Crash Test

Summary:

“Simple question. Okay? Were you a bitch? Yes or no?”

Wolfgang fiddled with his hands behind his back, “Perhaps there was some bitchlike behaviour—”

Work Text:

Wolfgang stood in his shared dorm, for once out of his element. Unfortunately, Miss Maddis— Grace had discovered him in the kitchen.

In efforts to keep the peace in the academy, he was forced to confess everything. Including his fake illness from that very morning.

He’d estimated the fallout to be bad, but not quite this bad.

“I assure you, that was not the case,” Wolfgang annunciated with a serious expression. For once it didn’t seem like he was interested in making excuses, so Grace tilted her head.

“Speak.”

“I only intended to keep you out of harms way,” The aura around Grace spiked dangerously, “Because I knew you would follow me.” Grace’s expression became the calm before the storm. Wolfgang felt as if he had chosen the wrong dialogue option, irrecoverably.

“Right.”

Her voice was hard as steel. Grace turned and briskly stalked out of the room, slamming the door behind her. The echo of it thundered down the hall.

It was quiet for a good 10 seconds. Wolfgang ran a hand through his hair, muttering to himself.

“She’ll come around…"
