Work Text:

"Bloody Skeeters, they make my skin crawl… Are you alright, Juni? They didn't hurt 'ya too bad, right?" Eunie sat next to her partner, but their focus was elsewhere. Amidst the musty old room, the furniture mostly moldy and in disrepair, one thing was in good condition, seemingly spared due to its placement. Mounted upon the wall was a metal plank adorned with striking decorations. Eunie followed their gaze, cocking an eyebrow.

Juniper approached the artifact, before pausing. The Agnian could not reach it. Before they could turn around to ask, Eunie had already lifted the small archer up to the board. "…You know me so well," they muttered.
Eunie let out a laugh. "O' course I do. I've been hanging with you for a couple months now, haven't I?"
Juniper hummed in acknowledgment as they fumbled around with the lock that kept the sheet of metal in place. Finally managing to free it from the confines it had been in for ages, Juniper relished in the moment of triumph… by falling atop Eunie as the strange artifact proved far weightier than expected. It rolled to a stop as it hit a wall, piquing Juniper's interest.

Grinning, the Gormotti looked at Eunie with sparkles in their eyes. "Eunie… Eunie… we have to ride it."
Eunie looked a little skeptical. "Are… you sure the two of us would even fit? 'Magine we'd be too heavy." Juniper frowned, but knew that she was probably right. Recovering the pep in their step, the young Agnian grabbed the board as well as Eunie's hand (Scandalous!) and hurried to a more open area.

"Heh! Four terms of sliding around ropes comes in handy yet again." Juniper said, with a clear sense of pride in their agility. It was not misplaced, as the instant the archer boarded the wheeled instrument they began using it with the kind of skill earned from years of practice. Yet Juniper skated around like it was part of their own body, earning an exaggerated whistle from Eunie. Juniper rolled their eyes in turn, rolling down a handrail.

"Haha! That's my Juni!" the sniper yelled enthusiastically. Juniper blushed a little, but their gaze was still focused dead ahead, determined to show off some sick moves and not waver. The Gormotti didn't even notice the cracks beginning to form on the floor until it was too late. Eunie shrieked, jumping up in an attempt to help, but was too late. Juniper had… done a flip off the mid-air ramp the rubble had formed. They hit the landing, before dropping to floor out of shock. Eunie rushed to her love's side, clutching them tight.

"I… I'm fine now, Eunie… thank you for your concern."
Eunie pouted, "Don't you go dying on me, Juni! You're too much of a looker to kick the bucket, you hear?" This got a laugh out of the Agnian, who assured Eunie that they would not be dying anytime soon.
"Perhaps we can go ride somewhere a bit more stable next time, hm?" Juniper quipped.
"Heheh, 'we'? I'd tag along with you anywhere, but I think'll leave the tricks to you."
