Summary:

Kagome thought her marriage ot her high school sweetheart was perfect... Until he asked her for an Open Marriage.

Notes:

Okay so this was inspired by the 18 million random AI Reddit stories that have suddenly popped out of nowhere on all my socials lol. Wasn't intending for it to be this long but it is. And there's smut. (Obviously cause this is something I wrote lol)

Work Text:

Kagome never thought she’d be in this position. She though her marriage with Inuyasha was solid, not perfect, but solid. Apparently, she had been wrong.

“…What?” She asked numbly, blinking her wide blue-grey eyes up at him, hoping he would laugh and say it was a joke, a sick joke, but that was just a wish.

He didn’t.

Kagome watched as Inuyasha ran a hand over his face, as if trying to calm himself, to stay patient, as he said, more calmly, but still forcefully;

“I think we should open our marriage.”

She continued to blink up at him, unable to process what he was asking of her, what he was proposing. They had been married for only two years, and they had only been engaged for a year before that. And he wanted to… what? Have sex with other people?

Inuyasha sighed, seeing the lost expression on her face, and explained;

“I want to see other people, to explore. We got together when we were sixteen. Engaged at 17 and married at 18. We barely got to experience anything else, and I’m curious. And I feel like you should be too.” He said and then added; “I know I’ve been feeling it, and I know you have to. You can’t be completely content in this marriage, can you?”

Kagome’s throat felt dry, and she blinked once again. Her husband was suggesting a fucking open marriage? Was he crazy?

“W-why can’t I?” She asked, stuttering as her mind was spinning. “I love you. I love our life! Why would I want to explore?”

Inuyasha shrugged, running a hand through his silver hair, his ears twitching and Kagome felt the need to reach out and stroke them, like she always did when he was upset, or needed comfort, but she was too frozen to move.

“I don’t know. Maybe you like having a boring and predictable life, but I can’t, Kagome. I can’t. It’s too stifling. I’m going crazy.”

She frowned, the shock finally wearing off.

“Are you cheating on me?” She asked, voice wobbly.

His amber eyes widened.

“No!” He denied quickly. “No. Never. I just… I have needs, and you can’t always fulfill them.”

Kagome gaped at him, tears finally spilling from her eyes.

“Wh-what do you mean? Am I- Am I not good enough for you? Do I not turn you on anymore, Inuyasha? Is that what this is about?” She asked, the words sounding like a plea, but he shook his head.

“That’s not what I’m saying. You know that I still love you, but-”

“How can you still love me if you’re telling me you want an open marriage? How is that even possible, Inuyasha?”

Her husband sighed.

“Kagome, please, don’t make this harder than it already is. I think it’s something we could both benefit from, and we’d stay together, okay? This wouldn’t change how we feel about each other. We’d just… get to try some things with others.”

The young woman was still crying, the tears rolling down her cheeks. She felt betrayed. Hurt. Confused. Angry. How could he want to see other people, to be intimate with others when they were supposed to be monogamous? When they were married?

“I- I thought we were happy together, Inuyasha. I don’t want anyone but you. And- and how could you possibly expect me to want to- to- to share you with anyone? How?” She asked, sobbing, and he reached out for her, but she flinched away from his touch.

“Kagome, this- it has nothing to do with our love for each other.” He said, his voice soft, but Kagome shook her head.

“It has everything to do with our love for each other, Inuyasha. We- we can work on whatever is wrong, okay? But I can’t be with someone who doesn’t want to be faithful, or loyal, or- or devoted. I can’t.” She said, wiping her eyes. “You either want me or you don’t.”

He took a step closer to her, his ears folding against his head and Kagome knew that was the only sign that showed he was upset, besides his clenched jaw.

“Of course I want you. I just want more than this.”

“But why can’t you be satisfied with this, with me? Is- Is it because I put on a little weight? I’ll try to be better about it but with the office job and all the sitting-”

“No! This isn’t about the weight you’ve put on, I don’t mind it. I think you’re beautiful no matter what. I just- I have a lot of energy, okay? You know how I am, and I’m sure you get frustrated, too.”

She sniffled, trying to get herself under control, trying to understand where her husband was coming from, but she was just so hurt.

“Yeah, but I never asked for an open marriage. What if you fall in love with someone else? What happens then?” She asked, her voice cracking.

Inuyasha shook his head.

“I’ll always love you, Kagome. No matter what.”

“You’ll still want to be with others, though.” She whispered.

“It would just be dates and sex. It wouldn’t mean anything. You’d be my wife, and- and they would be-”

“Your girlfriends? Fuck buddies? One-night stands? I don’t- I don’t get it, Inuyasha.”

“It wouldn’t be serious.” He insisted. “Look, I don’t expect you to agree right now. Think about it and then give me your answer.”

She didn’t say anything and Inuyasha sighed, pulling her into his arms. Kagome let him, but she didn’t hug him back, and she could feel him tense, knowing she wasn’t reacting the way he had wanted her to, but she was too shocked, and she couldn’t believe what her husband was asking her.

“I love you, Kagome.” He said into her hair, and she could only nod, not able to say it back.

Not able to trust her own voice.

••✦••

The next morning, Kagome woke up to her alarm, but didn’t feel the usual urge to turn it off and go back to sleep. She slowly sat up in bed, staring at the empty space next to her.

Inuyasha wasn’t there.

He was most likely at work, but part of her couldn’t help but wonder if he had spent the night somewhere else. With someone else.

Kagome had thought about his proposal for the rest of the night, her heart breaking a little more every time the words crossed her mind. She was still having a hard time wrapping her head around the idea. How could he expect her to be okay with sharing him, even if it was only for sex? Did he really believe that she would want to do that, to be involved in a relationship that was so different from the one they had now?

She had fallen asleep crying, and her heart felt heavy in her chest. She felt betrayed, hurt, and she felt stupid, because apparently, she hadn’t been enough for him, and how had she not noticed that he was feeling like this? She should have known, and it was her fault, wasn’t it? If she had taken care of his needs, made sure he was happy, none of this would be happening.

He would still want her.

Right?

Kagome slowly got ready for work, moving as if she was in a daze. She couldn’t stop thinking about her husband, about what he had asked her.

Was he already seeing someone? Had he ever? Was he going to?

The questions kept circling around in her head and Kagome couldn’t concentrate. She was glad her job was an easy one, because it didn’t require much mental effort.

She was a secretary for a large construction company, and while it wasn’t her dream job, she was content with it. It paid well and the people she worked with were nice. She didn’t need to think much.

And right now, her brain was fried, her heart shattered, and Kagome was feeling like a walking zombie.

Ginta and Hakkaku, the two main foremen seemed to notice and exchanged worried glances, but Kagome only waved her hand, dismissing them, not wanting them to worry about her.

Kagome couldn’t tell them what was wrong. Not yet.

Not until she figured out how she felt, and what she wanted to do. Because she had an answer, but she didn’t know if it was the right one.

She knew that she loved Inuyasha, but could she accept his proposal? Could she live with the fact that he was sleeping with other people, when the whole idea was making her physically sick?

It was going to take her a while to come up with a decision, but she couldn’t wait long. She didn’t know if she had that long. What if Inuyasha was already seeing someone, and had been for a while?

The thought made her stomach churn, and she felt tears prickle at her eyes again but she just sniffles and slapped her cheeks lightly to focus.

She had contracts to print for Mr. ‘Call me Kōga’ Kobayashi, and she needed to get started on them.

Kagome got up from her chair, smoothing her skirt as she walked towards the printer.

She didn’t understand how Inuyasha could do this to her, to them. Why couldn’t he be satisfied with their relationship? He had always been gruff and rough around the edges but he was sweet and loving towards her, and she had been sure that the same could be said about their relationship.

Apparently, she had been wrong.

When Kagome went home that day, her heart sank as she entered the house and saw that the lights were off.

Inuyasha still wasn’t there.

She sighed, turning on the lights as she made her way to their kitchen, setting her purse down and taking out the ingredients she would need for dinner.

As she started cooking, her thoughts drifted back to the proposal her husband had given her the night before.

Could she live like that?

Could she let him see other women, and then come back to her, to their marriage, without being disgusted, without feeling like she wasn’t good enough for him?

Kagome had never imagined herself in a marriage like this, but now that the idea was there, would she be able to reject it?

She wasn’t strong enough to divorce him. The very idea broke her heart, and made her chest tighten in fear.

They were supposed to spend the rest of their lives together. They had promised each other that, and Kagome wanted to keep that promise, even if it meant sharing him with someone else.

It didn’t have to mean anything.

Just sex.

Nothing more.

Her chest tightened and her hands shook, but she continued cooking. She would not cry.

Not now.

She had cried enough the night before, and the last thing she needed was for her husband to come home and see her sobbing over oden.

Her heart broke a little more, but she ignored it.

Inuyasha loved her. He did. She knew he did.

But apparently, he wanted more than her.

Kagome finished cooking, putting everything into a container, and then another one, so Inuyasha could have the food tomorrow for lunch, too.

She didn’t know when he was going to be back, but she decided to wait for him. She was his wife, and they were going to talk about this, no matter how hard it was for her.

••✦••

It was nearly one o’clock in the morning when the front door finally opened. Kagome had fallen asleep on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, and she blinked her eyes open, slowly.

She was disoriented at first, but once she spotted her husband, taking off his shoes by the front door, Kagome felt herself relax.

Inuyasha was finally home.

She sat up on the couch, rubbing her eyes and he turned around, his ears twitching, as if he had heard her moving.

“Kagome? Are you okay?” He asked, concern clear in his voice, and Kagome smiled, despite her exhaustion and heartbreak.

“I’m fine. Just sleepy.”

Inuyasha nodded and walked towards the living room, taking off his suit jacket and hanging it on the back of the armchair.

He then sat down, a foot away from her, and ran a hand through his silver hair.

Kagome watched him, biting her lower lip nervously.

She couldn’t avoid the subject so she just bit the bullet.

“I agree…” She whispered softly, and his amber eyes widened, his ears tilting forwards in excitement.

Kagome couldn’t bear to look at him, not wanting to see his face.

He was happy. He was actually happy.

The thought hurt more than she could have expected.

“Really?” He asked, sounding eager, and Kagome nodded, feeling the tears pool in her eyes.

“Yes. I- I think it could be… interesting.” She said, cringing a bit at the lie. “B-but I have conditions.”

“What are they?” He asked, and his voice sounded closer.

Kagome looked up and realized that he was sitting beside her now, and his expression was eager, and hopeful.

“One: I want you to always use protection. C-condoms if they’re not on birth control or can’t confirm their status. And two: I don’t want to know who they are b-but I need to know when you’ll be meeting them, and how long it will take.” She said.

She had thought a lot about this, and those were the things that had mattered the most to her. She didn’t want him to be irresponsible, and she didn’t want him to get anyone pregnant.

Kagome waited patiently for Inuyasha to reply. He didn’t say anything, and it was starting to make her nervous, when she felt him grab her face, gently, and bring her closer, pressing his lips against hers.

Kagome melted into the kiss and tried to ignore the way her heart clenched.

“Thank you.” He murmured against her lips, and Kagome swallowed the lump in her throat, forcing herself to smile.

“Anything for you, Inuyasha.”

His eyes darkened, and he leaned down again, capturing her lips, kissing her deeply.

“You’re the best wife I could have asked for.” He murmured against her lips and she smiled weakly, wrapping her arms around his neck, letting him kiss her and touch her.

Letting him love her, despite the ache in her chest.

Kagome didn’t sleep that night.

••✦••

Two months.

It had been two months since her conversation with Inuyasha. Two months since they had started their open marriage.

Kagome hadn’t noticed a change.

At first, Inuyasha had seemed a lot more relaxed, a lot happier, but he was the same man she had fallen in love with.

He still kissed her, still told her that he loved her. He still came home to her, and slept with her, in their bed.

But he also spent nights away. There were hotel and dinner charges on their joint credit card, and the receipts always had a name and a number, sometimes a room, but the numbers were never the same, and Inuyasha would always leave her a note on the fridge, telling her where he was, and when he would be back.

Kagome was glad that he was respectful, and that he was trying not to hurt her, but she was surprised at the fact that the notes and the charges were the only indication that he was seeing other women.

But it was also different.

He barely initiated sex and when she did, very hesitantly and shyly because he was always the dominant one, it was rushed and hurried.

He didn’t take his time with her. He didn’t linger.

And she missed it.

She missed him.

But Kagome tried not to think about it. Inuyasha was still her husband, and they were still very much in love but it was taking a toll on her.

Sango commented on how pale she was lately and how she’d lost a few pounds, and Kagome shrugged, trying to play it off, but it was the truth.

She wasn’t able to eat a lot, lately, and she spent most of her time worrying and stressing.

Would he be coming home tonight? Would he call her, like he promised, or would he be busy with another woman, forgetting that his wife was waiting for him at home?

Her work wasn’t being affected per se but Mr. Kobayashi was paying for a lot more ‘company lunches’ and told her she could take all the breaks she needed and the entire crew made sure she never ate alone.

It was sweet and she knew they were worried, but it was still making her feel worse.

They were worried, and Kagome hated it. She didn’t want her friends and co-workers to worry about her, when the root of the problem was her own husband, and their failing marriage.

The fact that everyone was being nice to her was just making her feel even worse, and she felt like a bad person for even thinking that. It’s not like they knew what was going on, and they were all just trying to be nice.

It wasn’t their fault.

It was hers.

And she had to deal with the consequences.

“Are you okay?” Inuyasha asked her one night as they were getting ready for bed.

Kagome nodded, smiling weakly at him.

“Yeah. I’m fine. Why?”

Inuyasha walked over to her and grabbed her chin, tilting her face up.

“You look sad.” He commented, his golden eyes serious and Kagome swallowed, the words lodging themselves in her throat.

She was sad. She was devastated, and she couldn’t tell him.

“I’m not.” She said instead, her voice cracking a little and his ears tilted backwards, as if he didn’t believe her, but didn’t say anything.

Instead, he brought her into his arms and kissed her temple.

“You know you can talk to me, right? About anything.”

“I know.” She whispered, nodding, her eyes welling up with tears.

Kagome didn’t say anything, though, and neither did he.

The next day, the day that marked the fourth month since the beginning of their open marriage, Kagome got home from work early to find a tall, slender woman with long black hair and brown eyes leaving her house.

Kagome froze, blinking, not knowing what to say or do, and the woman smiled brightly at her, as if nothing was wrong.

“You must be Kagome!” She said cheerfully. “I’m Kikyo, a friend of Inuyasha’s.”

“Oh, u-uh, hi.” Kagome replied, smiling hesitantly. “Inu- Inuyasha didn’t mention that you were visiting.”

“I didn’t tell him I was coming, he didn’t mind though.”

Kagome didn’t say anything, just nodded, and forced a smile.

“I should go. It was nice meeting you, Kagome.”

“Y-yeah. You, too.”

Kagome watched her walk away, and didn’t move until she saw the car drive away. Then, she slowly made her way inside the house, she could hear Inuyasha in the shower, and she dropped her purse on the kitchen counter.

She didn’t feel like crying, or screaming, or yelling, and the emptiness she felt inside was worse than any emotion she had experienced.

The woman was beautiful and had been confident. And she had been inside her house. Inuyasha had invited her into their house. Their home.

She waited for Inuyasha to pad into the kitchen, wearing only sweatpants, his silver hair dripping onto the floor.

“Kagome, what-”

“Don’t.” She cut him off, shaking her head. “Just… don’t.”

“Kagome-”

“Please, I- I don’t want to talk about it.” She said numbly. “I’m… gonna go have a girls night with Sango.”

He watched her carefully, and she knew he could sense her despair, her pain.

“Okay.” He said softly.

“Okay.”

••✦••

Kagome barely registered the 20-minute drive to the apartment her best friend shared with her long term boyfriend Miroku. Her thoughts were a mess and her emotions were running rampant.

She wasn’t feeling anything and everything at the same time and her whole world was spinning out of control.

She needed to talk to someone, and the only person who could make her feel better was Sango.

“Kagome?”

She looked up and realized that she was in front of her best friend’s door, hand still raised from her.

One look into concerned mulberry-colored eyes finally had her bursting into tears.

“Hey! What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Where’s Inuyasha? What happened?” Sango asked, wrapping her arms around her.

Kagome didn’t say anything, she just cried, letting out all the pain, all the frustration, all the heartache she had been feeling.

Sango didn’t push, didn’t ask more questions, she just hugged her and brought her inside, rubbing her back gently as she sat them on her couch and waved Miroku into the kitchen to start making some drinks.

Kagome couldn’t talk, her voice was clogged in her throat, her sobs preventing her from getting the words out.

But once she calmed down enough, the words just started spilling out.

She told Sango and Miroku everything. Told them about the open marriage, how she felt about it, seeing Kikyo today.

By the time she was done talking, both her friends were fuming.

“What the actual fuck is he thinking?!” Sango nearly yelled and Miroku shook his head, running a hand through his hair.

“You should have come to us sooner, Kagome.” He said softly. “We could’ve been there for you more.”

“How could I, though? I was ashamed.” She sniffled. “My husband wanted an open marriage and I was too scared of losing him to say no.”

“Kagome, none of this is your fault, okay?” Sango said, holding her friend’s hand. “You’re not the one who decided to see other people.”

“I- I agreed to it, though.” She said miserably and that just brought her anger right back.

“You know what! He wants an open marriage then fine!” She hissed, sounding remarkably like her demon Neko Kilala. “Give me your phone!”

Kagome was so startled by her sudden change of tone, that she handed the phone to her friend without question.

“Wha- what are you doing?”

Sango didn’t say anything, just furiously searched for a downloaded an app called ‘Shikon: Where all your Wishes come true’.

“H-hey, you can’t be serious, right? Sango?”

“I’m dead serious. Here, put in your details, and your profile picture, and then, you can have sex with anyone you want too! See how he likes it!”

Kagome shook her head, refusing to do it, but her friends weren’t letting her off the hook.

“Kagome, come on, if Inuyasha can have fun, why can’t you?” Sango asked. “And you need this. You need to feel good, and let go, and relax, okay? So, please, don’t fight me on this. You’re a gorgeous woman, and any man would be lucky to have a night with you.”

She shook her head, not believing it, but Miroku spoke up, his voice soft;

“She’s right, Kagome. You are a lovely woman, and you need to remember that, and if seeing Inuyasha with others is making you doubt yourself, then maybe it’s time you explore as well. Who knows, it may be what he needs to realize what he has.”

Kagome hesitated.

She had never thought of herself as a particularly attractive woman. She had always been curvy, particularly in her hips and thighs and that mixed with her short height always made her feel dumpy. Add in the extra weight she’d gained from not being on her feet all the time for work…

“I’m not beautiful.” She whispered.

“Yes, you are.” Both her friends replied immediately.

“And not just because I’m biased and say so. You’re beautiful, and Inuyasha is a fool if he can’t see that.” Sango said, and Miroku nodded, handing her a glass of wine.

“Come on, Kagome. It’s a free service, and you have no obligation. Just create a profile and see where it goes.” He encouraged her, and she sighed, taking a big gulp of her wine.

“Okay, fine. I’ll try.”

Miroku cheered and Sango high-fived her, and Kagome couldn’t help but laugh at their antics.

This was why they were her best friends.

They always knew what to say.

She finished her drink and set the empty glass on the coffee table, and started filling in the information required before handing her phone over to Sango for the pictures. She was sure she’d pick better ones than her.

“You look really cute here!” Sango said, showing her a picture.

“But I have my tongue sticking out.”

“Exactly, and your boobs look amazing.”

Kagome blushed, looking down at the screen, and nodded.

“That’s a good picture.”

“And this one, too.”

The picture Sango chose was taken during their summer vacation. The one where she’d convinced her to wear a cerulean colored bikini that was way more revealing than she was comfortable with.

“O-okay, now what?” She asked nervously.

“Now, you wait. But I don’t think you’ll have to wait for too long. If that doesn’t get you laid, nothing will.”

Kagome didn’t reply.

She wasn’t sure she was ready for any of this, but it was too late. They wouldn’t let her back out now.

“Thanks, guys.” She said after a while, and her two friends smiled.

“No problem.”

“Anytime, Kagome.”

Kagome left her friends’ apartment early the next morning so she could swing by the house and change for work. Inuyasha was already gone, which was a relief, and she was glad, because she wasn’t sure she could face him, not yet.

Once she was at the office, Kagome was able to distract herself from the dating app that was still installed on her phone. She wasn’t going to use it. It was a bad idea.

Right?

Sango didn’t agree.

Sango 🪃: Kagome, Check. The. App.

She texted during her lunch break and she squirmed. A period between each word meant business.

She fidgeted for a few minutes before sucking in a deep breath and opening the app.

She wasn’t expecting anything, and she didn’t think she was going to get a match.

But she did.

“Oh my Kami!”

Her gasp caught her boss’s attention and he walked over to her desk, frowning.

“Are you alright, Kagome?”

“Oh! Uh, yeah, sorry Mr. Kobayashi, I’m fine.” She replied quickly, scrambling to close her phone.

“Alright, well, the contracts you sent me yesterday need a little tweaking and I have a few notes.” He said, and Kagome smiled, grateful for the distraction.

“I’ll be happy to take a look.”

He nodded and handed her the contracts back with several little tabs with small suggestions.

She never noticed him glancing at her phone in confusion, as if he was trying to remember why the app on her screen seemed so familiar.

Kagome instead, focused on her job, and she didn’t even think about the dating app for the rest of the day.

Not until she got home and found the house empty. Again.

She knew it wasn’t the end of the world, and that Inuyasha had probably been summoned to an emergency meeting, or something. He did work at a law firm and those things happened, but still, Kagome couldn’t help but worry.

Maybe he was with her again.

With Kikyo.

Her heart clenched and she bit her lower lip, feeling tears build up in her eyes, and Kagome didn’t try to fight them.

Her phone buzzed with a text from Sango, and she knew what it would say.

Check the app.

She had a feeling Sango had been monitoring the damn thing all day, but she couldn’t find it in her to be annoyed.

So, Kagome opened the app, and sure enough, the near 500 ‘jewels’, meaning someone had liked her profile, and dozens of message requests were still there.

Her heart hammered against her chest and she felt nauseous.

Was she really going to do this?

Could she do this?

Kagome scrolled through the messages but couldn’t bring herself to do anything with them so she just put her phone on silent and went to take a long bubble bath and pamper heel self a bit.

••✦••

Kōga Stared at the Shikon app on his phone. Wondering if Kagome actually had this on hers.

If she did, did that mean she was divorcing that silver mutt she was married to?

When she’d first walked into his dad’s company to interview for the secretary position he’d nearly run into a wall. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and he hadn’t been able to keep his eyes off her.

She was kind and sweet, so very sweet, but didn’t put up with bullshit from anyone and Kōga had been smitten.

Then he met her husband.

With silver hair, golden eyes, and puppy ears on his head, Inuyasha Taisho was pretty much his polar opposite and Kagome was obviously head over heels for the mutt.

So he avoided the office for a few days, claiming he was sick, before he sucked it up and went back to work, pretending like this perfect woman who smelled like honeysuckle, vanilla, and sunshine wasn’t constantly on his mind.

But lately he hadn’t missed the sad look in her eyes, and the way she kept biting her lips and fidgeting.

Something was wrong.

And then he saw the Shikon app for just a second earlier today, when she was checking her phone and he couldn’t stop thinking about it.

So here he was, staring at the app on his phone like it held the answers to the universe, wondering if he should see if she’d pop-up as a new user in the area.

Would that be considered creepy?

Probably.

Was he doing it anyway?

Absolutely.

It took a few minutes for him to find her, but once he did, he had to bite his tongue to stop himself from groaning.

Fuck.

Kagome’s profile pictures were such a perfect mix of cute and sexy.

Her main one was of her sticking her tongue out while winking at the camera. Her breasts were pushed together and up, making her cleavage absolutely sinful even though her shirt was actually pretty modest.

And the other one, where she was wearing a bikini.

A fucking bikini.

Kami.

It was a beautiful blue, and it looked incredible on her, showing off all her curves and her gorgeous skin.

He didn’t know how long he was staring at her profile, and it was only when he felt a drop of blood slide down his chin, did he realize that he’d cut his lip with his fangs.

“Shit.” He swore, wiping his mouth and finally setting his phone aside.

He had to go back to work. He had to stop thinking about his beautiful co-worker, and her husband, and her fucking perfect tits.

He groaned and stood up from his desk.

This was going to be a long fucking day.

••✦••

It had been a week since she’d made her profile and hadn’t really thought much of it since she’d noticed that Mr. Kobayashi was acting… odd.

Not rude, or mean, but awkward and almost uncomfortable around her.

Kagome tried to ignore it, but she couldn’t help but feel self-conscious, wondering if she had done something to make him hate her.

“Mr. Kobayashi, d-did I do something wrong?” She asked tentatively one afternoon when he had asked her to print and sort out the contracts for the next day.

He blinked, shaking his head, a blush staining his cheeks.

“Of course not, Kagome. What made you think that?”

She shrugged, looking at the papers in her hands and fidgeting with the edges.

“You’ve just been really awkward and I wondered if I had said or done something to make you feel that way.”

“What? No, no. It’s nothing like that.”

“Are you sure? I promise, if I’ve done anything to make you uncomfortable, I’m sorry. You can tell me and I’ll fix it, and-”

“I saw your profile!” He blurted out.

Kagome froze, blinking.

What?

“Uh, m-my profile?” She repeated, feeling her face heat up. Had her boss really seen her profile? Her dating profile when he knew she was married?

He nodded, looking embarrassed and scratching the back of his head. Kagome felt like crying.

Oh kami, this was mortifying.

“I- I’m so sorry, sir. It’s now what- I promise- It… I…”

And then she started crying again.

Her life was falling apart and now her boss was seeing her cry and she was a mess and she just wanted the world to swallow her whole.

“Hey, hey, it’s okay. Calm down, Kagome. It’s not a big deal. Really. I promise.” He said quickly, arms flailing a bit like he wasn’t sure what to do with them before he just pulled her into a hug.

Kagome cried into his shoulder, and she felt so embarrassed, but she was just so tired of crying and being alone and not being enough.

She needed to get her shit together.

“I- I’m sorry.” She said, finally pulling away from the embrace, and wiping her face with her hand.

“It’s alright, Kagome. We all have moments.” He said. “You uh… wanna talk about it?”

She bit her lower lip, not knowing how to respond. She hadn’t expected him to ask that.

“I… It’s a lot.”

“We can go get coffee and I’ll listen. If you want.” He offered, and she could only nod, feeling a little lost, but maybe talking to him would help her figure things out.

He wasn’t close to her personally and wasn’t in a relationship as far as she knew so maybe he’d be a good neutral party.

“Thank you, Mr. Kobayashi.” She said, and he chuckled.

“It’s Kōga, and you’re welcome, Kagome.”

He led her towards his office and settled her in one of the comfortable chairs he kept for meetings and clients and then excused himself for a minute.

When he came back, he had a travel mug of coffee, and a can of Pepsi, and Kagome smiled gratefully at him.

“So… what’s wrong, Kagome?”

“Well… um, Inuyasha and I, we uh… we agreed to have an open marriage.” She mumbled staring into her coffee.

“…What?”

“Yeah. I- I don’t know what happened. I was blindsided. And I tried to understand. I did, but… it’s been hard, and now, he’s spending nights out, and he’s not- he’s not the same. I- I can’t satisfy him anymore, and he’s not satisfied with me and-”

“Hey, no, slow down.” He said softly, reaching over and squeezing her hand.

“Inuyasha’s a fool.” He said. “If he’s not satisfied with you, then there’s something wrong with him.”

Kagome’s face was hot and her vision was a bit blurry, but she managed to smile.

“Thanks.”

“It’s the truth.” He said fiercely and she was startled by the fire in his eyes.

“I- I appreciate it.” She replied, smiling shyly.

“Kagome, can I ask you a question?”

“Sure.”

“Why did you agree to this?”

She swallowed, looking down into her cup.

“Because… because I couldn’t lose him. I couldn’t imagine living my life without him, and- and I- I just want him to be happy.” She whispered.

“What about your happiness?”

“My- my happiness?”

“Yeah, have you been happy? Being in an open marriage with him?”

Kagome sighed, fidgeting with her fingers.

“No. Not at all. It’s- it’s been hard. Really hard, but- but I love him, and- and I’m trying.”

Kōga hummed, watching her carefully.

“Have you used the app yet?”

She blushed but shook her head.

“No, I- I didn’t really want to make the profile but Sango, my friend.” She explained at his raised eyebrow. “She convinced me to give it a try.”

“And what are you gonna do about it?”

“I- I don’t know. Part of me wants to, but- but another part doesn’t want to do this without Inuyasha. I- I just don’t know, Kōga. I don’t know what to do.”

“Well, for now, you’re going to have dinner with me.” He said confidently, flashing her a fanged smirk.

“I- huh?”

“Dinner. Tonight. With me. You and me. Food. What do you say?”

Kagome was too startled by his proposal to reply, so Kōga decided to take her silence as a yes and took her hand, helping her up from her seat.

“Perfect. I’ll pick you up at 7, okay?”

She nodded dumbly and he chuckled, bringing her hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles before ushering her back to her own desk.

“See you tonight, Kagome.” He winked.

“Yeah. Sure. Sounds great.”

Kagome sat down in her chair, not quite believing what had just happened, and what she had agreed to.

Dinner with Kōga.

A date.

Her boss was taking her on a date.

What had her life become? She fumbled with her phone and dialed Sango.

“Kagome! What’s-”

“I’m going to dinner with my boss!”

There was a moment of silence, and then Sango was screaming.

“OH MY GOD! What happened? Did you meet him on the app? Is he hot? What are you going to wear?”

Kagome sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“Sango, please calm down. He’s my boss and he saw the damn profile. And I don’t know, it was all so sudden.”

“How the fuck did he see your profile?”

“I don’t know. Apparently he uses the app too.”

“Well, damn. That’s… interesting.”

“Tell me about it. And the worst part is…” She hesitated, glancing around the empty office before whispering; “ He’s really really hot Sango.”

Her best friend laughed, and Kagome couldn’t help but join in.

“Kagome, just have fun. Don’t stress, okay?”

“I’ll try.”

“And you’re gonna have to tell me all the dirty details it tomorrow.”

“Sango!” She squealed.

“What?! Inuyasha opened this marriage to sex so I hope you get your world rocked.”

“Oh Kami, Sango!”

Her friend was laughing again and Kagome couldn’t help but giggle.

“You’re horrible, Sango.”

“Yeah, but you love me.”

“I do. Thanks for everything.”

“No problem, Kagome. Love you.”

“Love you, too.”

Kagome ended the call and sighed leaning back in her chair and glancing at Mr. Kobaya- Kōga’s office door.

He had asked her out on a date.

Kagome couldn’t deny that the wolf demon was incredibly attractive with his long black hair, blue eyes and tan skin. He was very kind, and she felt comfortable around him.

But did she want to sleep with him?

Could she live with herself if she did?

“I’m not cheating. I’m not.” She whispered, more for herself than anyone else, and got back to work. “This is what Inuyasha wanted.”

The rest of the day passed by quickly, and once Kagome was home, she was still not sure if she should go to dinner with Kōga.

What was going to happen, anyway?

Did she want to find out?

Her phone buzzed with a text from him.

Kōga 🐺: Hope you’re getting ready for tonight, Beautiful.

Kagome smiled and texted him back, letting him know that she would be ready by 7, and then walked into the bathroom.

She could do this.

Kagome looked at herself in the mirror. She looked pale, and her eyes were a bit bloodshot.

She could do this.

She needed to do this.

Kagome turned on the shower, and hopped in for an everything shower. She shaved, exfoliated, lotioned and perfumed herself, and then dried her hair and got dressed.

She decided on casual and chose a pretty pale blue dress, and laid out a pair of silver sandals before opening her underwear drawer.

She stared at the contents, biting her lower lip. Would they end up having sex? Would it get that far?

She wasn’t sure, but she decided to wear something nice anyways so she chose a lacey matched set in white with pale blue accents.

Once she was dressed and her hair and makeup was done, she took a deep breath breath and finally opened up her texts with Inuyasha.

Kagome 🏹: Going out for dinner tonight. I’ll be back late.

There. Sent. That was one of their conditions after all. That they would have open communication with each other.

He replied back a few seconds later.

Inuyasha : Alright. Have fun.

Have fun.

That was it.

She was having dinner with another man, most likely to have sex, and her husband was telling her to have fun.

Her heart was clenched and her hands started shaking and Kagome blinked back tears so she wouldn’t ruin her make up.

Inuyasha was fine with her doing this.

With her seeing other men.

He was actually okay with it.

She had expected a jealous, possessive reply, and instead she had gotten a short message telling her to have fun.

She wasn’t sure what was worse.

Kagome swallowed her pain, grabbed her purse, her keys, and left the house.

Kōga had texted her the address of a nice sushi restaurant not too far from the office which meant it was only about 20 minutes from her house, and Kagome was grateful for it.

She didn’t think she could handle a long drive right now.

Kōga was waiting for her outside and he grinned when he spotted her, his eyes trailing her body slowly, appreciatively, and Kagome fought the blush that threatened to stain her cheeks.

“Hi.” She said shyly, and he leaned forward, kissing her cheek.

“You look beautiful.”

“T-thank you.” She murmured. “You look nice too…”

And he did. He was wearing a fitted pair of dark wash jeans with a deep blue Henley that clung to his biceps and showed off his broad shoulders.

“Ready?” He asked, holding his arm out to her.

She nodded, wrapping her arms around his, and let him lead her into the restaurant.

Dinner was good. It was nice, and easy, and they had fun. They talked and laughed, and it was nice.

He ordered mochi ice cream because he knew she liked it, and he fed her bites of his matcha flavored ice cream, making her giggle and blush.

It was nice.

But then he paid the bill and walked her to her car and suddenly she was so incredibly nervous.

“Um, t-thank you. For dinner, I mean.” She stuttered, fiddling with the hem of her skirt, and Kōga smirked, leaning against her car.

“You’re welcome, Kagome. I had a good time.”

“Me too.” He said and she didn’t miss his eyes darting to her lips when she licked them nervously.

“Kagome…”

“Yes?”

He reached out and wrapped a lock of her hair around his finger.

“Can I kiss you?”

Kagome didn’t say anything, she just nodded, and his hand moved from her hair, cupping her cheek, tilting her head up, and he leaned down, pressing his lips to hers.

She hesitantly leaned up on her tip toes to shyly kiss him back, and she could feel him smiling against her lips, and then his arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her flush against him, and he was kissing her, hard and passionately.

Kagome gasped, wrapping her arms around his neck, and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss.

Kissing Inuyasha was nothing like this.

With her husband, their kisses were always passionate, with fangs and tongue.

But Kōga…

Kōga was a force of nature.

He was kissing her with an intensity she had never experienced, and his tongue was dominating her mouth, and she found herself whimpering as she tore away to desperately gasp for air.

Kōga trailed kissed along her jaw, her throat, nipping and biting and sucking on the skin, and Kagome moaned, tangling her hands in his hair.

“Fuck, Kagome, you taste so good.” He groaned and she bit her lip.

“K-Kōga, wait.”

He pulled away, looking into her eyes, his gaze intense and hungry.

“Do you want me to stop?”

“No. No, but-”

“Then what is it?”

She bit her lower lip and glanced around the parking lot.

“Do you wanna continue this somewhere else?”

“Like where?”

“Y-your place?” She squeaked.

His grin was wolfish and he didn’t waste any time, he ushered her to his car with a promise to bring her back for hers tomorrow and drove her to his apartment.

It was nice.

Very modern, and clean.

The moment the front door was closed, Kōga pressed her up against the door and kissed her hungrily, caging her in with his body, and she whimpered.

“Kagome.” He groaned, sliding his hands along her waist to grip her hips. “Fuck, I’ve been wanting to do this since you first came into the office.”

“W-what?” She stuttered, pulling back to look up at him in shock. That had been over a year ago!

He hummed, smirking down at her, his blue eyes dark with desire.

“You were so beautiful, and sexy, and I couldn’t keep my eyes off you. Was moping around for fucking weeks when I found out you were married.”

“I- I didn’t know.”

“You were a taken woman, Kagome. I didn’t want to mess things up between you and your husband.”

“And now?”

“Now, your dumbass of a husband decided to fuck it up himself with an open marriage and fuck, I’m not missing out on this opportunity.” He said, and before Kagome could reply, his lips were on hers again, and he was lifting her up, hooking her legs around his hips, and carrying her to his room.

He sat her down on the bed, and pulled her dress over her head, throwing it behind him, and then stood back, staring at her.

Kagome felt shy under his gaze, and she bit her lip, her hands moving to cover her stomach.

“Don’t.” He said, his voice deeper than before, and she froze, glancing up at him through her lashes.

“What?”

“Don’t cover yourself, baby. You’re gorgeous. Fuck, your tits look incredible.” He growled, pushing her back until she was laying down, with him hovering over her, pressing wet, open-mouthed kisses to her neck.

“So fucking perfect.” He groaned, nuzzling her chest, and Kagome whimpered as he pressed soft kisses to the top of her breasts, his tongue sneaking out to lick the sensitive flesh, making her gasp and arch her back, giving him better access.

He grinned against her skin, nipping at the lace cups, before grabbing the garment and ripping it apart, exposing her to him.

“K-Kōga!” She yelped, and he smirked, sucking a pink nipple into his mouth.

“Sorry, baby. Couldn’t wait. Not with these beautiful breasts right in front of me.” He murmured, his fingers rolling and tugging at her other nipple. He spent the next several minutes lavishing her breasts with attention. Nipping and sucking at the sensitive peaks, leaving bright red marks on the soft skin.

“Fuck, Kagome. You’re so gorgeous.” He groaned, pulling back and standing over her, and she watched him lift his shirt over his head and drop his pants.

“Look at you, laying on my bed, practically naked, just waiting for me to fuck you.”

Kagome felt her face heat up, but she didn’t look away.

She’d know he was well-built but seeing him naked aside from tight black boxer briefs that left very little to the imagination, was making her mouth water.

He was ripped.

There was no other word for it.

His arms were corded with muscle, and his chest was toned and chiseled. He had a six pack and a faint line of hair that led down to the prominent bulge in his underwear.

She felt hot.

“Like what you see?” He asked, and she nodded, biting her lower lip.

“I- I didn’t know you were so built.”

He chuckled, leaning and pressing a soft kiss to her lips.

“Well, now you know.” He murmured, grabbing her hips and pushing her to the center of the bed, before settling on his knees between her legs.

He ran his hands along her sides, his eyes taking in every inch of her exposed body, his touch light and almost reverent.

“Kōga...”

“Shh. Let me look at you, Kagome.”

Her blush travelled down her neck to her chest at his words and she hid her face in her hands, feeling embarrassed and exposed, but not uncomfortable.

Kagome gasped when his mouth trailed down her stomach, pressing soft kisses to her heated skin.

“I don’t have to tell you how sexy you are, Kagome. Anyone who can’t see that is blind.”

She shook her head, opening her mouth to argue but he cut her off, nipping at the extras softness above the lace of her panties and her hands shot down to hide her stomach from his view.

“Kagome, please, baby. Don’t hide yourself. You’re beautiful.” He whispered, moving her hands and kissing the skin that had been covered.

“K-Kōga, I- I’m not- my stomach-”

“Stop.”

She blinked, looking up at him.

“H-huh?”

“Stop doubting yourself. You’re sexy, and gorgeous and perfect, and I can’t wait to taste you, Kagome. Can’t wait to fuck you and make you cum. Make you scream.”

His voice was low and gravely, and Kagome felt a jolt of desire go through her. Inuyasha had never said anything like that to her.

She swallowed thickly, watching him with wide eyes as he lowered himself back down, pressing a kiss to her hip bone.

“Let me eat you out, Kagome.”

“A-are you sure?”

“Of course. Why wouldn’t I be? Look at you, baby. I want to taste you. Want to eat your sweet pussy.” He purred, letting a fang catch on the waistband of her underwear.

“Please, Kagome.”

“Okay.” She whispered and he smirked, his hands slipping underneath her and cupping her ass, lifting her up, and yanking her panties off her.

“Goddamn.” He growled, holding them up to his nose and inhaling deeply. “Fucking hell. You smell delicious.”

“K-Kōga!” She squealed, face burning, and he smirked, running his tongue along the fabric. “Delicious.”

He set her panties aside and grabbed her knees, pushing her legs open, and licking his lips.

“Look at you, baby. You’re fucking soaked.”

Kagome whined, trying to close her legs, but he just shouldered them open again, keeping her exposed to him.

“So pretty. Such a gorgeous pussy.”

She moaned when his tongue ran along her folds, and her hand immediately shooting down to his hair, whining in frustration at the ponytail keeping his hair contained.

He chuckled and tugged it out, letting his long, black hair fall free, and she smiled shyly, tangling her fingers in the silky strands.

Kōga didn’t say anything else. He just buried his face between her thighs and licked a long, slow, broad swipe from her entrance, all the way up to her clit. Kagome cried out, her fingers gripping his hair tighter, and he groaned, the sound vibrating through her, and she couldn’t stop herself from bucking her hips up into his face.

He gripped her hips, holding her down, and Kagome whined, panting as he ate her out. Inuyasha hated going down on her. Had never enjoyed doing it, and they had given up on him doing it after a while.

Kagome had missed it.

“O-oh, K-Kōga. Oh, god. Y-yes. Please, K-Kōga. P-please.”

He smirked against her and sucked her clit into his mouth, flicking the hard bundle of nerves with his tongue, and her back arched off the bed, her eyes wide, and feet pressing into Kōga’s shoulders.

“Cum for me, baby. Let me taste it. Wanna taste your orgasm.”

She was panting, her fingers tangled in his hair, her head thrown back, her chest flushed, and Kōga watched her as he pushed two fingers into her dripping wet cunt.

“Oh fuck. So tight, baby.”

“Ah! K-Kōga!”

“You like that, don’t you, baby? Like the feel of my fingers in your tight little pussy.”

She nodded, biting her lip, and Kōga’s eyes bled red for just a moment, and he curled his fingers inside her, and she was falling.

“Oh Kami! K-Kōga, Yes! Don’t stop! Don’t stop!”

“Not a chance, baby.”

Kagome was moaning, writhing and thrashing against his hold as he brought her closer and closer to the edge, his mouth latched onto her clit, his fingers buried inside her, and when he finally, finally, crooked his fingers, hitting that spot Inuyasha could almost never find while the sharp point of one fang pressed delicately against her swollen clit, Kagome exploded.

She screamed, her body convulsing, and her vision blurring as her orgasm took over. She could hear Kōga’s groan, and she distantly realized that she was squeezing his head between her thighs, but she couldn’t get her muscles to obey.

Finally, once the aftershocks had faded, she went limp and boneless, and Kōga gently eased her legs open, and crawled up her body, dropping kisses as he went, until his face was hovering above hers, and he leaned down, capturing her lips.

She could taste herself on him and she whimpered, feeling another jolt of pleasure course through her.

“Mmm, Kagome.” He hummed, his hand trailing up and down her side. “You were fucking incredible, baby.”

“I- I was?”

“Fuck yeah, you were. You looked so fucking gorgeous when you came.”

Kagome blushed, glancing away from his gaze, and he chuckled, leaning forward to kiss her neck, and she could feel the hot, hard line of his cock pressing into her hip and she sighed a bit through her nose before shuffling up onto her knees, missing the confused expression on his face.

“Kagome? What are you doing?” He asked and she adjusted on her hands and knees to be comfortable. She looked over her shoulder at him.

“Uhm... getting ready?” She said. “You... you do still want to have sex right?”

He stared at her for a moment, before groaning and flopping back onto the bed, rubbing his hands over his face.

“I... Kōga? What’s wrong?” She asked, her voice small and unsure. Had she done something wrong? Was he having second thoughts about this?

“Kagome, baby, you’re perfect.” He said, and his voice was deep, almost a growl. “But if you think that for the potentially only time I’ll be having sex with you, I’m going to fuck you doggy style, then you’re sorely mistaken.”

Kagome blinked.

“I- what?”

“Kagome, if this is the only time we get to be together, I’m not going to eat you out once then rut you like a dog. No.” He sat up, pulling her into his lap and she gasped.

“W-what are you-”

“If this is the only chance I’ll get, then I’m going to make it good for both of us, baby. I’m gonna lay you down on my bed and worship your beautiful body. And I’m going to make sure that when you walk out that door, you won’t be able to walk for a week.” He murmured, running his nose along her collarbone.

“And you’re gonna want me, too. Gonna wanna come back for more.”

Kagome moaned, tilting her head back to give him better access to her throat, and he grinned, nipping the flesh before moving down and nuzzling into her perfect cleavage.

“These are amazing.” He groaned. “So soft and perfect.”

She whimpered, squirming a bit in his lap and he hissed when she brushed up against his dick, which was still rock hard and leaking precum.

“Sorry!”

“Don’t apologize. Feeling you rubbing your dripping pussy against my cock is a dream.” He murmured.

Kagome bit her lip, blushing, but she couldn’t stop herself.

Kōga was so different from Inuyasha. Everything about this experience was completely different.

“Hey, Kagome, you okay? Where’d you go, baby?”

She blinked, realizing that she had completely zoned out, and that he had stopped moving, his hands on her hips, stilling her movement.

“I- sorry. I was just thinking.”

“What about?”

“How different this is from what I’m used to.”

“Different bad or different good?”

“Good. Definitely good. This- you- everything- it’s- it’s really nice.”

Kōga smiled, a soft, sweet smile that was so different from the wolfish grins and cocky smirks she was used to. He buried his hands in her hair an pressed their foreheads together.

“Good.”

They stayed there for a moment, just breathing the same air, and then Kōga was gently laying her down, settling himself between her thighs and latching onto her cunt with gusto.

“K-Kōga!”

“Wanna taste you, baby. Wanna make you cum again.” He said, his voice muffled, and Kagome moaned, tangling her fingers in his hair.

“You don’t have to.”

“No, but I want to. Your pussy tastes so fucking good. Wanna drown in it.”

And he meant it. She lost count of how many times he made her cum, and she was a boneless mess when he finally pulled back, cracking his jaw, and Kagome knew it was probably sore, but she didn’t care.

He was licking his lips and his chin was glistening with her juices and Kagome had never seen anyone so sexy in her life.

“Fuck, Kagome. You’re amazing.”

“Mmm.” She hummed, still floating and unable to form words.

He chuckled, crawling up her body, dropping kisses as he went before he leaned over her a bit to rummage around in his nightstand and pull out a box of condoms.

“Are you sure, baby? You still want this?”

“Mhm.” She hummed. “Please, Kōga. Please.”

“Okay, baby.” He kissed her softly, his hand moving down to her core, and Kagome whimpered, the feeling of his fingers making her sensitive and almost sore, but she didn’t tell him to stop.

He was gentle, and soft, and slowly coaxed her back to that blissful edge and just when she was about to cum again, he pulled away and rolled a condom onto his cock. She wasn’t sure when he’d slipped off his boxeers but her eyes went wide at the sight of his erection.

It was long and thick, and she swallowed, suddenly nervous. Kōga seemed to notice her tension and leaned forward, kissing her softly.

“Hey, it’s okay. We can stop if you want.”

“N-no. No, it’s fine. It’s just- I-” She stuttered. “W-will that fit?”

He blinked, looking down at his cock and then back at her.

“I uh... yeah? Why wouldn’t it?”

“I’ve never had anything that big before.” She whispered, and his eyes widened, and then he was chuckling, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her against him in a soft hug.

“Well, don’t worry, baby. We’ll go slow and make it fit.” He murmured, and Kagome couldn’t help but giggle at the cheesy line.

“Kōga.”

“Yes, my lady?”

“Stop.”

“But, Kagome, we’ve not even started yet. I haven’t even entered you, and I haven’t felt the warmth of your beautiful pussy wrapped around me, and-”

“Oh my god, Kōga!” She laughed, smacking his arm and he snickered, pressing a soft kiss to her lips, and she sighed, melting into the touch, her hands moving to his hair.

He reached down, lining up his cock with her entrance and slowly, gently, slid into her, groaning the entire way.

“F-fuck, Kagome. Baby, you’re so tight. Feels so fucking good.”

She whimpered softly in pain, her body adjusting to the new, much larger intrusion, and when he bottomed out, he held himself still, letting her get used to his size. He gently kissed the small tears gathering in the corners of her eyes and stroked her hair.

“You’re so good, baby. You’re so good.” He murmured and she whimpered again, burying her face in his neck, and gripping his hair tightly.

“K-Kōga...”

“You feel so fucking good. Fuck, baby.” He groaned, and his hand slipped between them, finding her clit, and teasing it gently, making her gasp.

“Does that feel good, baby?”

“Y-yes. Oh, kami, yes.”

He kept working her clit, letting her adjust to his size, until she slowly began moving her hips against his unconsciously, and he knew she was ready.

“I’m gonna move, baby. Tell me if you want to stop.”

She nodded, and he kissed her, starting off with slow, shallow thrusts that had those gorgeous fucking legs trembling and her breath catching.

“O-oh. K-Kōga. O-oh. It- it’s so much.”

“Does it hurt?”

“A- a little, but it- it’s good.”

He groaned, increasing his pace, and Kagome’s mouth fell open, and he watched, mesmerized, as she writhed in pleasure. He’d never seen someone so innocent but so sinful at the same time, and it was driving him wild.

“You’re perfect.” He panted, his hands on her hips, pulling her down on his cock. “Absolutely fucking perfect.”

“Oh, K-Kōga.” She gasped, her breasts bouncing with each thrust, and Kōga could feel his fangs aching and his eyes bleeding red, but he forced the beast down.

He didn’t want to risk hurting her, so instead, he focused on her pleasure, rolling his hips into hers, making sure his pubic bone was pressing against her clit and her eyes widened, her body bowing as her orgasm hit her hard and fast, and Kōga snarled as she rippled and clenched around him, her juices flooding around his cock and making his thrusts even wetter.

“Shit, baby. So wet. You’re soaked.” He growled, and she blushed, her body twitching and shaking as her aftershocks faded. “Fucking perfect. Absolutely perfect.”

He sped up his thrusts, and Kagome whined, her eyes closing as her mouth opened in a silent scream. She was so sensitive, and everything was on fire, and she could feel herself building up towards another orgasm, and she knew that this time, it would be the one that would completely break her.

“K-Kōga~” She mewled, hands scrabbling at his back, and he groaned, nipping at her ear, and slamming his cock into her dripping wet cunt.

“That’s it, baby. Say my name. Say who’s fucking you. Who’s making you feel so good.”

“O-oh! K-Kōga.” She sobbed, and he could see the tears of pleasure falling from her eyes.

“That’s it, baby. Good girl.”

He reached down, grabbing one of her thighs, rising to his knees and hoisting her leg up over his shoulder, the new angle allowing him to get even deeper inside her and Kagome was screaming.

“That’s it, baby. Let me hear you. Scream for me. Be loud, baby.” He grinned, nipping at her thigh, and she keened, her hands scrambling at his arms.

“O-oh. I- I- Oh!”

“That’s it. That’s my good girl. Cum for me, Kagome. Fucking cum all over my cock.”

“Ah! K-KŌGA! KŌGA!” She screamed, eyes wide and back arching as her orgasm ripped through her, and it took everything to keep him from coming.

She was fucking exquisite.

Perfect.

Her pussy was fluttering and pulsing around his cock and he couldn’t stop himself from slamming into her, fangs aching and eyes bleeding red, and the only thing stopping him from transforming and rutting her like an animal, was the thought that she was human, delicate, and could be broken.

So, instead, he gripped her hips, his claws digging into the soft skin, and fucked her as hard as an unmated human could stand.

His thrusts were hard and fast and the only sounds were the slapping of skin, their harsh breaths, and her high-pitched keening and gasping. He leaned forward, sucking a pink nipple into his mouth and flicking it with his tongue.

“O-oh. Yes! Please, Kōga!” She wailed. His control was slipping, he was barely hanging on by a thread.

“K-Kagome.” He grunted. “Cum for me, baby. One more. Cum all over my cock. Just one more time.”

She whined, her nails raking down his arms, and he snarled, slamming his hips into hers, and then, before she could protest, he yanked her upright, pressing her chest to his and his mouth latched onto her throat, sucking a dark hickey right where he wished he could sink his fangs and mark her.

She squealed, her hands fisting his hair as she came, her juices flooding around his cock and covering his thighs and bedspread, and he groaned, his own orgasm washing over him as he held her to him, her name a broken moan as he emptied himself into the condom.

It took them several minutes to come down from their orgasms, and Kagome was slumped against him, her head buried in his neck, breath hot and heavy against his sweaty skin.

Kōga’s arms were wrapped around her, holding her to him, his claws running gently along her back, and his nose pressed into her hair, inhaling her scent and trying to commit it to memory.

Finally, they were able to move, and Kagome whined, her legs twitching and Kōga chuckled, gently picking her up and setting her into a plush chair he kept in the corner of his room while he changed the sheets, tossing the dirtied ones into a pile and resolving to wash them later.

She was curled up asleep in the few minutes he’d taken, and Kōga couldn’t stop himself from picking her up and carrying her to his bed, snuggling up beside her.

“Sleep, baby.” He whispered. “We’ll talk in the morning.”

••✦••

When Kagome woke up, the first thing she realized was that her legs weren’t working. She couldn’t move them. She tried to shift her position and whimpered, her body protesting. The second thing she noticed was a heavy arm wrapped around her middle and a warm body pressed against her back.

She was naked, and sore, and there was a dull ache between her thighs, and the events of the previous night came rushing back and she blushed from the roots of her hair down to her toes.

“Good morning.” A deep voice rumbled from behind her, and she felt soft lips press to her shoulder and Kagome couldn’t stop herself from shivering.

“M-morning.” She whispered, and Kōga shifted, tightening his grip around her and she sighed, relaxing against him.

“How do you feel?”

“Um, s-sore.” She mumbled, daring to turn his head a bit to peek at him. He was grinning, and his eyes were soft in the morning light.

“That’s normal. I went a little hard on you last night.” He said, his tone apologetic, and Kagome blushed, biting her lip.

“A little.”

He chuckled, nuzzling her neck, and she shivered.

“So, uhm, w-what now?” She asked, and his arm tightened around her middle.

“I don’t know. What do you want, Kagome? Do you just want this to be a one-time thing, or-”

“No.” She blurted, cutting him off, before gasping in mortification. “S-sorry, I- I meant, uhm... no, I don’t think this was just a- a one-time thing.”

Kōga hummed, and she could feel him smiling against the back of her neck, pressing a small kiss there before rolling away from her.

She couldn’t stop herself from missing the warmth of his body.

“Good. I’m glad.” He said, sitting up and stretching, and Kagome was transfixed by the flexing muscles of his back and arms. Of course, he noticed and smirked, flashing her a fanged grin, and Kagome blushed, ducking her head.

“You want some painkillers?” He asked and she nodded. He yanked on his boxers from last night disappeared for a moment before returning with a glass of water and a bottle of Tylenol.

“Thanks.” She murmured, taking the items from him and popping two pills in her mouth, before handing them back to him.

“No problem. Want some coffee?”

“Coffee would be amazing.”

“Great. Why don’t you take a shower, and I’ll make breakfast. Sound good?”

“S-sure.”

He left her alone again and Kagome stared at the doorway for a few minutes before getting up and walking, wincing and staggering, to the bathroom.

She could smell bacon frying and the sound of coffee percolating when she stepped into the shower and she relaxed under the spray.

Her body was a mess of dark hickies and light scratches, and Kagome knew she wouldn’t be able to cover them all up.

Inuyasha would see.

What was he going to say?

She didn’t think he’d actually care, but what if he was jealous or upset? What if-

“Hey, Kagome. Breakfast is ready.” Kōga’s voice cut off her spiraling thoughts, and she jumped, yelping and slamming her hand against the wall to stop herself from falling as a sharp pain radiated from her hips and lower back.

“O-okay. I’ll be out in a minute.” She called, and she heard him chuckle.

“Take your time. And don’t slip.”

Kagome finished washing and stepped out of the shower, drying off with one of his fluffy towels, and then hesitantly picked up the blue henley he’d worn yesterday and slipping it over her head, before looking at her reflection.

It was baggy and hung to mid-thigh, but it smelled like him, and the sleeves were so long they covered her fingers and she felt cute, and safe, and warm, and-

“Kagome? Baby, you okay in there?”

“Y-yeah. Sorry. Be right there.”

She walked slowly to the kitchen, the pain in her hips and back not having faded much from the warm shower and the painkillers hadn’t kicked in yet, and found him sitting at the table, a mug of coffee and a plate piled with bacon and eggs and toast in front of him.

“Smells good.” She said softly, sitting down across from him. He smirked, leaning back in his seat.

“Glad you think so.”

“So... what now?” She asked, nibbling her lower lip nervously. Kōga took a sip of his coffee, eyeing her carefully.

“Well, we eat and talk.”

She nodded, taking a sip of her coffee.

“Kagome.”

“Yeah?”

“Do you... are you okay? I know last night was... intense.”

“Yeah. Yeah, it was. But, I- I liked it. I’ve never...”

“Never what?”

“Been with anyone other than Inuyasha.” She admitted, blushing.

“Oh.” He wasn’t going to embarrass her more by letting her know he’d easily figured that out last night. Instead, he just reached out, grabbing her hand and squeezing it gently. “But, you’re okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. Just... sore.”

“I can give you a massage after breakfast.” He offered, and she blinked.

“A-a massage?”

“Mhm. For your hips and lower back.”

“Y-you know how to do that?”

“Of course. It’s not hard. And I’ll go easy on you.” He said, throwing her an exaggerated wink, and she laughed, squeezing his hand.

“Okay.”

They finished breakfast, and Kōga refused to let her help clear the table, telling her to just go sit in the living room.

Kagome curled up in a corner of the couch, her knees pulled up to her chest, and she watched him move around the kitchen, cleaning up and humming to himself.

She wasn’t sure what was happening to her. She thought this would be so much more difficult. She thought she’d be consumed with guilt and thinking of Inuyasha the entire time. But instead, she was happy and comfortable, and she couldn’t keep her eyes off the man in front of her.

When he finished, he turned and walked into the living room, smirking when he caught her staring.

“What are you looking at, Beautiful?” He asked teasingly, and she blushed.

“N-nothing.”

“Right. Well, how do you wanna do this?”

“Um, h-however works?”

He nodded, and grabbed a throw pillow, gesturing for her to lay on her stomach.

Kagome obeyed, her cheeks flushed, and she bit her lip, trying to get her pounding heart to calm down.

He’d seen everything.

There was no reason to be shy.

Kōga didn’t say anything and just started massaging her back and shoulders.

It was nice.

“This is really nice.” She murmured, and he hummed, pressing a kiss to her neck.

“Mmm, glad you think so. I’m not done yet.”

“H-huh?”

He grinned, his hands moving down, pushing his shirt up and Kagome shivered when his warm palms made contact with her bare skin.

“Oh, K-Kōga?”

“You’ll be okay, baby.”

His hands worked their magic, and Kagome was melting. She was a puddle of goo under his hands and when she was limp, boneless and relaxed, he flipped her over, straddling her thighs.

“Hi.” She said, her eyes wide and a little glazed, and he smiled.

“Hey, beautiful.”

He leaned forward, kissing her softly, and she sighed, her hands moving to cup his face.

“Feeling better?” He asked, pressing a kiss to the tip of her nose, and she giggled, nodding.

“Mhm.”

“Good.”

He kissed her again, a little harder, a little deeper, his hands running up and down her sides, and Kagome shivered, her body arching up into his before her ringtone sounded from her purse that was still on the floor in the entryway.

“Shit.”

Kōga moved, helping her sit up and stand, and she shuffled to the door, bending down and rifling through her purse until she found her phone, answering the call without looking at the caller id.

“Hello?”

“Hey.”

“Oh, hey, Inuyasha.” She greeted her husband, and he grunted.

“Are you coming home soon?”

“Uhm... not sure. Why?”

“Just wondering. I got cancelled on and I thought we could have lunch or something.”

Her face lit up. This was the first time in weeks he wanted to spend time with her.

“Really?”

“Yeah. Come home and I’ll take you somewhere nice.”

“Sure. Yeah. Okay. I’ll be home in like 20 minutes.”

“Okay.”

“Bye.”

“See ya.”

Kagome hung up the phone and turned to look at Kōga, who was leaning against the doorframe to the living room, an unreadable expression on his face.

“Inuyasha wants to spend the day together. He’s taking me out for lunch.” She explained happily and he nodded, shoving his hands in his pockets.

“Good. That’s good. You two haven’t been spending a lot of time together lately right?”

She nodded, biting her lip.

“Yeah. I’ll uh, I’ll text you?” She asked hesitantly and his face broke out in a grin.

“Yeah, baby. I’ll talk to you later. Want me to drive you to your car.”

Kagome blushed, smiling but shook her head, and grabbed her dress and underwear from his room, before slipping on her shoes, and giving him a quick hug.

“I’ll take an uber but thank you. For everything.”

“Anytime, baby.”

She left, and Kōga sat down on the couch, his head in his hands.

This wasn’t going to end well.

••✦••

“So, where are we going for lunch?”

Inuyasha shrugged.

“Someplace nice.”

Kagome rolled her eyes.

“That’s not very helpful.”

“Well, I haven’t decided yet. Where do you want to go?” He asked, glancing at her briefly before looking back out the window.

“Oh, uh, I dunno. You’re the one who offered. You decide.”

“Fine. I’ll just pick something. No need to get all pissy about it.”

Kagome sighed.

They’d been bickering since she’d gotten home. He’d frowned the second she rushed in to hug him, and when he saw the state of her neck and chest, he’d growled, his eyes flashing red, and she’d blushed, rushing to change her clothes.

When they finally got in the car and on the road, Inuyasha had been broody and short, and she didn’t understand why. She thought he’d be happy that she was getting more used to this ‘open marriage’ thing but instead, he was mad and snappy and she didn’t know why.

“What’s your problem, anyway? Why are you in such a bad mood?” She asked and he growled, his grip on the steering wheel tightening.

“It’s nothing.”

“Doesn’t sound like nothing.”

“Well, it is. Just shut up.”

“Inuyasha.”

“Fuck, Kagome! Shut the hell up. Can’t you ever just keep your mouth shut? Jesus fucking christ.”

Kagome was shocked. He had never talked to her like that before. Sure, he was brash and sometimes rude, but he had never spoken to her like that.

“S-sorry.” She mumbled, and he sighed, reaching over and grabbing her hand.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. I’m just stressed out.”

“About what?”

“Work and stuff.”

“Oh.”

She didn’t believe him. It wasn’t work. Something else was bothering him, and she wanted to ask, but knew better. He wouldn’t tell her. Not when he was being like this.

The rest of the drive was silent, and Inuyasha ended up taking them to his favorite ramen bar and they ordered, Inuyasha sitting silently, and Kagome tried not to let her thoughts run wild.

She tried her best to stay cheerful and keep the conversation light and airy, and by the time their food came, they were talking about mundane things, like the weather and the latest season of their favorite tv show.

Inuyasha was laughing at a joke she’d made and Kagome couldn’t help but smile. He was handsome when he was happy, and it reminded her of when they’d first started dating.

She remembered the way he’d looked at her and the sweet compliments he’d given her.

“Kagome? Are you listening?” Inuyasha’s voice cut through the fog.

She blinked, blushing, and nodded, trying to ignore the hard edge in his tone.

“Yeah. Sorry, I zoned out for a second.” She laughed. “You know I was actually thinking about-”

“Whoever the fuck it was who gave you that hickey?” He asked snappishly, and her face heated, her hand immediately covering her throat.

“N-no I was thinking about us. When we first started dating. When you were always complimenting me and making me feel pretty.”

“Feh.” He scoffed, turning to stare out the window, and Kagome sighed, taking a bite of her ramen.

“Why are you being so short with me today?”

“I’m not.”

“Yes, you are.”

“Am not.”

“Yes, you-”

“Kagome. Shut. Up.”

“Don’t talk to me like that!” She snapped.

“Then don’t fucking push me. Fuck, Kagome, how stupid can you be?”

“I’m not stupid!”

“Well, then why can’t you just keep your damn mouth shut? Fuck, Kagome. All you have to do is stop fucking talking.”

She felt her face heat up and tears gathered in her eyes.

“Inu-”

“Shut the fuck up, Kagome. Just. Shut. Up.” He hissed, leaning over the table.

“Fine.” She whispered, dropping her gaze to her lap, and he sighed, throwing a few bills on the table as he slid out of the booth and stood.

“Let’s go.”

She stood and followed him out the door, and when they reached the car, he opened her door for her, and Kagome got in silently, her throat burning, and tears threatening to spill.

He slammed her door and got in, starting the engine and peeling out of the parking lot, and Kagome sniffled, curling into the door.

“I’m sorry, okay?” Inuyasha snapped and she jumped. “I just- I’ve got a lot on my mind and- and-”

“And what?” She asked, wiping at her eyes.

“And- fuck, Kagome, just stop pushing me. We were having a good time. Just let it be.”

She nodded, and they went home in silence.

When they arrived, Kagome hurried inside and to their room, slamming the door, and crawling into their bed, curling up into a ball, and trying her hardest not to cry.

A moment later, the door opened, and she heard Inuyasha’s footsteps and felt the bed dip, and he wrapped his arms around her, burying his face in her hair.

“I’m sorry, Kagome.” He mumbled, and she didn’t answer. “I didn’t mean what I said. I’m just stressed.”

“Why can’t you just tell me why you’re so upset?”

“It’s nothing.”

“Inuyasha, please. I can’t do this anymore. I can’t- we can’t- please, talk to me.”

“No.”

“Inuyasha.”

“Kagome, don’t start.”

“Don’t start? You’re the one acting crazy!”

“Fuck, Kagome, stop.” He snarled, pinning her down, and she froze.

He had never done anything like that.

“I- Inuyasha, stop. Let me go.”

“No.”

“Inuyasha.” She tried to squirm out of his grip, and he tightened his hold, his eyes flashing.

“Stop.”

“Inuyasha, please. You’re scaring me.”

His face froze, and his eyes widened, and his grip loosened enough for her to escape and scramble away, wrapping her arms around herself.

“K-Kagome, I- I didn’t mean- shit.” He stood and left, slamming the bedroom door behind him and Kagome was left sitting on the bed, heart racing, and tears streaming down her cheeks.

She didn’t understand. What had happened? What was wrong with Inuyasha? Why wouldn’t he tell her? She was doing what he wanted but it felt like the more she did, the worse he acted, and she didn’t know what to do.

Her phone pinged and she picked it up, not surprised to see a text from Sango practically demanding she come over so she could get all the details about Kōga, and she was thankful her friend didn’t live far.

Kagome slipped on a pair of shorts and a shirt, and a sweater and grabbed her keys and wallet and left, not even bothering to leave a note for Inuyasha.

She drove to Sango’s apartment and knocked on the door, and Sango answered with a wide smile.

“Kagome! Finally. Get in here.”

“Hey, Sango.”

“Come on. I made coffee and snacks. You’ve got a lot of juicy details to spill.”

Kagome sighed but allowed her friend to drag her inside and plopped down onto the couch next to Miroku who looked as eager as Sango.

“So, Kagome, you must tell us everything.” He said, wiggling his eyebrows. “We’ve been waiting.”

“You two are awful.” She muttered, taking a sip of her soda and they both just smirked.

“So, how was it? Tell us. Was he good? How big was he? Was it-”

“Sango.” Kagome cut off her friend, blushing. “Stop! It’s embarrassing.”

“Well, then you can’t keep us in suspense.” Miroku said, winking. “You’ve gotta give us something.”

“I- oh my god, you two are insufferable. Fine. It was... amazing...” She finished on a dreamy sigh, the tension from her fight draining away as she recalled the events of the previous night.

“I wish today had been as good as yesterday though...” She mumbled at the end, hugging one of Sango’s throw pillows to her chest.

“Why? Did something happen?” Sango asked, frowning.

“Y-yeah. Me and Inuyasha had a fight.”

“A fight?”

“Mhm. He was really mean, and he wouldn’t tell me why he was upset and I just- I’m really confused and- He pinned me to the bed! Not in a sexy way either. He was hurting me. He- he wouldn’t let me go. Then I said he was scaring me, he- he-”

“Kagome. Kagome, breath. You’re hyperventilating.” Miroku said, moving to sit next to her, his hand rubbing her back gently. “What happened? What did he do?”

“H-he let me go and left. H-he wouldn’t t-talk to m-me a-and I- I- I was- scared.” She stuttered, and Sango knelt down in front of her, holding her hands.

“Kagome, look at me.” She ordered and Kagome looked up, tears gathering in her eyes.

“Kagome, is this the first time he’s ever hurt you?”

“H-he’s n-never- he’s never- I- I d-don’t- I-”

“Ssh, it’s okay. Calm down. Breathe.”

“W-what do I do, S-Sango?”

“Do you want to call the cops? I have a friend on the force.”

“I- no. No. H-he didn’t do anything. He- he let me go. He stopped. I- I don’t want- please, Sango.” She begged. “I just don’t get it. I-I thought he’d be happy I was embracing what he wanted, b-but instead, he’s being a jerk and snapping at me, and- and- what do I do?”

Sango sighed, hugging her friend.

“Just- keep talking to him, okay? This was his idea and if he can’t handle it then he can’t handle it. He doesn’t get to act like this just because you’re doing what he wanted. He needs to talk to you and tell you what’s wrong. And if he doesn’t, well, then he’s an idiot, and a shitty husband.”

“Sango’s right, Kagome. If Inuyasha is mad and not talking, that’s a failing on his side. Not yours. And if he does something like this again, or worse, then you need to leave. Okay?” Miroku said and she nodded, hugging her friends tightly.

“Thank you.”

“Of course, Kagome. But now, stop crying and tell us more about Kōga.”

Kagome laughed wetly and wiped her eyes.

“Okay.”

They spent the rest of the afternoon, and evening talking and joking around, and Kagome had almost forgotten about the events of the morning. Almost.

Inuyasha didn’t contact her and she didn’t try to reach out, but every time she thought about their argument, her stomach churned with nerves but when she finally went home he acted like nothing had happened.

He ordered takeout from her favorite sushi place and was apologetic and sweet, and when she went to bed that night, her body still sore and achy from the day before, he held her, and stroked her hair, and promised everything would be alright.

••✦••

As the next few months passed Inuyasha started going out less and less with random women while Kagome saw Kōga at least three times a week.

They didn’t have sex every time, and when they did, Kagome usually stayed over at his apartment because she was too sore to move. The mornings after Inuyasha was always extra prickly, and Kagome would often get into a fight with him over something stupid because he was being an ass.

But then the next time they saw each other, he was back to being the man she’d married, and he’d take her out to dinner or to the movies or something, and apologize, and they’d make love and everything would be great.

But, then he’d get a flush of women interested in him and he wouldn’t care that she was seeing Kōga, and it was like her feelings and their marriage were nothing.

Like they didn’t matter.

She spoke with Sango and Miroku about it extensively and even talked about it with Kōga.

Their advice was all the same. Inuyasha started it and it was up to him to deal with the consequences of his actions.

The only issue was, the longer this went on, the worse Inuyasha seemed to get. And Kagome didn’t know how much longer she could last.

••✦••

It reached a boiling point about six months after she started seeing Kōga.

Inuyasha had been strangely calm but she could feel the tension. It was like a rubber band pulled tight and ready to snap.

So when she got home from work (and wasn’t work just interesting now with Kōga as her boss and… lover?) and found Inuyasha sitting at their kitchen island, obviously waiting for her.

“Hey.” She said hesitantly, slipping off her shoes and putting her purse down.

“Hey.”

“Something wrong?”

“No. Just need to talk.”

“O-oh. What about?” She asked, trying to control the tremor in her voice, and she sat down on a barstool across from him. He looked at her for a minute before taking a deep breath.

“I want to close our marriage.”

“What?!”

“I’m closing our marriage. Effective immediately.”

“But- but-”

“Look, Kagome, this isn’t working.”

“Wh-what isn’t working? I don’t understand.”

“This. Us. It’s not- it’s not working. It was a stupid fucking idea and I- I’m done. I thought this was what I wanted, but- fuck, Kagome, I’m not sure what the hell I was thinking.”

She was speechless for a minutes.

“So, because it’s not what you want anymore, I’m just supposed to be fine with that?” She asked, standing and glaring at him.

“I’m not asking you to be fine with anything. It’s done. This is over. I’m closing our marriage and there’s nothing you can do.” He snarled, leaning over the island, and something in her just... snapped.

“This was your idea. You’re the one who thought it was a good idea. So, what, because you’re not getting as much ass as you were in the beginning, this is done?”

“No, that’s not-”

“Well, guess what, Inuyasha. Fuck you. Fuck you and your stupid idea and fuck you for thinking I would just take this. I’m done.”

She watched the color drain from his face, and his mouth opened and closed several times, but no words came out.

“Fuck you.” She said again. “I’m not- this- you- fuck. I’m leaving. Don’t expect me back.”

“Kagome, wait.”

“No.”

“Kagome-”

“No. Fuck you, Inuyasha!” It wasn’t often that she lost her temper but when she did, it was a force to be reckoned with. “I’m not dealing with this bullshit. You wanted an open marriage. You wanted to ‘explore’ other options. You wanted this and I went along with it, and you’re the one who wanted it to end. Not me. I’m sick of this shit. Of having to pretend everything is fine, and dealing with your shit when it’s not. You wanted to explore guilt free? Well guess what; a divorce lets you have that too.”

She spun on her heel and stormed to their room, grabbing her suitcase and tossing clothes in it, ignoring Inuyasha’s protests.

“Kagome. Kagome, please, don’t do this. Kagome, please.” He begged, his tone frantic, and he reached out and grabbed her arm.

“Don’t fucking touch me, Inuyasha.” She hissed, her reiki surged up and sparking along her skin, and he jumped back.

“I’m sorry, Kagome, just, please, don’t do this. I’m sorry. Please. You- you can’t- fuck, Kagome, you can’t leave. You’re my wife. Kagome, please.”

“Fuck. You. Inuyasha.”

He was panicking. Eyes wide and darting around the room, his chest heaving, and his hands were trembling.

“Please. Don’t- please, don’t leave.”

“And why not, Inuyasha? Why can’t I leave? Because it’s not what you want?”

“N-no.”

“Then what?”

“K-Kagome, I- you- fuck.” He said. “You’re my fucking wife, and I love you, and- and I know I’ve been a piece of shit, and that- that I haven’t been treating you like I should, but please, don’t leave.”

Kagome froze, her eyes wide, and she felt her reiki flare again before she could control it.

“Don’t lie to me, Inuyasha.”

“I- I’m not.”

“Yes, you are. If you loved me, we wouldn’t be here. If you loved me, then this never would’ve happened. If you loved me you never would have wanted to sleep with anyone else.”

“But, I- I-”

“I’m done, Inuyasha. This is done. It’s over.” She snapped and shoved past him.

“K-Kagome, please, I’m sorry.”

“You’re not. You’re only sorry because this isn’t going the way you wanted.” She said, pulling her suitcase behind her and walking out the front door, slamming it behind her.

“KAGOME!”

She could hear him yelling her name as she walked down the driveway, and his pounding footsteps, but she didn’t turn around.

She hadn’t wanted to admit it for a long time but she could now. The love she’d had for him had withered and died away the moment he asked for an open marriage, and as she walked, the tears streaming down her face, she could feel a weight lifting off her shoulders.

When she arrived at Sango and Miroku’s house, her hands were shaking, and she could barely get the door open, but when her friends saw her, they knew immediately.

Miroku helped her inside, and Sango brought her some tea and sat with her, waiting patiently.

“It’s over.” She finally whispered.

Sango and Miroku shared a glance, before Miroku spoke.

“What do you mean, Kagome?”

“Inuyasha. O-our marriage. He- he- he’s- it’s- it’s done. Over. I left. He wanted to close it, and I- I just couldn’t take it anymore.”

“Oh, Kagome.” Sango said, moving to sit next to her, and pulling her into a hug. “I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay.”

“No, it’s not. It’s not okay. He had the most amazing woman and treated her like garbage. He- he doesn’t deserve you, Kagome.”

Kagome sniffled, and Sango and Miroku hugged her and let her cry.

Afterwards, Miroku ordered them all food, and she curled up on the couch, and fell asleep, the events of the evening exhausting her.

When she woke up the next morning, the sun was shining and Sango and Miroku were making breakfast. Trying and failing to be quiet, and the smell of food was making her mouth water.

“Oh, good, you’re awake.” Sango said. “How are you feeling?”

“I’m okay.” She mumbled, rubbing her eyes.

“We have some things for you.”

“Like what?”

“Well, first, we contacted Sesshōmaru to see if he knew a good divorce attorney and he does-”

“You asked my brother-in-law for a divorce lawyer?!” Kagome yelped and Sango shrugged.

“It’s not like he particularly like Inuyasha. He likes you more because Kagura likes you and you don’t push every button he has on purpose.”

“True.”

“Anyway, he gave us a few numbers, and I called and set up a meeting with one, and they can get everything started right away. Also, there’s a bunch of missed calls for you.”

She groaned and buried her face in her hands.

“Did he really call that many times?”

“He called a lot. Like, 200 times.”

“Fuck. That’s- he- wow.”

“He’s not the only one though. Kōga called too and texted.” She said, walking over with a steaming plate of food for her. “Apparently Inuyasha broke out the demon sake and showed up drunk at his apartment last night.”

“He did what?”

“Yeah. They got into a fight and Inuyasha got his ass kicked. Then Kōga took him home and dropped him off.”

“Why would he call me?”

“Well, considering he’s been fucking you and is probably in love with you, I’d say that’s a pretty good reason.” Miroku said sagely and Kagome turned bright red.

“He is not in love with me.”

“You keep telling yourself that, Kagome.” Sango teased, ruffling her hair, and Kagome scowled, swatting her hands away. “Kōga’s totally in love with you.”

“Stop.”

“It’s true. I mean, I know I haven’t known him as long as you, but I can tell.”

“He’s not in love with me.” She argued and Sango just shrugged, taking a bite of her food.

“Okay, maybe not, but he’s definitely head over heels in like with you.”

Kagome blushed and rolled her eyes, stuffing a piece of egg in her mouth to avoid the conversation... and the butterflies tickling her ribcage.

“You should call him. See how he’s doing.”

“Fine.”

Kagome scrolled through her messages, ignoring the ones from Inuyasha (who was apparently not only drunk the previous night, but hungover this morning, which, good), and found Kōga’s.

Her heart stuttered a bit when she saw the concern and affection in his messages and she smiled, blushing at the thought of him being worried about her.

He asked if she was alright and told her Inuyasha had shown up drunk and tried to break down his door. He told her he’d gotten into a fight with Inuyasha when he started throwing punches and screaming at him for ‘stealing’ her. He was sorry if that was the reason for their fight, and he hoped they could talk about it when she was ready.

Then, the last text had come in about two hours ago and simply read:

Kōga 🐺: Call me when you can. Just want to know you’re okay.

“I’m gonna go call Kōga.” She told her friends and Sango just grinned.

“Alright. We’ll be here.”

“Thank you, guys. For everything.”

“Of course, Kagome. We’re always here.” Miroku said.

She nodded, and dialed the number, her heart pounding in her chest.

“Hey baby.” Kōga answered on the second ring, and Kagome smiled.

“Hey. Uh, I heard you had an eventful night last night.”

He snorted.

“That’s one way of putting it. Are you okay? Inuyasha was pretty drunk, and he was screaming a lot. Did you two fight?”

“Um, yeah. But, it’s over now. I, uh, I left him.”

“Shit, really?” He sounded shocked and maybe... a little hopeful? “You okay baby?”

“Y-yeah.”

“Where are you now? Are you safe?”

“Yeah. I’m at Sango and Miroku’s.

“Okay, good. You gonna stay with them?”

“Um, maybe. Probably. Yeah. I’m not sure.”

“You could stay with me. I have a spare bedroom, and I’d love the company. Not that- not that it has to be like that. If you’d rather be with your friends, that’s fine too, I just- I want you to know, you’re welcome with me.” He sounded flustered and Kagome smiled.

“I- I think I’d like that...” She murmured softly. “I... love being around you, Kōga. A-and I- I feel safe with you.”

He didn’t say anything for a minute, and then:

“Fuck, baby, that’s good to hear.”

“R-really?”

“Really.” He said, and she could almost see his smirk. “And, um, do you need any help getting your stuff or a lawyer maybe?”

She couldn’t help but giggle.

“You know Sango actually called my brother-in-law for that last night.”

“Damn. Okay, so, not needed.”

“Yeah.”

“Kagome?”

“Yeah?”

“I- I know this is kinda sudden and maybe the wrong time to ask, but- can- can I see you? Please. I wanna- I wanna see you.”

She could feel the heat radiating off her face, and she nodded, before realizing he couldn’t see her.

“Y-yeah. Sure. Of course. W-when?”

“Uh, well, I’m on my way to work now, but how about we go for dinner tonight? My treat.”

“Oh, uh, y-yeah, that sounds great... and um speaking of work...” She hedged bashfully and she heard him chuckle.

“Baby, you can take as much time you need. Paid.”

“Kōga, you can’t-”

“Yes, I can, and I will.”

“Kōga.”

“Kagome. Don’t worry about work. Okay? Everyone fucking loves you and honestly the place’d fall apart with you at this point. So just, don’t worry about it, and focus on yourself and what you need.”

“O-okay.”

“Good. Now, I’m about to pull into the parking lot. Can I see you later?”

“Y-yeah.”

“Good. And, Kagome, I’m here if you need anything. Okay? Anything.”

“Th-thank you, Kōga.”

“Anytime, beautiful. Have a good day.”

“Y-you too.”

She hung up the phone, and stared at the screen, her heart pounding and her face burning.

“So, how was Kōga?” Sango asked, and Kagome looked up, her blush deepening.

“I uh- think I’m going to stay with him...” She mumbled, and Sango squealed.

“Oh, that’s great!”

“I- I think I like him.” She admitted.

“I know.” Sango said, giving her a soft smile. “I’m happy for you.”

“I’m not sure what’s happening, but, he’s just- I- I- it feels right. Being with him.”

“I know.” Sango said, and Kagome sighed, burying her face in her hands.

“Ugh. What’s happening to me?”

“Life.” Miroku said, smirking. “Now, enough of that. Eat your food. You have a long day ahead of you.”

Kagome nodded and stuffed her mouth, trying her hardest to ignore the butterflies swirling in her stomach and the way her heart was pounding.

Two Years Later

“Kagome you look so beautiful!” Sango sighed, carefully adjusting the veil on her head, and Kagome smiled.

“She’s right dear, you’re absolutely radiant.” Kagome’s mother agreed, and Kagome blushed.

“Thank you, Mama. Thanks, Sango.”

“I can’t believe this is actually happening.”

“It’s really happening. And it’s about time too. Inuyasha has been an absolute terror.” Sango said, rolling her eyes.

“I know.” She sighed.

The last year had been... interesting to say the least.

After their initial breakup, Inuyasha had tried his best to win her back, and after several months of fighting and pleading, and eventually, he’d finally backed off. And then, when the divorce had gone through and their house had been sold with the profits split evenly, he’d given her space and let her be.

He would always be a part of her life, he’d been her friend for even longer than he’d been her husband or lover, but after everything, she was grateful for the space.

Kōga had been an absolute saint through the entire ordeal, and even though they were sharing a bed after she moved in, they hadn’t slept together since everything happened, and it had taken her another month to realize why.

Kōga was waiting.

Waiting for her.

To make sure she was ready and comfortable.

It was then she knew that she wanted him forever, and the next time they’d had sex, she’d whispered that she loved him.

He’d said it back, and proposed not a week later, and now, a year and a half after their divorce was finalized, Kagome was marrying Kōga at her family shrine, and she was so, so happy.

“Kagome, are you ready?” Her mother asked, and Kagome nodded, turning and grabbing her bouquet of pink peonies.

“I’m ready.”

Sango went out first, and then her mother, and then Kagome walked down the aisle, a small smile on her face as she caught Kōga’s eyes.

The ceremony was simple, and when they were announced as husband and wife, Kōga dipped her and kissed her, and Kagome could’ve sworn she heard her Ginta or Hakkaku wolf whistle, and then the wedding party moved inside for the reception.

As they greeted their guests and the night went on, Kagome couldn’t help but stare at her husband. He was wearing a fitted navy-blue suit and his hair was tied up and she couldn’t wait to get him out of it.

Kōga must’ve seen something in her gaze because his eyes darkened, and he winked, his tongue peeking out and dragging across his lip, and Kagome flushed, her body heating and she had to look away.

He was too distracting.

“Well, well, if it isn’t the beautiful Mrs. Kobayashi.” A smooth, familiar voice said, and Kagome turned to smile at Sesshōmaru and his wife, Kagura who was holding her newborn daughter, Rin.

“Sesshōmaru! Kagura! I’m so happy you could make it!” She said, embracing them both.

“We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” Kagura said, smiling. “You look beautiful, by the way.”

“Thank you.” She blushed.

“Kōga is a lucky man to have won such a wonderful woman.”

“You’re too kind to your former sister-in-law, Sesshōmaru.” She teased and the man just snorted.

“I’d trade that brat for you in a heartbeat.”

Kagome burst out laughing.

“You’re awful, Sesshōmaru. But thank you. That’s very sweet.”

“Hn.” He hummed, and Kagome smiled, turning to speak to some of her other guests, and she could see her new husband making his rounds as well.

When the dance started, Kagome and Kōga took to the floor, and the rest of the world seemed to fade away as they swayed to the music.

“You look amazing, baby.” He murmured, kissing her neck, and she smiled.

“Thank you, handsome. You don’t look so bad yourself.”

“Thanks.” He grinned. “How’s the day been so far?”

“Amazing. Everything is perfect.”

“Glad to hear it.” He hummed, nipping at her earlobe, and she giggled.

“You’re being naughty, Mr. Kobayashi.”

“Me? Never.” He smirked, and she rolled her eyes.

“Mhmm, sure.”

They finished their dance and sat down at their table, and the rest of the reception passed quickly and before she knew it, the cake was cut, the garter and bouquet tossed, and Kagome was ready to get the hell out of her dress.

“Hey, baby.” Kōga said, slipping his arms around her waist.

“Hey.” She purred.

“Ready to go home?”

“Absolutely.”

“Good.”

They bid their friends and family goodbye and Kōga scooped her up and carried her down the shrine stairs, much to her embarrassment but everyone else’s delight.

They’d reserved a hotel room for the night, and once they arrived, Kōga locked the door and set her down, helping her take off her shoes, and her dress, before shedding his own suit.

“Damn, baby. You’re so fucking gorgeous.” He groaned, taking in the special lingerie she’d bought just for tonight, and she blushed.

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, gorgeous.” He hummed, and stepped forward, wrapping his arms around her and kissing her slowly and deeply, and Kagome melted.

When they broke apart, she could feel the heat radiating off her body and the ache between her thighs, and Kōga’s eyes had a slight glow to them, and he growled, picking her up and setting her on the bed, before crawling over her, his eyes devouring her body.

“I can’t wait to taste every inch of you.” He said, kissing her again, his hands trailing down her body.

“Please, Kōga.”

“Fuck, baby. Say my name like that again.”

“Kōga.” She moaned and he growled, his fingers tugging her underwear aside, and he buried his face between her thighs, his tongue lapping at her folds.

She gasped and arched her back, and Kōga pinned her hips down, and sucked her clit into his mouth, and she cried out, her legs trembling.

“K-Kōga!”

He always knew how to touch her. How to make her see stars. His tongue and fingers were talented and within moments, Kagome was coming, and he didn’t stop. He just continued sucking and licking and pushing her past one orgasm and straight into another.

When he finally pulled away, his mouth and chin were slick and she whined when he wiped his face and promptly licked his fingers clean, her chest heaving.

“You want me, baby?” He murmured into her skin, and she nodded, her hand coming up and pulling him down, their mouths meeting in a searing kiss, and she could taste herself on his tongue.

“I love you, Kōga.” She breathed and he groaned.

“Fuck, I love you too, baby.” He groaned, grinding his cock against her thigh, and she whimpered, her nails scraping down his back.

“Kōga.”

“What do you want, beautiful?” He rasped.

“Y-you. Want you.”

“You got me, baby.”

“K-Kōga, please.” She begged. “In-inside.”

“Fuck.” He groaned, his lips moving down her neck and he sucked and nipped, marking her and claiming her as his. “Fuck, baby, you drive me crazy.”

“I- oh gods- please.”

He pulled her panties off, and spread her thighs, and she moaned, arching her back.

“Gonna fuck you now, baby.” He rumbled. “Fuck you and finally mark you.”

“P-please, K-Kōga.” She sobbed.

“I got you, baby.” He growled, carefully pressing into her. Even after all these years, and how many times they’d done this, he was always gentle, and she felt tears gathering in her eyes, her body arching and bowing, and Kōga groaned, his grip on her hips tightening, and his pace increased.

She’d never get used to how good he made her feel. The way his body fit perfectly with hers.

She was his and he was hers and they’d finally gotten their happily ever after.

When her release came, her vision went white, and she screamed, her entire body seizing, and her inner walls fluttered and clamped down on his cock, and Kōga roared, his hips jerking as he found his own release, and then she reached another plane of bliss as his fangs sank deep into the juncture of her neck and shoulder.

The bond between them surged and bloomed, and Kagome could feel his emotions as if they were her own, and he could feel hers.

“Fuck, baby.” He gasped, his hips jerking again. “I- fuck- I can feel you. Feel what you’re feeling.”

“Me- me too.” She sobbed.

“Oh fuck. Oh- baby- f-fuck.” He groaned, hips stuttering as a loop of pleasure, bliss, love...

His.

It was overwhelming and intoxicating and the bond between them grew brighter and brighter, and Kagome could feel their souls twisting together wrapped in their love and desire, and then her body exploded again, and Kōga howled, biting into her mark again, and Kagome couldn’t even tell whose emotions were whose anymore.

All she could feel was them.

When they finally calmed down, and their breathing slowed, and Kōga rolled them over, still buried inside her, Kagome collapsed on his chest, her entire body trembling, and she could feel the tears dripping down her cheeks.

“You okay, baby?” He asked, brushing her hair back, and she sniffled, nodding.

“Y-yeah.”

“Yeah?”

“Mhm. So, so, good.”

“Good.” He kissed her forehead. “I love you, beautiful.”

“Love you too, Kōga.”

He smiled and she could feel the warmth of his love and affection, and it filled her entire being.

“Kōga?”

“Yeah, baby?”

“You’re my forever.”

He was silent for a minute, and she looked up, her heart pounding.

“Baby.” He breathed, his eyes soft and loving and he held her tighter, his own emotions flooding her, and she had to close her eyes as the intensity overwhelmed her. “You’re mine too, and I’ll spend every day proving that to you.”

She didn’t have words.

All she could do was press a kiss over his heart and let her feelings and the bond between them tell him what she couldn’t put into words.

The rest of the night was spent exploring each other’s bodies, and when the sun rose, they fell asleep, exhausted and satisfied and wrapped in each other.

It had taken them time, and a lot of pain, but now, finally, Kagome was exactly where she was supposed to be.

With the man she was meant to be with, and the love of her life.
