The Dye Incident

Summary:

“Once every month, we all get together and help each other dye our hair,” Sloan explained.
“Do you want to join?” Charlie asked, excitedly.
“You should come! You would look amazing with a blue streak!” Lydia exclaimed. Marisol was contemplating, but Charlie could see she needed more persuasion.
“Pleeeeeeeease Mari?” Charlie begged, with Lydia joining in soon after. Marisol sighed with resignation.
And that’s why Marisol was now sitting in a chair as Lydia and Charlie attacked her hair with a variety of blue hair dyes.

Marisol agrees to get her hair dyed, immediately regrets it, and tries to figure out how to get rid of it with a certain half-brother helping...

Work Text:

We’re still on for tonight, right? It’s about time I bleach again, and that is not a one-person job.” Charlie asked as she sat down next to Sloan and Lydia.

“Obviously. I have to dye my hair again.” Lydia responded.

“You don’t even have to dye your hair. You can change your hair color at the drop of a hat.” Sloan commented.

“It’s the experience really that matters.” Lydia insisted as Marisol sat down next to her.

“What are you talking about?” Marisol asked.

“Why won’t any dye work?!” Lydia griped, putting more globs of dye on her brush.

“Her hair is too dark? I feel like you should know that by now.” Sloan facepalmed. Lydia gave a look that said ‘I should have known.’ Charlie searched her bag of supplies for a few minutes before pulling out a medium-sized white bottle.

“How about we bleach her hair?” Charlie asked, waiving the bottle. Upon seeing Marisol’s horrified face, she put the bottle down and continued searching before pulling out another bottle, this time a blue bottle, similar in size to the bleach bottle. “Or this dye. It’s made for black/dark brown hair.” She read off.

“Let’s try that.” Lydia agreed. They both nodded and got to work.

In about thirty minutes, Marisol had a blue streak in her hair.

“Not gonna lie, you actually pull that off pretty well.” Sloan mused. Charlie and Lydia nodded in agreement. Marisol looked in the mirror, and while she didn’t despise it, it wasn’t quite her style.

“So… I guess I’ll help you guys now with your hair?” Marisol asks, getting out of the chair she was sitting in. Sloan nodded and took her place.

“Char, you want me to do yours?” Lydia asked, and Charlie sat down in the chair in front of her. “Alright, Mari, here’s how you do it…”

After about an hour or two, all four of them had their hair dyed and were packing up their supplies.

“See you guys at campfire?” Marisol asked, and the other three people nodded.

“See you there, Mari.” Sloan waved. Marisol waved and ran to Cabin 3.

"What did I get myself into?" She sighed, trying to think of ways to get rid of the streak, before remembering her half-brother and sister had access to the internet. She quickly ran to the bathroom. She had an Iris Message to make.

“Sunny? Nice hair.” Percy said when he picked up.

“I have a question. Do you and Annabeth still dye your white streaks in?” Marisol questioned frantically.

“Yeah. What about it?”

“So… I might’ve agreed to get some of my hair dyed, and I need to figure out how to get rid of it quickly. Any tips?”

“I found something online. Let’s see….”

And after about thirty minutes and many, many strategies tested, the blue streak was gone, much to her relief. She got ready to leave for dinner, tying her hair up in a bun and putting on a beanie. ‘It is probably better if I don’t show them that I immediately washed it out…’ Marisol concluded, walking to dinner. Even with Marisol's mixed feelings bout her hair, she couldn't deny she had a good time, and would probably be coming back to the hair-dyeing sessions to help.

Notes:

I finally posted yayayayay
Also, the part about Percabeth dying back in their white streaks from holding up the sky ISN'T CANON! It's a headcanon I saw once on Pinterest and absolutely frickin' love, so that's why I'm using it.
I'll probably release like Character profiles or something about these sillies soon, but If you want to see that sooner, I have a characterhub that I'm probably gonna put them on first so yeah.
Hope you guys have a good day :)
