Why Baking Is Like Making Explosives!

Summary:

Boil directs and Waxer edits as they make videos on civilian skills after the war.

And today, Hardcase is explaining why baking is like explosives…

Notes:

This idea was kicking around in my head for over a year and finally got written up for the Waxer*Boil Month Week 4 prompt: Deployed with the 501rst and for the Waxer*Boil Server writing prompt gestures.

Hope you enjoy!

Work Text:

Boil points at Waxer. Who begins the countdown.

“3 …..2…..1……Go!”

“And this is one of the reasons baking is like explosives. You want to be very precise in your measurements, with the result you get to eat your projects, instead of just blowing them up. And unlike explosives even if it doesn’t work it’s usually edible.”

“Now I learned how to make these from some very dangerous ladies on Naboo. Sabe told me if I knew how to mix explosives without blowing myself up I would be a natural baker.

Hardcase beams at the camera the lights catching on his blue tattoos and dimples as he pulls his Nabooian Five Blossom Rolls from the oven. They smell wonderful and Waxer wonders if he can get some after they finish this shoot.

Boil is the director for this episode of the post-war life skills series and he’s doing great. They smoothly switch to the second camera in a great shot looking right at the rolls. “Now,” Hardcase continues, "the trick to these is to serve them hot.”
