Heyyy
So I’m new to this and all of fan fiction and stuff, (my new way to deal with trauma 6 months after Arcane ended) but I hope you can enjoy this fic.

Btw english is not my first language so feel free to call out any mistakes in the comments.

This chapter is a test one, to see if the story is worth continuing, so if you feel like it’s a bit short, it may be that.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Why ‘Jinx’?

Chapter Text

Jinx isn’t exactly an easy person.

If you asked anyone in Zaun what they thought of her they probably would be too scared to even answer, mainly because she’s Silco’s protégée, and like #1 in Piltover’s most wanted list.

But the truth is that she didn’t care about anything that anybody thought (or at least she pretended not to), well except for a few exceptions, like that bunch of idiots in her head who just look at her disapprovingly and the dumbass of Mylo, who never got tired of reminding her how much of a failure she was, remembering why she was ‘Jinx’ in the first place.

And of course Silco, the man has been keeping up with her for like the past 5, 6 , 7 years of her life? She can’t remember how long, but it’s felt like forever.

Sometimes she even cares about what Sevika thinks, but it depended on the opinion, she couldn’t give the ogre the satisfaction of always being right.

But she cared for someone’s opinion, an opinion that she shouldn’t even care about… Ekko’s opinion.

But, Why? Why think of Ekko now.

Why?

Right now while losing all of her hopes it was all she could bear to think about.

What if she had done things differently?

Maybe Vi wouldn't have left, maybe everyone else would still be alive, everyone would be happy.

If only she weren’t a ‘Jinx’.

———————

Ekko couldn’t understand Jinx, but he knew that she was crazy and that she ruined the firelights’ missions every single time. He couldn’t get why, when or even how, his childhood friend Powder had turned into such a heartless person, Powder, the same little girl who would cry because she accidentally killed a bug, and his ex-best friend.

‘There’s no time to be thinking about this’ he thought as he and his’ firelights followed Vi—who apparently was alive now— and her new little Piltie friend, but Ekko couldn’t understand what the hell were they doing here.

Until he saw her… Jinx.

She was standing with a torch, one that now had no more than a little blue coming out of it.

He had seen the flame earlier… DAMN all of Zaun saw it, of course it was her why hadn’t he thought about that they could’ve catched her.

But right now she looked lost like that teenager he last truly saw 3 years ago, lost, confused, betrayed. That wasn’t a common look on her, on Powder? Sure it was, but Jinx? Seeing HER like this was off putting.

————————

“Powder!” Vi shouted when she saw her.

Her little sister.

Pow-Pow.

Standing in front of her.

She’s alive! Vi couldn’t remember ever being happier.

Until of course something ruined their perfect ‘rendezvous’.

————————

Jinx couldn’t believe her eyes that Vi was alive?!

And then she saw HER.

A dark blue haired woman followed Vi close behind.

And then she heard her say with such an upright British tone, like any piltover citizen would, with such arrogance.

“Your sister is Jinx?”

and then…

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

“Wait, do you hear that?” Jinx asked.

“Hear what?” Vi asked.

And then…

BAM!

All of a sudden green lights covered the platform.

People in hoverboards swinging at them.

“Shitty little bugs” Jinx mumbled under her breath

————————-

Vi couldn’t remember much after that.

Now, she suddenly woke up, she’s blindfolded and apparently Cait was there too.

“Who are these people?” Cait asked.

And Vi… She didn’t have an answer.

Back when she was 15 this gang didn’t exist, almost everything that existed now was as new to her as to Caitlyn and apparently the people of this gang are some kind of bugs.

Then the door flew open.

And suddenly she was taken leaving Caitlyn alone.

-

The blindfold came off.

A guy with an owl mask standing in front of her.

She didn’t get why they would need masks while they were alone so she asked “ Are you shy or just ugly?”

Then he took it off revealing his identity to her.

Vi couldn’t believe her eyes.

She could bet that her face was the funniest reaction ever.

Standing in front of her was “Little man!” She shouted joy spreading across her face.

“Looking good for a dead girl”, he said.

Suddenly Vi wrapped her arms —which were supposed to be tied to a stick— around him, and he couldn’t contain his tears.

All these years he thought she was dead, and now she came back out of nowhere.

-

They went to get Cait to explain the situation to her.

Vi still couldn’t believe that her baby sister had changed so much since she got locked up in ‘Stillwater’ she was sure Powder was still a part of her.

All of a sudden Ekko showed her a blue gem, Vi wasn’t paying attention so he turned to Caitlyn.

He wasn’t exactly fond of the dark blue haired woman, they had had several arguments that same day, but he didn’t mind her presence.

While showing her the gem her eyes sparkled, when she reached to touch it, they got blinded.

A light.

Just light.

It was like the 3 of them were transported to another place.

Suddenly they were in a room which seemed peaceful, heavenly, it had a beautiful mural of Janna, Zaun’s goddess, which was adorned with all kinds of colors, and had some gold touches. The place had furniture, plants and some rooms, and the weirdest thing of it all, in the ceiling there was a sphere which looked weird, but seemed to have a purpose.

Vi turned to look at Ekko in confusion

“Where exactly are we?” asked the pink haired woman.

“I… don’t know” replied the firelights leader while looking around this heavenly place.

And suddenly he noticed some other figures standing nearby.

Children’s figures.

And he could recognize them.

But they couldn’t be!

And then 2 other figures came into view.

One of them he would recognize even if the world was burning down…

“Benzo?” He asked in a broken voice.
