Work Text:
Sounds of survivors talking and laughing enveloped the cabin's surrondings. It had been livelier than ever. The main reason for this being, the survivors were on fire. Not literally, but more in the sense they were surviving from the killers extremely well. Just that day, all of them escaped from death's grasp. Everyone surviving wasn't a common occurrence, and so the survivors celebrated whenever it did.
Inside, Elliot and 007n7 were in the kitchen cooking something up. Meanwhile, the others were told to wait in the living room. The scent made it's way to them, making it increasingly more difficult for them to stay put. Shedletsky seemed the most impatient of them.
"What is taking them so long? I'm gonna die of starvation here!" Shedletsky laid on the couch full of exaggerated despair.
It hadn't actually been that long, but it felt that way to him.
"The two haven't quit, they work as quick as can be. Keep your cool, soon there will be food." Dusekkar spoke with his usual cryptic way.
Most were aware of Shedletsky's insatiable hunger, but he'd always be the one to remind him to be patient. Just when Dusekkar finished speaking, Taph appeared.
"🍕🍔🍴✅️ (Elliot and 007n7 have finished cooking.)" The two of them sent him to tell the others.
"About time!" Shedletsky jumped from the couch and dashed toward the dining area.
The others followed suit, all except for Chance and Builderman.
"❌️🏃♂️(Not going to come?)" Taph noticed the two remaining in their spots.
"Nah, we ain't hungry. Just tell Shedletsky to save some for us." Builderman knew Shedletsky would eat it all if he had no one to hold him back.
"😅👍 (I'll try my best.)" With that, Taph walked away.
Now it was just Chance and Builderman in the room, the two of them leaned up against the wall. Once Taph had left, Chance was quick to start a conversation,
"So, you feelin' any better after all that?"
It had been some time since the round had ended, but Chance still felt the need to check up on him. Just in case.
"Can't say I am. Jason chased me to the ends of the earth, I felt like my lungs were gonna collapse." Builderman shook his head as he recalled the round.
All Builderman did was build a sentry, but that exact sentry is the reason Elliot managed to get away. After that, Jason had chased him and only him.
"You really pissed him off, but thanks to you, we all survived!" Chance wrapped his arms around Builderman, his same smug grin plastered on his face.
"We wouldn't have been able to, if it wasn't for you and the others." Builderman stated plainly.
Builderman simply ran, ran, and ran. That's all he could do really.
"C'mon, give yourself more credit pal! I saw you juking his swings. If I were the one in your shoes, I doubt I'd have been able to do that." Chance reassured him.
And his words weren't wrong either, Builderman knew that much.
"That's because of all that weakness ya' give yerself." Builderman joked, he knew Chance didn't need the reminder.
"You win some, you lose some! Except back then, I would only win." Chance bragged, although Builderman never seemed to believe him.
"Oh, I'm sure ya' did..." Builderman's tone was laced with sarcasm.
"I'm serious! You should've seen me playin' russian roulette; I'm undefeated."
Memories of his countless victories against Itrapped replay in his mind. How he missed it.
Not Itrappped, just the victories.
"Damn gambler... What don't you gamble?" Builderman already knew the answer, the question was merely rhetorical.
Chance took Builderman's words as an opportunity however,
"I wouldn't gamble away my love for you." Chance moved his arm to Builderman's waist and pulled him closer, looking deep into his eyes.
Builderman turned and looked back at him,
"Chance..."
There was a split silence between them, until Builderman opened his mouth.
"That don't even make sense!" Builderman shouted at him with annoyance, refusing to look at him. He couldnt help but think, did Chance go and gamble away his intelligence too?
"And get yer' hands off me!" Builderman began trying to push Chance away.
"Wait wait wait! Just give me one more chance!" Chance joked, grinning widely.
Builderman slowly turned back to him, staring blankly.
It wasn't long until he began pushing Chance away with more force.
"Get—"
"—Off." Builderman was done with Chance's games.
"Okay okay, fine..." Chance let go of him and put his hands up, but it wasnt long before he'd start again. Just with a different approach.
Chance wrapped both his arms around Builderman and pulled him toward himself.
"Can you at least say it was little funny?" Chance rested his head against Builderman's shoulder.
"Absolutely not, yer' jokes are awful." Builderman bluntly stated, still refusing to look at him.
"C'mon, please?" Chance used a low tone as he pleaded, purposely moving closer to his ear in the process. He felt as Builderman tensed up in response.
"Chance, what do ya' think you're doin'?" Although Builderman didn't turn, he was glaring toward him.
"Hm, what's wrong?" Chance feigned ignorance, but it was obvious to anyone to what was he was doing.
"Don't act stupid with me." Builderman knew Chance was trying to rile him up, and he hated that it was proving effective.
Chance kept the same smug grin on his face, Builderman felt like he was taunting him.
"You're right, I'm sorry. It's just, I remember you telling me—" Chance moved his head away and placed his hand on Builderman's cheek, making him turn toward him.
"—that you liked it, is all." Builderman was now face to face with Chance, and at very close proximity at that. Builderman felt the heat rise to his face, but before he could react...
Footsteps.
"Hey guys! Are you two sure you don't... want any?" Elliot came in with a question, but now had even more.
It was only for a split second that Elliot saw what was happening, but the two of them now, they were far apart from each other. A part of him wanted to think he was just seeing things.
However, both of them were red-faced. Elliot knew what he saw, but he wasn't sure how to react. Instead, he just smiled awkwardly.
"Um... Did I intur–"
Chance laughed loudly, cutting Elliot off,
"Woah, now that you mention it Elliot, I really could eat somethin' about now! Thanks for reminding me!" Chance spouted before he hastily left the room.
Now it was just Elliot and Builderman in the room.
Elliot had no idea how Builderman would respond to the situation, and his dead silence didn't help with figuring it out. As Builderman walked toward Elliot, he braced himself for the worst. However, Builderman simply nodded and smiled sheepishly as he passed by him.
Not a word came from him.
Elliot sighed with relief. Although they've been here for a long time, he never knew what to expect from Builderman, the guy rarely said a thing. Elliot still found him a bit intimidating because of it. Although, after what he saw today, perhaps he isn't as unapproachable as he appeared.
As for Chance...
Elliot will take great pleasure in reminding him of this.
