Chapter Text
It wasn’t silent in the restaurant the two friends were sitting in. The chattering of people under the dim lights on a winter evening was just perfect for the atmosphere.
An atmosphere that mimicked the Great Hall of their school, Hogwarts.
It had been the start of their winter break, and the muggle-born Huffelpuff had dragged his pure-blooded Gryffindor friend back home to his small muggle city, doing the most mundane things with the pureblood that he could.
The dark haired Gryffindor, San, was currently watching a soccer game that was being displayed on the restaurant TV, his attention enraptured by the intense game. He was absentmindedly fidgeting with the rings on his fingers, all silver and elegant save for the ‘friendship ring’ on his left ring finger; a dark metal band with a crescent moon engraved on it. It’s matching pair was silver in colour and had a sun engraved on it, which was worn by the Hufflepuff, who had been the one to buy the rings for the two of them.
Seonghwa, the muggle-born Hufflepuff in question, was sitting by the Gryffindor, distracted by the chocolate milkshake he had ordered; using the straw to lick all the whipped cream that sat atop the beverage.
When San noticed what Seonghwa was doing, a smile spread across his lips in amusement. He watched the unaware Hufflepuff, gaze filled with fondness.
“Cute.” He stated, knowing how the other would react.
Seonghwa looked up at him from the milkshake, wide-eyed, blush across his cheeks -his usual reaction to being complimented. Then came the pout.
“Am not.” He mumbled, focusing back on his drink.
San reached out and pinched Seonghwa’s cheek, chuckling when the Hufflepuff’s face scrunched up.
“Sure you aren’t, babe.” He teased.
Seonghwa bit his bottom lip, getting even more flustered than before. He avoided eye contact as he grabbed San’s hand, intertwining their fingers and resting their hands on the table.
San didn’t react, instead he tightened his grip just a bit, an assurance to Seonghwa.
The two of them went back to what they were previously doing; San continued watching the soccer match, and Seongwa finished his beverage as they waited for their food, neither of them detaching their hands.
It was a calm evening, snow falling outside, Christmas music playing quietly as San and Seonghwa enjoyed their dinner together.
‘I wish you could see how much you mean to me.’ The Gryffindor thought about the Huffelpuff.
