Work Text:
Summer.
The time when the days lazily stretched out longer and where the Sun was most selfish. The star stole and hogged the blue stage all for herself, hotly demanding the attention of anyone who bathed in her radiant light. Only she could beat hot breezes onto the earth, successfully caging away any cool breezes for Autumn.
She rewarded her audience with necklaces strung together from beads of sweat and wet gifts tucked neatly between armpits and socks. She sang her dazzling acts of kindness with the orchestra of insects that buzzed and zipped happily through her dry season, biting and pinching everyone to tell them so.
With a groan, a sharp claw scratched over a mosquito’s bite that had so lovingly bloomed against Shadow’s arm. He huffed as he reached for his leg, scrambling to soothe another itch, his jaw tight in irritation as another bite called for his attention. He rolled over from his spot in bed, dragging his eyes open only to anchor them to the ceiling.
Summer.
It was the most miserable, the most selfish, and the most demanding season out of the four. The problem “golden” child that boasted about herself to anyone, and everyone bends over backwards to hear her songs because of her artistry.
Her innate gift to crochet rainbow quilts of flowers in gorgeous patterns between the grass and streak the sky in melting gold hues captivated her fans. And her joy of decorating oak crowns with plums and peaches and apples, always sparkled sweetness within her subjects' bellies. They marveled and praised her for all her artistic talents, singing her songs and framing her crafts like she was their god.
But Shadow could not stand the heat she punished him with, his coal quills burning with punishment under her white eye. He relished when the day finally grew tired and the night would timidly crawl onto the stage, drawing the curtains closed with a sparkle. But even then, the presence of the day radiated behind the glittery drapes of the night, heat breathing under the gaps and over the sleeping audience.
Reminding them she’d expect their attention at the first crack of day.
Shadow, unfortunately laid wide awake, his eyes fixed on the lime stars that stuck quietly to the ceiling. They glowed brightly, another sour reminder that the Sun had visited, and happily over shared her stay.
He groaned, kicking off his covers so the fan whirring in the room would generously lick his hot skin. He glanced off to the side as the weak breeze hit him. A tiny, pink, digital clock, with mock bunny ears on its crown, read three-eighteen. In the morning.
Another groan crept up his throat as he dragged a hand across his face, stopping to hold his muzzle shut.
He hated Summer.
He hated the heat, the bugs, the short nights, he hated it all. Don’t even get him started on the traffic and outings that involved tracking sand and sea salt back to the place, even just the thought alone made another irritable noise rumble in his chest.
Amy stirred next to him, groggily pushing her eye mask up.
Shit.
“Shadow…?”
“Sorry Love,” he hurried out, rolling over to face her. He brushed her bangs out of her face, pressing a warm kiss to her temple. “Head back to bed.”
Amy hummed against his kiss, rubbing the sleep from her eyes away.
“Nooo, ‘s fine.” She let out a teary yawn. “Too hot?”
An annoyed puff escaped his chest. Even in her half-awake state, she could see right through him. “I’ll be fine,” he said, quiet with a lie. “You have work in the morning, go back to sleep.”
“Mmm… no.”
Amy kicked off the rest of the blanket, letting it crumple up onto the floor.
Shadow watched as she slipped off the bed, and strolled over for the fan, his eyes melting over her. They dripped down her back to wear her tail peaked right over her panties.
His eyes darted back to her face when she spun back around, Summer rudely stretching up his neck. Thankfully, the whirring hum of the fan grew louder and the breeze hit stronger, soothing him.
A scowl still settled on his lips.
“Amy, I’ll go to the couch. It’ll be fine.”
Shadow began to rise before Amy quickly dragged him back down onto the bed, her arms draping over him.
“Noooo,” she whined, resting her chin on his chest, anchoring him down.
He sighed.
“You can’t sleep if the fan’s on.”
“I can’t sleep if you’re not here.”
She tucked her head nicely under his chin, nuzzling against his chest fur. His heart churned, his irritation softening into guilt. “Amy…” he started, rubbing his thumb over her arm in silent battle. But she shook her head, yawning once more as she cuddled against him.
She was cool, fighting off the sweltering heat caged up within his body. The fan assisted, gently offering him a new found relief in the night.
“Staaay. It’ll kill me if you go again.”
Shadow drummed his fingers thoughtfully against her arms, the hum of the fan filling the quiet. He sat up again, earning a complaint from Amy as he shifted her off of him. He waved a dismissive hand, hiding the small smile on his lips. “Relax, Love. I’m just getting the blanket.”
He dragged the blanket back onto the bed, throwing the hot fabric over her. She giggled, happily wrapping herself back up as Shadow slipped back into bed. She pressed herself close to his side, humming softly as he draped an arm over her waist.
He stroked her side affectionately, leaving warmth in his trail as he walked across her cool skin.
“So dramatic…” he teased, his eyes roaming her face.
Amy’s eyes were closed with sleep, but she shook her head once more to defend her name. “You jus’ don’ wanna sleep in my room.” She looked at him with a stern expression, her unfocused eyes moving lazily across Shadow’s face. He smiled.
“What? That’s not even remotely true.”
“Is too—you’ve been on the couch all week.”
Shadow rolled his eyes. “Four nights isn’t the whole week.” Amy huffed.
“Basically the same thing…”
She lowered her gaze, her hand coming to fidget with Shadow’s tuft of white fur. She quietly brushed her fingers through it, playing with a tuft of white between her fingers. “I miss you in the mornings.”
He hummed, his hands continuing their slow trail in repetition, as if pacing in thought. “We have breakfast together every day.”
“Yea, but still… it’s not the same.”
Shadow snorted, propping an elbow onto the pillow, resting his knuckles against his temple. “What’s to miss if you see me anyway?”
Amy sighed, sadly twirling a tuft of white.
“I like waking up to you, Shadow,” his heart skipped a beat.
She bit her lip and continued, her voice gentle as moonlight. “I miss waking up with you beside me. I love hearing your morning voice, seeing your messy quills, and feeling you close to me as we cuddle. Those little moments are so special to me because they’re just for us. They’re ours. But now, by the time I get up, you’re already awake, and I miss out on all of that.”
Shadow’s hands paused.
Amy stuck between his teeth like cotton candy, her words spinning into sugar as her soft eyes stuck sweetly to him. He could feel the heat rising in his cheeks as he tried to collect himself, his usual composure slipping between Amy’s fluffy threads of sincerity.
She playfully tapped his nose, a gentle nudge that reminded Shadow just how unfamiliar he was in her world.
A flush crept up his neck as he awkwardly swatted her hand away, his face growing warmer with each passing second. Her light giggle, like a soft breeze, only added to his growing discomfort.
He quickly averted his eyes, focusing on the delicate curve of her lashes and the gentle shape of her ears to avoid her gaze. “You… shouldn’t say things like that,” he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper.
Amy always managed to make his heart sway in ways that both irritated and amazed him. At times, she effortlessly made him float with nothing but a look and a smile, overwhelming him in a light. The power she had over him was kept tucked away in a secret part of his heart, locked up behind dark bars.
“But it’s true! I get so sad… I love my boyfriend and I wanna see you.”
His ears burned a bright red.
“You’re amazing. Plus, hot as hell.”
“Amy,” he quipped, pressing his mouth thin as she giggled innocently. She gazed at him with those big, sparkling eyes of hers, crystallizing Summer all around him and thickening the air with a warm tenderness. About as harmless as a dandelion.
“What? I’m just complimenting you!” she said, coyly tracing a finger down his chest, her smile dancing across her lips. “Can’t I tell my boyfriend how handsome and charming he is?”
His hand rested lightly on her hip. “You made fun of me.”
“That’s not true,” she defended, pressing a finger to his lips, “I called you handsome because you are.”
He felt his face burn as he pinched his brows, eyeing her briefly. He darted his tongue out, swiping a wet streak of spit across her finger.
“Eew!!!”
Amy jumped back as if Shadow had burned her, wiping her finger across his arm with disgust. She shot her eyes up at him, a deep frown on her face. “Gross! Did you really--” he pressed a chaste kiss to her lips, cutting off her annoyance.
He smirked at the gawked expression she wore.
“That’s payback.”
Amy blinked, her train of thought short circuiting before she twisted her mouth. She scoffed lightly, playfully shoving his shoulder and pushing a chuckle from him. “For what??”
He hummed, his smile small. “For being cheesy,” he murmured. He kissed her again, planting it against her jaw. “You’re sappy as hell.”
She stifled a giggle, trying to maintain her serious composure.
“Pfft—you love it. You’re just shy!”
Shadow scoffed, smiling against her muzzle. He wanted to collect all her laughs, bury them in his chest and let daisies sprout from between his ribs. Her voice was so warm and soft, sticking to his fur like the last sheens of pollen before Spring turned to Summer.
“No I’m not,” he gently pulled her hips closer to him as he left another kiss, then another, and another, decorating her with his affections. She giggled happily, her arms wreathing around his shoulders as his lips trailed down to her shoulder.
“Are too.”
He didn’t miss the slyness in her voice, grinning against her shoulder.
“Of course,” he murmured, hot kisses ringing across from the notch in her neck to her shoulder. “I’m so shy…”
He left a bold wet streak across her peachy skin, his teeth grazing with taunt before sinking down. The quiet sigh that parted her lips sank with a deep heat in his gut. He licked over his mark, cleaning away the beads of dark honey that surfaced. He repeated the pattern, acting as Summer, decorating her skin with the promise of blue and purple blooms in the morning.
His ears twitched at the quiet noises that escaped her throat, encouraging his hand to stroke up her sides. His nails dragged the day up her skin, waking her body under his hand.
He slipped it under the blanket, and over her hip, finding purchase on her ass. He buzzed across her skin, tracing light shapes against it and drawing sweet gasps from her lips.
With a breathy groan, Shadow savored the feeling of her nails raking down his back, collecting his nerves under her palms. They jumped relentlessly within him and in an instance, he shoved the covers off of Amy, flipping her onto her back.
She squealed happily, grinning up at him.
Quiet and breathless, they stared at each other, Shadow’s crimson eyes black in the dark as they flickered across her face. He consumed her, a flame in a forest, burning every inch and crook of her natural beauty to the back of his eyes. He’d tattoo her there if he could.
The stars on the ceiling sparkled mischievously in her eyes, glowing dimly down on her flushed face. The strap on her shoulder had fallen loosely around her bicep, nicely framing Shadow’s artistry across her skin. She reached out for his face, bringing him closer to her.
“Am I still shy?”
He asked slowly, his voice rumbling deep in his chest as Amy threaded her fingers through his quills. He watched her carefully, studying her face as she hummed softly.
Her breath hit his lips. “I need more convincing.”
And with that, she sealed him with a kiss, pillowing sugar over his lips. She slipped sweetness into his tart mouth, enveloping him in her gummy heart. He groaned from the molten caramel she had snuck into his gut, his hand itching as they ghosted against her body.
He smoothed his palm up her thigh-to-hip in repetition, relishing in the familiar curve of her body. His rough fingers felt the outline of her form, crystallizing the softness of her thigh to his callousness. With enough pressure, could he fuse them into one giant diamond?
His palm pressed hotly against the warm softness of her inner thigh before he slipped back to her hip in tease. His thumb rubbed across it and enticed an impatient noise from her, her legs tensing around him.
No. Shadow would never trade her marshmallow softness for chiseled diamonds.
It made his stomach flutter in ways he never knew. In ways that still startled him.
He wanted to work all of Amy like hot candy, pinching her walls and thinning them down, molding their wet pliable hearts to one-another to beat in sync.
“Shadow,” she mewled between kisses, her hand lightly tugging his head back. He groaned softly, looking at her through hooded eyes. The sharpness of her voice struck him like a strung arrow, spooling with heat deep in his chest.
“Love,” he hummed, hungrily kissing her jaw.
Greedily, he burned and scorched over her thighs, pushing them apart to slot himself between them. She held him between her arms and legs, caging him within her web of sweetness.
Maybe he had walked right into her mouth, bared his neck out for her to snack on, given her exactly what she wanted. Shadow couldn’t care less.
Heat rushed straight down his spine to between his legs, his hands hiking up the line of Amy’s thighs. He hooked a finger under the hem of her panties and pulled back on the stretchy band, letting it slap lightly against her hip.
The hand in his quills tightened and she stifled a little noise.
He slipped his hand further down, pressing against her clothed wetness. The warmth rivaled hot sand on the beach, the fact rushing to melt his thoughts. She whined, rocking her hips in waves against his rocky hand. His cock twitched, a low groan shaking at the back of his throat.
“You’re so wet…” he murmured, his calloused fingers rubbing gently against her clit, followed by her chasing hips.
A heady moan came from under her breath. “Of course I am,” she stuttered. “Hurry up, Shadow…”
Shadow hummed in response, lazily holding her knees up. He kissed the side of her legs, trailing his lips down her thigh, carving a river of affections across her skin that were bedded with goosebumps for stones. He hovered over the junction where her thigh met her body, flicking his tongue over the skin.
Amy whimpered with a jerk, her hips bucking.
He blew a ticklish breath against her.
“Stop teasing.”
Quietly, he sat back up, his sharpened nails grazing her skin as his eyes scorched up the planes of her body. He fixed her legs around him, his palms pushing her thighs apart, and his chest tightened as she laid exposed beneath him.
Hot slick glistened between her legs, running down her folds in a quiet plea. He hummed softly, slowly feathering his thumb over her split, from bottom to top, letting her arousal collect there.
“Shadow,” she gasped, her hips jutting upwards, seeking him—needing more.
He swallowed thickly. “So needy,” he murmured, drawing a lovely halo around her clit, but never touching. A breathy moan left her as her hands fisted the sheets.
“Shadow,” she tried again.
“Relax, my Love.” He fixed his fingers over her slick folds, running along them like combing honey. She was so fucking wet.
An ached throbbed behind his gut and a loose groan undid itself from his throat.
“So perfect,” he said, letting his fingers feel along her nerves. “So beautiful.” He circled her entrance like a hungry wasp, Amy’s breath beautifully hitching.
God, he’d love to make her gasp like that over and over and over again.
He generously pushed two fingers into her, collecting the nectar that was her face twisting with pleasure. She sighed deeply, her hips rolling greedily as he sank his fingers further until his knuckles bumped against her.
“So slutty.”
Amy bit her lip to catch a whimper, her lashes fluttering close as shame colored her muzzle. It was the same shade pulsating between her legs. So cute.
She continued to grind her hips against his hand, his fingers rooted still as she set the pace. He mused at the sight, his tongue heavy in his dry mouth.
Shadow could sit there all night and watch her fuck herself agaisnt his palm. Let her desperately hump his hand, bringing herself to an orgasm like it was the only thing she knew how to do. And he’d get to watch every second of herself coming undone, unraveling all around his fingers. Tempting, and his cock twitched delightfully in agreement, but he was Summer.
And he planned to be terribly selfish.
His other hand held her hip, squeezing her to grow still. She protested with a wiggle, her brows knitting together. He curled his fingers, brushing her sweet spot with the practice of an artist. A thrumming kissed his fingertips, her excitement beating hotly around his fingers, and melted gold collected in his gut.
He withdrew his hand, his fingers sliding out wetly. He traced her entrance once again, as if he forgot his manners to welcome himself then properly reburied himself right back in. She cried as he lanced right through her, thrusting his fingers until he had a steady and powerful rhythm.
Amy was his instrument he used to conduct a song of sin, stringing breathy moans and gasps like dissonant chords dancing for her high. This was usual, the impatient keys in her voice as she tried jumping over sections and remixing the tempo, completely disregarding the order of the melody. She always wanted to skip to the chorus, jumping off the bridges and past the verses and straight for the core.
But Shadow was disciplined.
He knew how to collect her nerves and keep her on beat; even if a fraction of him wanted to give in to her, let her change the course of symphony all together. She sounded as beautiful as she looked, and even more so when her orgasm would finally color her red and high.
And she could. Just from his hands alone.
A groan trembled from him and his cock pressed free from its sheath.
He murmured a curse, drawing his hand from her once again.
Amy bucked instantaneously with a whine. “No!”
She jerked upwards and her desperate gaze met with her tool of salvation. Though she was quiet, Shadow saw the shotgun of shivers that ran up her spine, a scarlet color flushing to her ears.
A smirk pinned itself to his lips.
He brought his slickened hand over his cock, letting her wetness coat over his own. He grunted at the bolts of hot pleasure each pump fried him with, sighing deeply through his nose. The aching pressure in his abdomen subsided for a moment, the growing discomfort ebbing away into something more tolerable.
Amy slid her hand over his hand, following his movements before completely taking over. He stiffened against her gentle touch, his breath catching in throat.
“Amy,” he warned, his voice clipped.
She bit her lip but it didn’t stop her mouth from curling.
“Love,” she mocked.
She squeezed the base of his cock and dragged her hand firmly up along the length, coaxing a guttural moan from him. Her fingers were like rain against a hot street, he wanted to kiss them thank you.
Both his hands found her hips, his nails carving crescents along her skin.
“Fuck.”
Amy giggled, squeaking happily as Shadow dragged their hips like magnetics easily clicking together. His cock twitched in her palm, the rolling heat from her pussy challenging Summer’s day.
A light finger was drawn up the side of his cock. “Who’s slutty now?”
His only response was to rub his dick along her slick folds, grunting from the wetness that licked up his length. He drew a moan from her throat, her legs tensing around his waist and he repeated the movement. Warm fires ran up his spine, tying each vertebrae with a golden ribbon of ecstasy.
“I can’t take this anymore,” she whined and Shadow couldn’t determine if the pitchyness in her tone was either frustration or desperation. Regardless, it made his dick jump.
She was a well of want and need, so she impatiently fixed his cock over the mouth of her arousal, guiding the tip of his cock with shaky fingers. She tensed at the brief fullness, holding him still as she adjusted to him.
But Shadow sunk himself selfishly into her.
“Shadow,” she cried, her body bowing off the bed and squeezing around him.
A moan trembled from his lips and he anchored his hands around her waist, keeping her still flushed against him.
“Fuck, you’re amazing baby,” he purred, his breathing heavy. “So fucking perfect.”
Shadow slowly rocked his hips into her, sucking in a sharp breath as each roll was met with her whimpering. Sweat began to bead along the base of his neck, despite the humming fan. He had to tear his eyes off from where their bodies connected and drag them up her body to find her face.
Although, Amy couldn’t have done the same. Her gaze was locked to Shadow’s thrusting hips, her mouth hidden behind her hand.
None of that.
Shadow took her wrist in his hand, kissing softly against her racing pulse. He let his tongue leave a wet strip up her wrist to the tip of her nail, where he kissed every finger. Amy watched him, her breathing ragged and hoarse like a hurricane was battling inside her chest.
He pressed her wrist against the mattress, looming over her. His eyes carefully traced over her face for a final time before he came to a gradual halt.
Frustration struck across Amy’s face. He might as well have slapped her instead of stopped.
Suddenly, Amy’s strong thighs squeezed around his hips and Shadow’s vision became a blur of color as she threw her weight around him. He gasped, his back hitting the bed and his quills flaring around him.
When he opened his eyes, an angel was straddling his hips, lowering herself further onto his cock with a moan. He hissed at the newfound heat that perfectly swallowed his entire length, his jaw clenching.
“Amy, wait—“ his hands flew for her hips, but she smacked them away.
“I’ve waited enough. I’m going crazy.”
She rolled her hips, her clit grinding against him with his cock buried deep inside her. She tipped her chin back in a shaking moan, her hands leaning back on his thighs. Every jerk and grind against him made her breast bounce, and without direction or sense, her movements were sloppy and desperate.
She was selfish.
She was Summer.
And seeing her atop of him made him want to build a temple right there, just so he could pray and worship the image of her there alone. He understood why people sung and treasured Summer’s imposible heat.
“God, baby, you’re amazing,” he repeated, like a prayer. “Look at you. You’re so pretty like this.”
Amy moaned, her head lolling to the side as she met his gaze through her hooded lashes. She swallowed thickly, her lips curling into a smirk.
“Look at me? Look at you,” she stuttered, leaning forward so her chest was flushed with his.
He bit his lip, his shaky hands coming back to her hips. When Amy didn’t fight against them, he latched onto her, pulling and pushing her hips into a proper rhythm, but he matched her tempo.
Shadow collected her quick erratic movements into an organized mess, a gasp ripping from her throat.
She nodded with eager approval, her fingers digging into his shoulders. “Yes, that’s it. Don’t stop, keep going.”
He pressed his eyes shut. “Amy—“
“Look at me.”
Shadow strained a moan, his breath shallow as he continued he thrust into her. Her eyes were pools of cloudless morning, her quills framing her breast which were generously pushed up against his chest. Her brows were knitted together and blush was burning across her muzzle, no doubt shades darker than the one in his own.
She gasped once he hit a particular corner, her body freezing over. He felt her walls clamping around him and her nails began biting into his thighs. She dropped her head against his chest, chanting his name in a broken string of prayers.
“Wanna cum, baby?” He murmured.
“Yes! Please, yes!”
He chuckled. “I bet.”
With all his strength and self-control, Shadow anchored her hips down, holding her still for just a moment. She cried, scratching his shoulders.
“Shadow—“
“Relax, baby.”
Shadow lifted her hips off of him, his cock springing out with only a bridge of wetness connecting them. A broken cry left Amy, and an animalistic look flashed across her eyes. She thrashed for a moment, but Shadow threw her back against the mattress, flipping her onto her stomach.
Amy sunk into the mattress under Shadow’s weight, her mind scrambled from her aching pussy. It pulsated painfully with tremors of pleasure, her orgasm escaping her with every grueling moment Shadow took. Her eyes briefly skittered to the clock on her night table: four-o’-two in the morning.
She’d have to be up in two hours. She could already feel a bruise settling deep—
Shadow buried his cock deep inside her. Again.
She screamed, her thoughts tearing in two like wet paper.
“Do that some more,” he grunted out, lifting her hips with a hand as he pinned her neck to the bed with the other. “How many times can I make you come before I do… wanna place bets?”
Shadow thrusted wildly against her, skin slapping against skin wetly bouncing off the walls. Fat tears were streaking down her face, sharp moans and whimpers whirling from her chest like a storm. She sobbed, pleasure burning her nerves and searing her vision white.
“Oh, God,“ she choked, saliva dribbling down her chin.
“Shadow—“
“Hm?”
“Please.” Her legs trembled, the curled spring of pleasure growing painfully tight behind her gut.
A husky breath fell from Shadow, his grip growing tight around her hips. He left a kiss on her neck, sending a hot breath down her spine.
“Go ahead, baby,” he murmured against her ear, biting her lightly. “Let me feel you cum.”
Euphoria exploded between her legs, the sting behind her gut shooting up her spine and straight for her head. She sang Shadow’s name between broken moans and cries, her breathing heaving as her heart slammed against her ribcage. It was like a wild bird was trying to escape her chest.
For a few beats, all Amy could do was breath and lie limp beneath him, her body twitching with aftershock. She swallowed thickly, shuddering her breath once Shadow slipped his firm cock out of her. His own finish trickled from between her flushed slit, like thick and heavy honey.
A hot kiss landed onto her spine, a quiet whimper escaping her.
“You’re so beautiful.”
She hummed in response before the cool wind of the fan began airing out her high.
Goosebumps rose to her skin and she instinctively curled up. Shadow’s weight suddenly disappeared and Amy watched him shuffle out from the room. After some time had passed, a sinking feeling began to settle in her chest and she propped herself up, about ready to storm into the living room.
But just then, Shadow reappeared, with a cloth and glass of water. His arousal hadn’t returned with him, neatly tucked away.
“I thought you left,” she blurted.
He tilted his head curiously in her direction, a crooked smile on his lips.
“What?”
He settled the glass onto the bed side table, then gestured for Amy to shuffle over. She did so, Shadow pulling her closer by her waist. She hummed quietly as Shadow ran the warm damp cloth gently between her legs, a deep sigh of content huffing from her chest.
“I thought you went to sleep on the couch or somethin’…”
Shadow chuckled.
“Hit me with that hammer of yours if I ever left before taking care of you.”
It was Amy’s turn to giggle.
Shadow handed Amy the glass of water with a small smile. She happily accepted it, her throat dryer than she had noticed. Shadow had traveled about the room in a few strides, throwing the cloth into a wash basket and returned with another cloth.
He knelt to the floor, Amy nearly choking on her water as he kissed her knee.
“Shadow, I can’t—“
“My Love, relax,” he said, light heartedly, dragging a fresh pair of underwear up her calves. “I can’t kiss you now?”
Amy huffed, her face going red.
“Maybe not pass three in the morning,” she murmured, half-serious.
He snickered, kissing her ankle anyways. “Fair enough.”
Shadow took the glass from her and Amy shimmied her panties up her thighs, fixing the band around her hips. Shadow collected their heavy comforter, crawling right up beside Amy while throwing the blanket over them.
Amy happily let him scoop her up, cuddling warmly against his side. His hand stroked gentle circles against her back, his chin resting atop her head as their breaths began to churn slower.
“Thanks for that,” he murmured, his heavy eyes shuttering closed.
Amy hummed in response, yawning as she nuzzled deeper against his chest fur.
And Shadow hated Summer a little less.
