Chapter Text

Shortly before the Clone Wars begin, Obi-Wan encounters an artifact strong in the force at the edge of wild space. Sensing something amiss, he calls in backup, which ends up being in the form of his friend Quinlan. Quinlan is about to start his own mission, investigating rumors of labor issues and The moment Quinlan hugs Obi-Wan in greeting, the artifact starts glowing and both pass out.

Quinlan is first to awake, head pounding, and the force feeling excited and strange. He looks around, finding himself still in the temple, right where he had been when he had greeted Obi-Wan. They had been across the room from the artifact Obi-Wan had discovered. And Obi-Wan was no longer next to him. Instead, a small child lays on the floor next to him. It takes Quinlan another thirty seconds to recognize the youngling, despite his familiarity with them.

He forgives himself on account of it being impossible. But kneeling down and brushing the copper-blonde hair from the youngling’s face reveals the impossible is true. Obi-Wan Kenobi lays on the ground next to him, no more than ten years old, the age he had been when Quinlan had been chosen officially as a Padawan and left the creche. Quinlan has a sudden fear he is also a youngling, but even a brief glimpse of his own arms is enough to reassure him he is still an adult.

Quinlan bags the artifact, now dull and dead feeling in the force, then hefts the still unconscious Obi-Wan onto his hip. It’s surprisingly easy, Obi was always small for his age, but Quin was also smaller then. Now Obi fits easily on his hip, chin resting on his shoulder. It’s honestly pretty adorable.

6 days later

Obi-Wan was pretty sure Quinlan thought having a child size Obi was the best thing that ever happened. In fairness, there were a suprising number of advantages to being a small child, though Obi-Wan would generally rather prefer having his full grown body back. But Madam Nu had confirmed via the documents she sent what Obi-Wan had felt in the force: the only way to become an adult again was to grow up. Lovely. As he was now physically about ten, but had the skills of a Jedi knight, so the council had agreed to Quinlan’s unorthodox solution of a pairbond partnership.

It was basically just a padawanship, but without the restrictions on what type of missions they could take and what classes he had to complete. It certainly made shadow work interesting- traveling with Obi-Wan could be backup while helping sell Quinlan’s cover, which now generally centered around frazzled single father. Their current identities were Nej and Benjin Rendon, mechanic and his eight year old son, immigrating from the outer rim to Lantilles in response to rising tensions on the rim and the closure of the shipyard Nej had been working at.

Nej had been offered a job as an assembler in the Lantillian ShipWrights new Cruiser line. The

Senate had heard rumors of disruptions and malcontent spurred on by Separatist extremists or Mandalorian terrorists, depending on who you asked. Naturally the senate was very concerned for the safety on one of the galaxy’s best shipwrights, and certaintly not on a planet sitting on a major hyperspace lane right on the edge on the expansion zone. The Jedi were also concerned about reports of labor violations and growing corruption.

They would board the public transport on Quermia, having supposedly taken one of the many smaller local shuttles in from an insignificant planet out on the rim. Luckily their transport was one of the newer ones, and would only take about six days to reach Lantillies, stops included. Even with an advance of his first months pay, Nej only had enough for basic seats, which meant six days of sitting in a small row on the shuttle. Each stop was only about hour or so, longer three hour stops where the hyperspace lanes intersected at Lianna, Columex, and Centares. With over twenty stops in total, there at least would be short opportunities to stretch their legs.

Currently, they were standing in the security line, and Obi-Wan was developing a little bit of a problem. The line was long, and they had already been standing in it for over thirty minutes, and Obi-Wan hadn’t thought to use the restroom before getting in line. And his now quite small bladder was rapidly growing full. While he could certainly hold it for a while still, they were not even at the identification check, and they couldn’t even see the scanners from where they were.

“Are you okay Ben?” Quinlan asked, catching Obi-Wans squirming as they shuffled forward a few inches.

“I have to go potty,” Obi-Wan answered, playing up his young age. He was probably closer to ten physically, but small for his age and most rim worlds didn’t bother with official identification for children under ten, and at eight it was reasonable for him to have not been logged in the Republic public school system, as accreditation wasn’t necessary for primary education.

“We won’t be able to go until we are through security, can you hold it?”

“I can try,” Obi-Wan answered verbally, dismissing Quinlan’s concern through the bond.

They continued to inch forwards, and by the time they cleared identity check, Obi-Wan really was growing desperate, but not desperate to notice Quinlan stiffening ever so slightly as they came in view of the screening. What’s wrong? He asked along their bond.

Upgraded machines, he sent back, sabers, he added, and Obi-Wan immediately knew the problem. Most rim worlds had basic security that either couldn’t detect a saber as a weapon, or relied on physical examination when triggered, meaning the Jedi could get through. But the new machines rolling out were much more likely to flag a saber as a weapon, and automatically sent any flagged scans to the network every hour. So even if they tricked the guard records would persist. Next to the newer machine the old machines were still set up, though Obi-Wan didn’t see anyone going through them.

“Daddy, I really have to pee,” he said, increasing his visible squirming. I have an idea, he sent along the bond.

“Only a few minutes more, there is a fresher right on the other side of security,” Quin responded, letting Obi-Wan lean against his side and pass off his saber, newly modified to fit his tiny hands. Quinlan accepted it, sliding it into his jacket to hide who knows where. “Do you want to go first so you can get to the potty faster?” Quinlan asked.

Obi-Wan could see one of the security guards look up at that, but quickly dismissed them, returning to work. A woman in front of them gestured for Obi-Wan to go ahead of her, seemingly wanting to do more.

Obi-Wan nodded. “I really really have to go,” he stated, as they reached the front of the line. Quinlan dropped their duffle onto the conveyor belt as Obi-Wan grabbed his crotch with both hands, legs crossed in the universal youngling signal of ‘I’m about to have an accident.’ His bladder really was about to burst when he got the scanner, where a bored looking security agent asked him to hold his hands above his head and spread his legs out to stand on the yellow marks.

Obi-Wan removed his hands from his crotch as spread his legs. At the same time as the agent began the scan he released his control over his bladder and urine immediately began flowing. It didn’t take long for his pee to saturate his leggings and begin pooling at his feet. The agent called him clear without looking up, and Obi-Wan started crying as he stepped out of the machine to the other side, bladder still emptying.

This finally caught the guards attention and they looked up, catching sight of the crying youngling and growing pool of liquid at their feet. “Aww kriff,” the muttered before pressing a button. “Kayden!” they called over to another agent. “kid peed in the machine,” they added, drawing everyone around them’s attention.

Obi-Wan’s bladder was finally empty, and stood in his puddle, crying as he turned back towards Quinlan. “Daddy,” he sobbed, as the other guard approached.

“Where’s his guardian?” the new agent, Kayden asked.

“Other side I think,” the guard said. “Gotta call clean up for this one,” he added, as Quinlan made his way toward the front of the line, catching the guards eye.

“It’s okay Ben,” he reassured from across security, giving a pleading look towards Kayden. “Can I come through?” he asked.

Kayden seemed to think for a moment before Obi-Wan gave another dramatic sniff, and then nodded. She unlocked the gate blocking off the older scanner and gestured for Quinlan to step through. “Step through,” she gestured, waving to the old scanner.

Quinlan stepped through and immediately knelt near Obi-Wan, careful to avoid the puddle as he played concerned father, waiting for their bag to come through. The woman from before came through the older scanner as well, the rest of the line seeming to have been diverted, before stopping next to Quinlan and saying something to him quietly. Obi-Wan, playing the part of distressed child and searching the guards surface thoughts for anything amiss missed what she said. Thankfully the guards had already dismissed the incident, as Obi-Wan was hardly the first youngling to soil themselves in the security line.

Finally their bag was cleared and Quinlan guided him towards the fresher that really had been only half a dozen feet or so on the other side of security. Quinlan ushered him into the family fresher, locking the door behind them.

“Nice plan,” Quinlan said, dropping their bag to the ground. “Really wasn’t sure what to do with that one besides get someone to clean the system after us.”

“Hopefully not a performance I have to repeat,” Obi-Wan replied. “It’s uh, rather uncomfortable afterward,” he added, shivering slightly in his wet leggings that had quickly grown cold, clammy, and uncomfortable.

“Yes,” Quinlan agreed. “Let’s get you cleaned up and changed,” he added, pulling out a fresh pair of leggings and tunics. He helped Obi-Wan pull off his wet clothes, leaving him naked in the fresher. There wasn’t a shower or sonic he could clean up in, but Quinlan had a cloth and used that and some water to wipe Obi-Wan off best he could.

“No underwear?” Obi-Wan asked as he accepted the new outfit, cream leggings and a soft green tunic that reached just past his waist.

“Just to run to the minimart in the terminal. After that performance we probably should get you padded for the flight, and the woman in line mentioned they sell diapers and wipes.”

“Quin!” Obi-Wan protest, turning red. “That was a distraction.”

“But you really did have to go, and there are never enough freshers on the shuttles. It can be several hours between stops. Plus if you fall asleep, there isn’t much else to do.”

“I stopped bed wetting at nine.”

“Too bad you are eight right now. If you really were eight there would be no way you would be getting on that flight unpadded after that. If not for your comfort, for the cover.”

Obi-Wan huffed, acquiescing to Quin and pulling the leggings on. Quinlan did his best to rinse his clothes in the sink before drying them as much as he could with the hand sonic. His boots were similarly rinsed and dried, but they still felt a little funny when he slipped his feet back in them. Quinlan packed all their stuff back up before unlocking the door.

The mini mart really was impossible to miss, the spaceport designed to funnel all the passengers past it. Quinlan led them inside to the back wall where childcare products were stocked. Sure enough, alongside all the other necessities were diapers and wipes. Quinlan spent a few minutes checking packages before grabbing a pack.

“If you stay dry till Lianna, I won’t make you keep wearing them,” Quinlan promised. “The pack wouldn’t last the whole trip anyways,” he added, grabbing a package of wipes. Checkout was quick, and Obi-Wan soon found him in another family fresher, being lifted onto the changing table.

Quinlan opened the package, pulling out a white diaper with cute lothcats all over it. It fit suprisingly well, though Obi-Wan realized immediately his leggings and short tunic would do nothing to hide the thick padding. He had a suspicion that was on purpose, as he knew he had a third tunic that was longer in the duffle.

Indeed, when Quinlan helped him pull his leggings over it, it was clear to anyone who cared to look that Obi-Wan was wearing a diaper. It didn’t help the diaper was thick enough to prevent him from closing his legs entirely and rose high enough to peek out above the waistband of his leggings. “It’s thick,” he complained, feeling oddly young.

“It’s designed for overnight wear. It’s at least ten hours to our first stop, and I don’t want you to leak. We can try making it to the fresher, this is just in case.”

“Fine,” Obi-Wan agreed, following Quinlan out of the fresher into the spaceport, diaper forcing him to waddle slightly. By the time they make it to the berth, the shuttle is boarding. Their seats are near the middle, amongst the masses of passengers traveling along the Perlimian Route. The seats aren’t luxurious, but Obi-Wan has traveled worse and his smaller size means he actually has plenty of room. It’s Quinlan who is going to be fighting soreness with the force.

He almost settles into meditation to pass the journey before remembering that Benjin is eight, and this is his first trip off his homeworld, so he settles in to watch out the window as the shuttle pushes off and breaks into atmosphere. The ride is bumpy until they reach orbit, the beauty of space catching Obi-Wan off guard. As much as he travels the galaxy, it’s rare that the does nothing else but watch as they leave atmo. He passes the time between launch and hyperspace entry in a semi-meditation, watching ships jump to hyperspace around them, before finally they get clearance for their own jump.

Once they are safely in hyperspace, he asks Quin for a pad, pretending to play some game as he peruses the background information for their mission. They have plenty of time in hyperspace to read it, even twice through, but Obi-Wan would like to get a start on it. Knowing his and Quin’s luck, something will go wrong along the journey. Besides, some of the relevant cultural information is highly fascinating.

He’s reading up on the complexities of inter union relations in the shipbuilding industry when his bladder twinges in sudden warning. He closes the file to realize four hours have passed and he has to pee. Badly again. Apparently he isn’t terribly good at realizing he needs to go in advance in this body. He pokes Quinlan, “I have to pee,” he whispers, rousing Quin from a light nap.

Quin opens an eye to see Obi-Wan already squirming in his seat, legs crossed without him even noticing doing so. He slides out of the seat, allowing Obi-Wan to pass before reaching up above their seat and grabbing a bag, slinging it over his shoulder, Obi-Wan too busy making his way down the aisle to notice.

The fresher in their cabin is, of course, out of order, and they have to make their way to the next cabin, Obi-Wan’s urgency growing even quicker now that he is standing. It takes a few moments to pass through the cabin airlocks, and once they do, the line for the fresher becomes clear, snaking about halfway down the car. Obi-Wan prays its a fast moving line.

He doesn’t make it. There are about five beings in front of them when Obi-Wan’s bladder releases with a sudden hiss. Its a strange feeling, wetting himself in a diaper. His urine pools for a moment, pooling at the front of the diaper faster than it can be absorbed. But as his stream slows the liquid disappears, leaving Obi-Wan’s diaper heavy and warm, but no longer wet feeling.

“It’s okay,” Quin says quietly, “we can get you changed in just a few minutes, we are almost at the front of the line.”

It’s only then that Obi-Wan registers the bag Quin is carrying, realizing it contains changing supplies. He shifts in embarassment, the sodden diaper squishing against his groin, the soaked padding fighting the tight leggings for room. He glances down and sees the diaper is even more visible now, the front bulging obviously and thicker between his legs. He looks up again, only to catch the synpathetic gaze of a parent with their own sleeping child next to them. Great, everyone knows he just flooded his diaper.

It’s another ten to fifteen minutes until it’s their turn in the fresher. Quinlan follows him into the tiny space, just big enough for the two of them to move around. “Well this is going to be fun,” Quin states, balancing his bag on the sink before opening it and pulling out wipes. “Pants down,” he says, waiting for Obi-Wan to comply before ripping open the tapes and pulling the wet diaper out from between his legs. “Give everything a good wipe down,” he says, handing Obi-Wan the pack of wipes as he rolls up the used diaper. Obi-Wan notices idly that a good number of the lothcats are now missing. Quin is quick to toss the used diaper and pull out a fresh diaper as Obi-Wan finishes wiping up. Next the diaper is slid between his legs and taped up, only slightly slower than on the changing table.

“You’re good at this,” Obi-Wan says.

“Lot’s of creche time,” Quin replies. “It was Tholme’s favorite punishment when he disagreed with the need. Slide to the door,” Quin asks, “might as well use the fresher while I can,” he added, making Obi-Wan blush again.

By the time they get back to to their seats, Obi-Wan has mostly forgotten the humiliation of peeing himself in front of everyone. At least this time it was all contained and easy cleaned up, and nobody seemed to really care or notice. They have at least another four hours until their first stop, so Obi-Wan settles back in with the pad, this time turning on Hunter Hunted, and absurd holo novela about a bounty hunter who becomes as mark and has to go on the run. It’s ridiculous, but highly entertaining.

He is on his fourth episode when his bladder twinges again. He looks over at Quinlan, who is asleep in his seat, head awkward leaning on an arm. Obi-Wan could wake him to take him to the fresher again, but Jedi learned the value of sleep young and he didn’t want to wake Quin if he didn’t have to. Beside, he only had to go a little bit and the episode was in a good part. He would see if Quinlan was awake when the episode ended.

He’s just reaching the climatic fight scene that leads to the midseason fanale when the shuttle announcement says they will be dropping out of hyperspace soon and all passengers should return to their seats. Quinlan wakes at the announcement, looking over at the doors which were starting to blink red.

The lights indicated they will be locked shortly. Dropping out of hyperspace is the most dangerous bit, so the doors lock in case there is a loss of cabin pressure. It also, Obi-Wan realized as his bladder reminded him he needed to pee, cut them off from the other cabin where the working fresher was. But if they were dropping out of hyperspace soon, it wouldn’t be long until they docked and Obi-Wan could use either the tiny ship fresher, or one on the dock. He could hold it for a few minutes more.

It was not a few minutes more. He forgot how long it took between dropping from hyperspace and docking, especially for a public shuttle without priority. He thought about saying something to Quinlan, but there was nothing to do but hold it and wait, something that was becoming increasingly difficult with every minutes. Soon he realized that even if the shuttle docked now, he wouldn’t make it, and he was already in a diaper.

That was all it took for his tired bladder muscles to give way and his bladder to empty with what sounded like the world’s loudest hiss into his diaper. It was different wetting while still sitting in his seat, the urine pooling at the front of the diaper, spreading up until the waistband grew warm. He was afraid he was about to spill over, but his stream was still going strong, so he shifted as best he could in his seat belt. All it took was a little gap between his bum and the seat for the pee to spread, quickly being drank up by the dry padding. So much so that the padding quickly expanded so there was no longer a gap between him and the seat.

Finally, after what felt like forever, his stream came to an end and he relaxed again. Quinlan seemed not to have noticed, absorbed in his own pad, and a quick glance around indicated nobody else had witnessed Obi-Wan’s accident. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be long until it was noticed, as the diaper had expanded considerably, bulging awkwardly in the crotch and forcing his legs slightly apart. Worst, the shuttle was only now beginning it approach into orbit, indicating Obi-Wan would be stuck sitting in his pee for a while yet.

He shifted as the shuttle began to shake with re-entry, the diaper squishing underneath him. As the entered the atmosphere, the shaking intensified, and Obi-Wan was surprised to feel more urine pool in the front of his diaper as the rattling released more from his tired bladder.
