Chapter Text
How Noah had started working for McLean of all people was a mystery, even to himself. He'd been part of the few "unlucky" ones to not make it into the lake in time to participate in the second season of Total Drama, "Total Drama Action." Not that he minded; he'd been one of the first to get kicked out the first time, and the only reason he'd tried to search for the briefcase in the first place was because Eva and Izzy (sorry, Team E-Scope) had offered for him to join their team.
He ended up staying at the new "Playa Des Losers" with a handful of other players, so of course he ended up talking to some of them, willingly or not. Surprisingly, he ended up getting along with most of them, and most of them had even gotten to teach Ezekiel about the rules of society outside of his farm and how women were not weak or unintelligent.
Little by little, as people got eliminated, Noah ended up talking to more and more people, and somehow, he even started getting along with the show's staff. Now, not to brag, but Noah is an intelligent guy, a bookworm since he was little, knowing random trivia about almost all topics, so when they asked his opinion for certain challenges, the cynic couldn't help but feel a bit proud of himself.
Except, as it turns out, the show host noticed the quality shift and decided to reach out to the person to get him in on the show's team, and long story short, he ended up as Chris's personal assistant, which did mean he had less time to talk to the other past contestants or to generally spend time relaxing. Thankfully, Chris had decided to keep his work private so he couldn't get "bullied" by the other teens.
It also meant he had to be the one to deal with the paperwork when Courtney tried to sue the show and when Justin wanted compensation for his injuries. But thankfully, the season was soon over, with Beth winning the million (and not gambling it off like Owen had the season before).
But the schemer stayed working under Chris, handling the man's paperwork and professional phone calls. Training the new interns and hires, making coffee to the point where he could smell the caramel even while at home.
So when Chris announced he would be hosting a new Total Drama season with an all-new cast, you can imagine Noah was the one who had to watch through the thousands of auditions, selecting people who would fit "Total Drama's Unnamed Season 3."
"What do you mean they changed their mind?"
It had been close to a year since the 3rd season of Total Drama was announced, and the casting had already started for Total Drama Dirtbags. Hell, he'd already met a few people who made it past the first casting phase, and now this. The boss's irritating voice broke through his thoughts.
"I don't know what to tell you, man. The fans don't want a new cast! And the producers say what the fans want goes, so..."
The assistant stared at the man blankly. "Right. He crossed his arms, taking a sip of his own black coffee. "So what do I say to all the people I've already talked to?" He pulled out his phone, staring down at his agenda, and asked, "And how do you plan to bring back the old cast?"
Noah stopped himself in thought, "Actually..." Chris grinned; he liked that look. That's the look his assistant had when he had an idea, and coming from Noah, that was usually a good thing. "They're greedy for fame; if we make them think they're being replaced, they'll do anything to get back on the show!"
See, this is why Chris hired this guy. "There's that brain we hired you for; now, how do we go about this?" Noah wrote down something on his phone. "Celebrity Manhunt has been working on getting info about the old contestants; it's safe to assume they'll be at the Grammys red carpet in 5 months. How about we select one of the Total Drama Dirtbags auditionees that could fit with the old cast... I might have someone in mind. Throw in some obviously fake contestants that pull up in a limo. You call the old contestants washed up, and they'll do anything to get back on the show".
The celebrity smirked. "This is why I pay you the big bucks, man! Well, get on with it, kid. We don't have all the time in the world." Noah sighed, walking out of the room. "Of course, boss."
He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
"Is this Alejandro Burromuerto? We're reaching out to you about your audition for Total Drama season 3. We are happy to say you've made it to the next phase in casting."
