duties are complete.
This movie night may be revoked if student has received more than fifteen demerits that week.
Student’s favored items in care packages are Cybertronian snacks, Earth media, Cybertronian comic books, and video games. Expresses fascination with “Pop culture.”
Conclusion:
Fireflight’s not a bad student, but he clearly has some…cognitive problems. I think there’s some amount of distraction and memory issues that they can’t help, but unfortunately the only way to know what he’s capable of is to push him to the limit.
I’ll see what I can do, but he really does need freaking singlehorn blinders to pay attention.

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Student often tunes out or ignores lesson plan entirely. Tends to tantrum when lesson plan includes only classwork and no tactical training. Poor grades; detests studying.
Tactical
Student’s fearlessness and natural combat instincts are commendable. It has picked a fantastic alt-mode for its desired field, and its maneuverability, speed, and versatility are impressive. Can copy most maneuvers perfectly by seeing them only once or twice.
Student often ignores orders and prefers to fly ahead into danger. Has been hospitalized thrice without regard for past injuries.
Aggressive in root mode combat as well as in dogfighting. Not above playing dirty or physically assaulting enemy fighter jets.
Would make for a well-decorated Decepticon.
Communal
Student is liked by gestalt, but often becomes too aggressive when roughhousing. Gets on best with Fireflight. Student’s space is both dirty and disorganized; does not respect shared spaces. Lets ordinance residue build up and its paint chip.
Technically Carrier-compatible. Every Shuttle and Aircraft Carrier except for Skylynx is intimidated by it.
Note: Student keeps challenging me to “surprise wrestling matches” and losing. Has proclaimed it is “not scared” of demerits for inappropriate conduct or assaulting a superior officer. I no longer invoke demerits over this infraction. Student would be dishonorably discharged were I not so very gracious in this decision. I will not be taking constructive criticism on how I manage these particular infractions.
Student’s favored care package items are: gaming equipment (both Cybertronian sports like Rings, and video games), warpaint, replica weapons, energy drinks, and Cybertronian comic books.
Student is permitted care packages if infractions do not total above 30 on the given week.
Conclusion:
The only thing between this little demon and death’s door are my parole restrictions. Requesting assistance. Anything High Command agrees to would be preferential to this. A bite-proof muzzle would be a good place to start.

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Student is alert, attentive, and happiest in the classroom. High marks in everything.
Very adept at Aeronautics; no further training necessary unless prompted by Optimus Prime. Has requested a historical course.
Tactical
Student does not favor hands-on work, but participates without complaint.
Excellent form in the air. Would benefit from changing alt-mode to F15. Sharp reflexes; the strongest flier in the gestalt, and possibly in the barracks.
Needs work on confidence in dogfighting; often hesitates when a maneuver seems too daunting. Encouragement from gestalt necessary.
Communal
Student is liked by gestalt, Carriers, and Shuttles. Keeps spaces clean and organized. Helps gestalt with studying without giving them answers.
Easily annoyed by Air Raid. Likes things to be quiet and orderly. Gets on best with Silverbolt.
Student is permitted to have his own room in the barracks, on account of space availability, and desire for orderliness. Student understands this is due to free rooms, and is willing to share a room if more soldiers transfer to The Ark.
Student’s favored items in care packages are Cybertronian history books, model aircraft including kits (any and all varieties), and stationary.
Conclusion:
Fragging delightful little bot.
Skydive has incredible potential to be a lethal force in the air. However, he would also make a powerful archivist. Field work should be primarily done both when using Superion is absolutely necessary, and to give him experience. Losing him in combat would be a massive waste of a historian.
He seems to have a little crush on me. He does not need harassment over this; he'll grow out of it.
Chapter 5: Silverbolt
Summary:
Notes on Major Silverbolt.
Sweet kid despite his alt mode being the most upper class thing I've ever seen.
He's a plane. Who is afraid of heights.

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Average-to-high classroom capabilities. Student does well in classroom setting, and is not afraid to ask questions when he doesn’t understand. Respectful of instructors and open to critique.
Underestimates his own accuracy; needs to be more confident. Likes to help others study.
Tactical
Handy with ordinance; good endurance for his alt-mode, and quick on the wing.
Poor dog-fighting and bombing capabilities; student has chronic acrophobia. Manifests at approx. cherubs 8. Talk to ordinance corps about alt-mode options. Bomber aircraft are prohibited from suggestion. Non-negotiable. Student is required by program to undergo therapy for acrophobia for the duration of field service.
Pushes self to limit in all other areas, but gets into negative self talk about phobia.
Communal
Excellent conflict-deescalation techniques. Student is liked and respected by his gestalt and inferior officers. Student keeps his space clean and organized. Soft-spoken but firm in boundaries with comrades. Fastidious; has never failed inspection.
Carrier-craft compatible, if somewhat shy around larger bots. Gets on well with Ordinance officer Skyfire.
Note: Silverbolt is somewhat sensitive and overprotective of his gestalt; tends to shield others from infractions. 11 of 18 demerits are under investigation to determine if student took blame for another or actually acted out of line. Future cases of taking blame for other gestalt members will be treated as a less grave infraction (5 demerits; see Ark Code of Conduct), unless infraction is of grave or major consequence. In this case, demerit will be 2/3 of the offending party’s demerit.
Student’s favored items in care packages are postcards and photos from Cybertron, romance novels, grooming supplies, cosmetic paints, decals, and “stuffed animals.”
Conclusion:
Sweet kid, startlingly down-to-earth. A little bit of a tenderspark, but eager to please. Doesn’t take unnecessary risks and doesn’t look at me like I’m here to rain on his parade. Maturest of his troupe. He does beat himself up a lot; any reading that could be provided for me to help him manage the acrophobia would be appreciated.
The main problem is his alt-mode. The Concorde is monstrous; he walks like a newborn horse. I don’t care that he’s retrofitted the cabin for cargo transport, I don’t care what you had him doing on Cybertron; he’s a gestalt leader, and we need him on the field with his wingmates more than you know.
There are two frame options I’m floating in my mind before I ask him to consider swapping alts.
The first option is a Lockheed AC-130. He’d have to take some specialized courses on aiming that I’m not licensed in my parole to teach (I have the certification but you’d have to ask Fort Max to use his magic scissors on the red tape), but if you need him doing ground support this might be a good fit. He could eat Stunticons for breakfast, armored cars be damned. He’s already a good size for it and he’s only going to get bigger with his next molt.
The other is the Mi-24.
I know that the latter is a helicopter and getting clearance from the humans to permit a Soviet aircraft in this zone is going to be a slog, but if he’s so scared of heights, this might be the best option. He’d be a ground-support unit, and he could probably do rescue work or light transport in a pinch. You’ll just have to get used to deploying Air Raid and Skydive more often.
If neither of those will do, show him some options like the Lockheed; low-flying, heavily armed stuff. If he can’t outmaneuver Decepticon F-15s, (which he isn’t doing anyway in that velvet-lined droopy nosed noodle of an alt-mode, I’ll have you know), then he’s going to have to be so obnoxiously huge and heavy-hitting that he’s too painful for them to fight head-on. I do not suggest any other model of helicopter; he needs his wings. Even if just for stabilization or holding ordinance. Going from supersonic airliner to a combat jet is gonna be pit on his system, let alone airliner to a helicopter. If he swaps to the Mi-24 and decides he’ll never be happy if he’s not a helicopter for the rest of his life, he can pick another model after his next molt.
In the end, it’s up to Silverbolt; as long as he’s not a Concorde, I’m happy.

Observational Notes:
Classroom
Below-average marks. Unsure if student is truly struggling or isn’t even trying. Refutes offers with studying help from gestalt and Windblade.
Student expresses interest in historical segment (requested by Second Lieutenant Skydive), but maintains low GPA. Regularly argues with me about Decepticon history, particularly Megatron.
Still waiting on that beta-blocker, Doctor Ratchet.
Tactical
Decent form in air. Sloppy runway takeoffs; must be a VTOL thing.
Not antsy about flying over water like his gestalt; does get uncomfortable over urban areas.
Needs to get better at bombing practice; he has a lot of nerve being a Harrier and less accurate than Air Raid.
Communal
Student is tolerated by gestalt, and not by almost everyone else. Gets on best with Skydive, but they are not close. Student is neat and organized.
Barring Skylynx and Ordinance Officer Skyfire, all carriers and shuttles have declared that they “Cannot stand him.”
It would be incredibly distracting to pull Officer Skyfire from his very important work, and with Skylynx deployed, it seems that Slingshot and assigned carriers must work out their differences.
Like Skydive, student is permitted to have his own room. Unlike Skydive, this is for the sanity of his gestalt.
Student’s favored items in care packages are Iranian/Persian cultural items, video games, waxes, and polishes.
Conclusion:
Slingshot is annoying. This is not the end of the world; you can be incredibly annoying and still get hired by the Autobots to be their Air Commander.
He’s a pain, absolutely, but if you are not interacting with him daily, you’ll live. I do have to interact with him daily, so unless you are Optimus Prime, I don’t care how bad you think he is.
As for Slingshot, he’s fresh iron, and he hasn’t actually been on the battlefield before.
Once he has, he’ll either toughen up or burn out. He has no choice.
Chapter 7: Ark and Airforce Demerits

- Damaged propulsion
- Inappropriate livery for campaign
- Poor wingmanship
Grave infractions (6-10 demerits)
- Misuse of combat Comm links
