“And your new international champion, reclaiming his title as the King of Games, Yugi Mutou from Domino!”
Your friends lift you up over their heads.
Joey and Tristian were the first ones to greet Yugi as they hoisted him onto their shoulders. Tea was wiping a few tears away as she screamed Yugi’s name in excitement.
There was Ryou, Duke, and Serenity in the crowd along with Mai, Mako, and Rebecca not too fair behind them.
Mokuba was in that crowd as confetti rained down on the stadium to congratulate Yugi on his win.
Meanwhile, Kaiba hung back as he looked up at the screen. He saw Yugi’s grin plastered along the many screens of the stadium along with the final move that won him the duel.
Cheers chanted, cause they said there was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league.
Kaiba stared at the mob of reporters and cameras breaking through the crowd of friends and family.
“Yugi, welcome back to duel monsters!”
“Yugi, can you describe your deck usage and strategy?”
“Yugi, would things have changed if you were versing your known rival Seto Kaiba?”
“Yugi, set the record straight: where’s your partner in all of this?”
Where’s the trophy?
Kaiba was in his own head that he didn’t notice Yugi was no longer on the dweeb squad’s shoulders. He blinked a few times and saw a wild array of multi-coloured hair sprinting his way. It took a second for Kaiba to registered the confusion on the reporters’ faces and there was a part of him that wished he could have seen their faces clearly.
Instead, he locked eyes with Yugi and lifted him off the ground and into his arms. He was holding him as tight as he could into his chest.
“Congratulations,” Kaiba murmured into Yugi’s ear before he placed a kiss on the side of his head.
“Thank you, Seto,” Yugi replied in return before kissing the other fully on the lips.
There was another roar of the crowd when it happened but the two of them no longer cared where they were right now or who was watching them.
He just comes running over to me.
