Chapter Text
Charlie came up the stairs of the hotel and into her room to see Vaggie rummaging through pictures for yet another photo collage for the lobby. The rest of the hotel felt like there were going to be so many photo collages that there would be no room left to put them eventually. Charlie looked at all the pictures to see all the hotel memories that Vaggie cherished throughout the years, most of which were with Charlie.
“Vaggie! These are all great photos! Did you choose which ones you want to put on the collage?”
“Not yet; I’m still deciding between quite a few of them. I’m going to need some help to choose which ones.”
Charlie looked on their bed to see all the photos scattered, with so many of Vaggie with the hotel residents, and actually smiling. She has noticed how much happier Vaggie has been since the hotel became livelier, and she wanted this collage to be the proof to show her. Charlie dug through the photos to see one that was buried that did not have Vaggie in it at all. It was a picture of a young couple, who looked like they were in their teens, posing together on a beach. It looked like it was taken in the mid nineteen seventies.
“Vaggie, do you know who this is?” Charlie asked once the photo was revealed.
Vaggie blushed before answering. “That’s an old picture of my parents when they still lived in El Salvador. You know that I lived there until I was two years old when my mom and sisters moved to Dallas. I remember telling you and the rest of the hotel a lot of stories about my mom before.”
“I remember; what happened to your dad, though? I don’t think you ever shared stories about him.”
“Because I have no memories of him. He died in a car crash when my mom was still pregnant with me, so I never got to meet him.”
Charlie looked at the picture again, then back at Vaggie. “So you have no idea what your dad was like?”
“My mom and oldest sister did tell some stories about him when I was younger whenever I would see pictures of him around the house. When I think of those stories, it makes me wish he was alive to raise me.”
“Have you seen him since after you died?”
“No, I was recruited to the exorcism almost immediately after coming to Heaven, and I wasn’t allowed to see anyone outside of the exorcism, so I don’t even know if he’s in heaven or not. But based on my mom’s stories of him, and the fact that I never saw him around Hell, he’s probably in Heaven.”
Charlie thought before she could say anything else. “Do you at least remember his name?”
“Yes; his name is Destino. My mom mentioned his name several times in our house.”
Charlie looked at the picture again, then back at Vaggie. “You know, he was really handsome, he looks just like you, Vaggie.”
“I always thought so too.”
Charlie left their room to allow Vaggie to confirm her photos for the collage. She went downstairs and locked herself in the lobby’s bathroom to video chat Emily. She knows this will be yet another big ask for Emily, but once Vaggie said she wishes she got to meet Destino, it was a sign that Charlie needed to bring him to Hell to meet his youngest daughter that he did not live to meet. Three dial tones were heard before Emily picked up the phone.
“Hi, Charlie! How have you been? I have so much I have to share with you since we last spoke!” Emily said once she got on camera.
“I’ve been pretty good. Listen, I have another big thing to ask you. Remember during Angel’s birthday last year when I told you that he wanted to see Molly again and you and Sir Pentious came by with her to surprise him?”
“I remember that.”
“Well, Vaggie and I were just talking while she was looking for pictures for our new photo collage for the lobby, and I found a picture of her parents when they were teenagers. She mentioned that her dad died in a car crash when her mom was still pregnant with her, so he never got the chance to raise her. She mentioned that she wishes she could have met him, and he hasn’t seen him in Hell, so I was wondering if maybe you could help me again with this?”
“I do remember meeting a man who looked quite a bit like Vaggie when Sir Pentious and I were on an outing. I tried to talk to him, but it was hard for me to do so because he only knew Spanish.”
“Do you remember his name?”
“I think he mentioned his name being Destino.”
Charlie’s eyes twinkled once Emily mentioned his name. “That’s Vaggie’s father’s name! Do you think you can bring him down here some time?”
“But how can I talk to him? I don’t know any Spanish.”
“Do you know anyone who does, so they could help you translate?”
“I could ask my friend, Rosa, who I met through Molly a couple of years ago. She knows both languages, so she could translate for both of us.”
Charlie squealed and kicked her legs through the stall. “So you’ll do it?”
“Of course I’ll do it! I’ll do anything for you or Vaggie. I’m sure Destino is also longing to meet Vaggie too.”
“Thank you so much! Call me when you get the chance to talk and let me know what he says!”
“Okay! I’ll call you tonight or tomorrow morning!”
Charlie and Emily hung up and Charlie squealed in excitement again and flapped her hands. She just hoped that things would work out and Destino would be able to come to Hell to meet his youngest daughter for the first time.

Emily heard a knock at her door almost immediately after she and Charlie hung up. She answered the door to see Sir Pentious. She already planned on getting lunch with him, but she figured she could call Rosa right after lunch and maybe introduce her to Sir Pentious too. They could also have dinner together with Destino to get to know each other better and maybe ask about Vaggie and his family.
“Sir Pentious! Once we get lunch, can I talk to you about something? It’s super important and I think you would love this idea!”
“Sure; I love helping you out with whatever it is you need.”
“Perfect! Because Charlie called me about Vaggie and it’s another favor in regards to a family member.”
Sir Pentious’s eyes lit up before hugging Emily. He has not seen anyone at the Hazbin Hotel since Angel’s last birthday party and he was more excited than ever about what Emily is going to talk about at lunch. Once Emily and Sir Pentious got to the cafe and got seated, Emily was more than ready to talk.
“Pentious, do you remember last year when we brought Molly over to Hell as a birthday present for both her and Angel?”
“I remember that, yes.”
“Well, Charlie called me this morning not that long before you came, and she was talking to me about Vaggie’s father, and how he died when her mother was still pregnant with her, so they never met. But Vaggie really wants to meet him, so I figured we could meet him sometime tonight and get dinner together?”
Sir Pentious beamed even more when Emily mentioned Vaggie’s father. “Are we going back to Hell for Vaggie to meet him?”
“I hope so. I have a friend, Rosa, that I met through Molly a couple of years ago, and I figured I could invite her with us so she could translate for us and him since he doesn’t know any English.”
Sir Pentious thought for a bit before continuing. “Wait, I remember us meeting someone who looks a lot like Vaggie that only knew Spanish. Are you talking about Destino?”
“Yes, I’m talking about Destino! Would you like to call her to see if we could meet up with him tonight?”
“I would love to! Are you going to call her after lunch?”
“Yep; and I want you to stay over so we can meet her together!”
After Emily and Sir Pentious had lunch, they headed back to Emily’s house to call Rosa and see if she could come over to meet Destino. After hearing three dial tones, Rosa answered the phone.
“Hola, Emily! It’s been a while! How have you been?”
“I’ve been pretty good. Listen, I was wondering if you were available to meet me for dinner with a friend of mine and a relative of another friend of mine. The relative only knows Spanish, so we need a translator for us to get to know him better.”
“Sure! I’m available tonight. What time do you want me to come by?”
“You can come by in an hour so we could meet up with him before going to dinner. I know this would be a surprise to him, but this is for something big!”
“Asombrosa! I’ll see you then!”
Once Emily and Rosa hung up, she and Sir Pentious went upstairs to get ready so he would make the best impression once he met Rosa. Sir Pentious trembled as he and Emily looked for outfits and did each other’s hair. Emily noticed this as she was brushing his hair and feeling him shake.
“Pentious, are you okay? You seem a bit nervous.”
“I am, a little bit. It’s just that I’m meeting two new people today, and I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone.”
Emily reached for Sir Pentious to give him a hug. “You don’t need to be nervous. I will be here, and Rosa and Destino are very sweet. I think both of them will love you!”
After Emily and Sir Pentious got ready, there was a knock at her door. Rosa must be here! Emily and Sir Pentious made their way downstairs and Emily opened the door to see Rosa. She came in and shook hands with Sir Pentious.
“Hola, Emily! Is this one of the friends you were talking about?”
“Yes; he came here from Hell. He was actually the first soul to ever be redeemed! Isn’t that cool?”
“That is cool! I never would have thought a soul would be redeemed!”
“Well, I have a friend who’s actually the Princess of Hell, and she runs a hotel in the Pride Ring to rehabilitate sinners. She called me this morning about her girlfriend’s father because they were talking about him and Vaggie wanted to meet him. He died when her mom was pregnant with her, so she never met her before.”
“I have a picture of us together. Do you want to see?” Sir Pentious added as he took his phone out and scrolled to a picture of him with Charlie and Vaggie on his first day at the hotel. Rosa looked at the picture and noticed something familiar about Vaggie.
“She looks a lot like someone I know. Do you think she would know Destino?” Rosa asked.
“That is actually her father! Charlie was talking to me about her and we want to meet him for dinner to see if he has any memory of another daughter he may potentially have had!” Emily squealed.
“Do you want me to call him? I know it will be a bit difficult to translate through the phone.”
“Sure; just let him know that you’re a friend of mine and we want to meet him to get to know each other better.”
