Chapter Text
Kim Dokja hurried through the forest with quick strides as he heard the horses and yells behind him. Normally he would hate the feeling of running, it would make his bones ache and he would feel his throat becoming dry from all his panting. But today, it was a different experience and feeling for Kim Dokja. Honestly he is probably running on adrenaline and fear at the moment.
With all of that chaos going on in such a short paragraph, there are probably many questions that you have at the moment. Honestly I do too and for both of our sake, let’s go back to two years ago.

Kim Dokja was your everyday average salary man in Korea, well mostly. If you ignored all of the previous trauma of having your mother being a murderer, having school bullies, and attempting suicide.
The only thing that was preventing Kim Dokja from attempting again was a novel he fell in love with. It was called Stealing Back the Throne That Is Rightfully Mine that was written by tls123. It was a fantasy novel following the main character Yoo Joonghyuk on his journey to reclaim his kingdom’s throne that belonged to him. It used to be a popular novel series, with many sales of the physical copies but eventually dwindled down to only being posted online.
Today was the day of the novel’s last chapter, and Kim Dokja felt a little sad knowing that. The weather must have sensed it as well since rain started to pour down on him.
Kim Dokja knew he could always try and look for something similar to the book, but he knew it wouldn’t be the same for him. When Kim Dokja finished the chapter, he made sure to express his congratulations to the author in the comment section.
A couple of minutes later, there was a buzz that came from his phone. Kim Dokja curiously looked at his phone to see that tls123 responded back to him.
Just as Kim Dokja was about to read what they wrote, there was a loud scratch of car tires that ripped through the water on the road. When he turned to look at the cause of the noise, he saw the car in the air heading towards him. As it descended, it seemed to move twice as far. Kim Dokja felt excruciating pain before feeling himself getting crushed by something. He tried moving it off of him, but it seemed to be metal. He soon blacked out and the last thing he read from tls123’s comment was the single word epilogue.

When Kim Dokja woke up, the first thing he noticed was that he no longer felt any pain. The second thing he noticed is that he did see his phone anywhere. The third thing he noticed was that he was not in a hospital room.
The last one cleared Kim Dokja’s disoriented brain very quickly. He quickly observed and scanned his surroundings. He seemed to be in some kind of fancy European style room. Many things in the room were gold, and some of the wood he identified were not cheap at all.
‘Is this a prank of some sort? There is no way someone would pull a prank with things worth so much money! I doubt I’m in Korea anymore, because if I was I think this type of room would be on the news for extreme room tours!’ Kim Dokja anxiously thought to himself.
‘Wait, didn’t I get crushed by some kind of car? Don’t tell me it’s equivalent to getting hit by a truck because if so…!’
In a hurry, Kim Dokja looked outside of the windows and it just confirmed that it wasn’t a prank. He saw an endless city with so many people of different kinds of statuses walking through the streets or being transported in carriages.
He gently closed the curtains and looked around for any clues of who he could be in this new world. He looked at himself in the mirror and he still looked the same as he did when Kim Dokja was living in Korea. He tried looking for anything that he could identify himself with, for example a scar.
Just then Kim Dokja noticed a scar that went all the way around on his ring finger.
Even though he had read many other novels other than SBTT (that’s the shortened title that Kim Dokja made) Kim Dokja could recall only one character with a small and distinct scar as his and somewhat familiar features as him.
Kim Dokja didn’t say anything, but a faint tear streaming down his face with a deadpan smile said more than enough.
From what Kim Dokja had recalled, he was a background character who betrayed the main character, Yoo Joonghyuk and foolishly sent assassins after the man. Once Yoo Joonghyuk found out who sent the assassins, he obviously killed the person behind it before continuing his journey.
Seriously, why did that extra decide to do that?! He literally had everything! He was described to be wealthy, have a loving family, and many people who were loyal to him! Did he really have to do all of that just because he wanted to be with the female lead?! Even going so far as scaring himself on his ring finger, a promise to marry the female lead?!
‘I can’t die yet! I need to see Yoo Joonghyuk’s and Lee Seolhwa’s relationship bloom! And as long as I stay out of the way of the story line, I’ll hopefully survive!’ Kim Dokja assured himself.
‘Wait, I could provide Yoo Joonhyuk with information as well! And probably tips on how to improve his relationship with Lee Seolhwa!’
Kim Dokja was so happy with himself that he didn’t hear the hurried steps coming closer to his door.
“Kim Dokja! Oh I’m so relieved that you’re okay!”
“My son, are you okay? Rory get the doctor!”
“Yes Duke, I will be right back. I’ll ask the cooks to start making a light meal for the young master.”
With all of the chaos happening around him, Kim Dokja was panicking internally too.
‘Wait, I knew this extra was rich BUT THEY SERIOUSLY ARE APART OF A DUKEDOM?! I JUST WANT TO LIVE PEACEFULLY!’
