Work Text:
Aira’s mission today was to find a good match for a lonely guy called Nagi Seishiro. Her friend, Hinako’s mission was to make a guy called Mikage Reo to fall in love with someone. They went to the same school but their situations were completely different.
“Your guy at least interact with people!” Aira complained, where they sat on the roof looking at the people coming in and out of the school. “This guy has never had a crush on anybody, plus he avoids people like the plague!”
“Mikage might be friendly with people,” Hinako said slowly. “but he hasn’t liked anybody in a long time, and that was a celebrity crush. The people around him seem to like him mostly because of his money sadly. I can’t let this guy end up with someone like that.”
“No fair you have a starting point at least!”
She sighed and jumped down from the roof. Hinako followed her as they transformed into their human shapes.
“Do you have an idea on who to choose?” Aira asked.
Hinako crossed her arms and shook her head.
“The best option right now is that girl over there.” she said and pointed to a brown haired girl who was giggling with her friends. “She seems to have a genuine crush on him at least, although she doesn’t seem to care for his personality. Mikage doesn’t have the least interest in her though, so I do not know if it’s the best match. He’s gotten into football too so that means he won’t have time to spend with her.”
“Then someone in the football club might be good?”
“They seem more interested in girls, I don’t want a complicated relationship for him.”
A mutual sigh left their mouths and they agreed to split up to follow their targets. The classmates’ opinion on Nagi were in summary: very varied. At least some of them thought he was a good luck charm, which Aira stuck closer to during the day. They seemed to be more interested in other people (or Mikage) however, so that was a dead end. Aira considered a person who was also lonely, more similar to him, but Nagi didn’t seem like the type to want to engage in conversations, so an extroverted person would perhaps be better fit after all.
The day passed and Aira could not for her (now dead) life decide on a person to make Nagi fall in love with. She looked on as he played his games in a stairwell in a corner of the school when suddenly a person passed right through her. Aira quickly stood up to get a good look at the person.
“Aira!” Hinako said, surprised, and Aira quickly looked back before they both rushed to get a better view of the scene.
Mikage bumped into Nagi who flew down the stairs and caught his phone on his feet. The world seemed to stop as Hinako threw a meaningful look at Aira before shooting a bullet straight through Mikage’s head. Mikage rushed down the stairs to the dissinterested Nagi, trying to convince him to join his team.
“Agh!” Hinako held her head in frustration. “Stupid! I shouldn’t had done that.”
Aira didn’t say anything to it as she watched the scene unfold. No this would work. Nagi would probably not be very quick to realise his feelings, but Mikage could be the right person. Aira walked down the stairs as Mikage threw out the question:
“Let’s play soccer together!”
Aira shot her bullet straight through Nagi’s heart and then looked up at Hinako with a grin, throwing a thumbs up.
“This will work out Hinako.” she said. “I’m sure of it.”
Hinako flew down the stairs to Aira.
“A genius and a talent. Should be a great match.” Hinako said and held up a fist.
Aira bumped it as they walked out of the school. Those two would defenitely find a way to make this work. Some way.
