Work Text:
Olivia and Elliot were spending this particularly snowy day together in the comfort of her apartment. Fin had insisted Liv take the weekend off, she said she didn’t have plans and could work, but Fin said otherwise, she finally relented. Since she had no real plans, she figured she would invite Elliot over for a relaxing day.
It had been snowing all morning, as Elliot arrived, the snow started to come down heavier. Soon, the snow accumulated, and the cozy snowfall turned into a full-blown blizzard. In turn, the two of them were snowed in together. Neither seemed to mind–the warmth of the apartment and the company of each other.
Olivia knew it was supposed to snow, but she didn’t think it would get this bad. Luckily, she is always prepared and has her snack stash fully stocked. Between herself, and Noah, she has to keep the snack stash fully stocked. One thing that she always had in her stash, was her precious oreos. Everyone in her squad knows about her love for Oreos.
Elliot’s stomach started to growl, signaling that he needed to find a snack. He wandered into her kitchen, rummaging through her cabinets like he owned the place.
“Elliot!” Olivia called out as she was sitting on the couch. “What are you doing?”
“Just looking for something to munch on,” he replied. Moments later, she heard the familiar crinkle of the cookie package.
He reemerges into the living room holding the package of cookies.
“Hey!” she exclaimed, pointing at him. “You’re eating my oreos!”
“Don’t you like to share?” he teased, popping another cookie into his mouth.
“No!” Olivia huffed, reaching out and snatching the cookie package out of Elliot’s hands. Clutching it like a precious treasure.
Elliot couldn’t help but smirk. She was trying so hard to be serious, but the fire in her eyes only made her more endearing. “Liv, I ate, what, three?”
“Four,” she corrected, narrowing her eyes.
“Fine. Four. That still leaves plenty for you. Liv, it’s just a cookie,” he teased.
“That’s it!” She exclaimed, “You are officially banned from my oreos for life!”
Elliot raised his brow, a grin widening on his face. “Banned, huh? What are you gonna do Benson? Arrest me?” he said sarcastically.
Without thinking, she lunged at him, trying to snatch the half-eaten cookie from his hand. But Elliot was faster, he caught her wrist and spun her around effortlessly.
“Nice try, Liv.”
Before she could even formulate a response, he grabbed her by the waist and gently pushed her down onto the couch, pinning her there.
“Elliot Stabler!!” She shouted as she squirmed under him. “Let me freaking go!”
“Not until you admit that you are overreacting about this whole cookie thing,” he said with a playful look in his eyes.
“In your dreams Stabler! Never!” she shot back, kicking her legs.
He chuckled; she still wouldn’t admit that she was overreacting. He knew what he needed to do. He brought out the big guns.
His hands darted to her sides, finding her most ticklish spots with ease. Liv shrieked, laughing uncontrollably as he tickled her.
“El, stop!” she gasped between laughs trying and failing to push him away.
“Say it,” he teased. “Admit it–you don’t actually care about the oreos.
“I do!” she managed to say, tears of laughter streaming down her face.
“You’re such a liar.” he replied, grinning.
“Okay, okay! Fine!” she cried out, her body still trying to fight its way out of Elliot’s tickling.
Elliot stopped and leaned back, giving her a moment to breathe. She lays there, glaring up at him, her cheeks flushed, and her hair sprawled all over the couch.
“You’re insufferable, Stabler.” she said with a sly grin on her face.
“And yet, here I am. Snowed in with you.” his voice softened as he locked eyes with her.
Olivia rolled her eyes. “Fine, you win. But you have to buy me a new pack of oreos.”
“Deal,” he said, leaning back and offering her a hand to help her sit up.
As they both settled back on the couch, still giggling, Elliot reached for the pack of Oreos.
“Want one?” he asked.
“Maybe.” she said. “But only if you promise not to tickle me again
“No promises,” he replied, taking a bite out of another cookie.
As the evening went on, the snow continued to fall outside of the apartment. The two of them were cuddled up together on the couch, watching a movie.
Olivia looked towards the window, only to be met with the falling snow, she closed her eyes, a content sign escaping from her lips as she leaned further into Elliot. The snowstorm could rage on for all she cared. Right at this moment, she lay wrapped in Elliot’s arms, everything felt warm and safe.
Elliot held her a little tighter, resting his chin lightly on her head. “I love you, Benson.”
“I love you too, Stabler.” She said, her voice already fading as sleep began to pull her under.
Outside, the snow fell, but inside Olivia’s apartment, it was filled with love, laughter, and warmth. Neither one of them could think of a better ending to the day.
