You are all wrong about season seven.

Lacey's transfer to the satellite station was the best decision the writers ever made for her character.
Lacey, at the time of her introduction in season two, is a "lovably" naive but driven EMT with dreams to become a doctor at Argala Station MedCenter; which is not a bad character premise as far as MedDramas go. Unfortunately for her, the entire writers room must have suffered a bout of amnesia in the six month gap between seasons three and four, because the career-driven Lacey of her first two seasons is replaced with a glorified background character for the rest of her appearances in the show— and yes, I will be discussing the half-baked romance between...Read more?

lol wat are u talking about. Lacey's exit from the show was super rushd because her actress's contract with the distributor ran out. they had 2 rewrite her ending super last minute. it's basically not canon :p

Did you read the post? It's an in-text analysis of the character inconsistencies that plagued half the cast for two seasons. Nowhere did the sloppy planning on the showrunner's part factor into it. I'm talking about the sudden divergence from Lacey as we meet her in season two to where she ends in season seven. And before you ask, no, I didn't think the romance was 'bad'— just poorly...Read more?

Your analysis fails to reconcile the so called 'character inconsistencies' of the Lac3y (Lacey, Michaela, and Daniel), because you fail to recognize that their actions in the latter half of the series are driven by different motives; a natural consequence of going through a series of traumatic events together. I'll use the buildup and finale of season five as an example; prior to the reveal that Supervisor Loccia is an evil clone (and subsequent hostage situation) Lacey and Daniel are never shown...Read more?

I know what a traumatic event is, asshole. You clearly don't, seeing as you've confused 'character motive' with 'trauma response'. Michaela's multi-episode therapy arc in season six is a believable rebound from being held hostage in the season five finale; it addresses his issues, but doesn't fundamentally change his character. Lacey, on the other hand, gives up her chance at the supervisor position she's wanted for years on a whim. Don't even bring up the cloning subplot, because it...Read more?

Ignoring EVERYTHING ELSE about this thread; theres no way barcode serial numbers mcgee and ‘PERI’ are two different people. They talk WAYYY too similar. This is definitely one guy on a hauler job who just got feed access again after four months of inter-system transport.

Okay, I can’t tell if this is two equally neurotic Lacey stans, or one guy roleplaying his dissertation defense in a half-dead Medcenter Argala forum.
edit; did NOT realize the MCA fandom was still active, my bad.
edit2; I GET IT. THE SHOW IS POPULAR. PLEASE STOP COMMENTING ON MY POSTS.

I copy/pasted all the replies into a text editor and sorted by username. OP averages at ~4.5k per comment, excluding the post itself, which is 11k. The most frequent commenter, MTHRFCKR, comes in at about 3k. They're only averaging lower than OP because they posted "Get better processors, idiot." twenty seven times in a row.

Don't worry, I've done a frame-by-frame microexpression analysis for you. Both 14:26 and 13:17. have clear shots of Daniel's face while Akemi is speaking. His body language has markers I would describe as 'focused' and 'attentive', but his slight pronunciation of jaw, increased blink frequency, and unwavering eye contact indicate a suspicious or aggressive attitude. There is the running theory that the 'Daniel' in this scene is, in fact, a clone— but this makes no sense in the context of the timeline of his stabbing, coma, and recovery. I posit instead that the underlying issues of his and Akemi's engagement can be seen...Read more?

There is no way that blink frequency is a viable metric for analysis— the average shot is 8.46 seconds long, roughly coinciding with the average human blink rate of one every 6-10 seconds. This doesn't even account for the fact his face is partially or fully obscured for most of the scene— you have thirteen seconds of unobstructed footage. Microexpression analysis— don't fucking flatter yourself. This is statistical cherrypicking at best, in order to justify the wildly out of character...Read more?

I want everyone to know I dusted off the old 'drama archive' account just for this. It's been over a decade. I thought I was done— and yet I find myself in the same godforsaken trenches. Time is a flat circle, and history has made it's way back around once again.

My favorite part of the whole 'lacey thread' debacle is that over the course of the past several days, Barcode and MF's argument has shifted from MCA Lacey's character arc, to the hardware requirements for optimal video analysis, to the long term impact of social deprivation in humans. Make no mistake, they're still beating the shit out of each other in the replies; they're just citing peer reviewed psychology papers instead of grainy dvd-extra screenshots.

The 'Lacey' Thread

Those of you that keep up with the fandom scene for MedCenter serials that ended nearly thirty years ago; you’ve probably already heard about this. For everyone else; strap the fuck in.
As of posting, this thread been going on for a WEEK and hasn’t been locked yet. I think it hit the triple digits in comments three days in, and crashed the MedCenter Argala forum during peak hours twice in two days due to traffic.
The kicker? Ninety percent of the replies to the thread are from two users. Yeah, TWO. 3221654193201314, aka ‘Barcode’ and MTHRFCKR_101671038542051684, aka ‘Motherfucker’ are responsible for 247 of the 265 replies to Barcode’s original post (<-screengrab, because trying to load the actual page with anything less than stellar feed service is a nightmare). But first, some context.
What is MedCenter Argala?
Even if you haven’t watched it, you’ve definitely heard about this serial before. MedCenter Argala (MCA) is THE show that popularized the medical drama format. Not much of the medicine holds up, sadly— but nobody was tuning in for the…Read more?

Some context for those just joining; the reason why people are flipping out about this is not because two basement dwellers got into a longwinded argument online. We get that shit all the time. What's notable about this is that the thread hasn't been locked yet. I'm not a mod on the MCA forums— I'm only in a couple mutual servers with a few of them— so feel free to take what I say here as hearsay.
From my understanding; the thread's still open because the mods can't lock it. Literally. Nobody knows if it's a server side glitch, or deliberate imposter-style sabotage by one of the admin team, but when one of them tries to shut it down, the thread is right back to normal after a page refresh. There's a new channel in the Medisluts server—yeah, don't ask— solely dedicated to mods posting video of trying to take it down and failing every time. It's INSANE, the...Read more?

I assumed it was a publicity stunt since day 1. If you compare the timestamps and wordcounts of barcode & MF's replies, they're often posted within minutes of each other. Here, here, and here MF posts a thousand+ words of response to a comment made by barcode less than ten minutes earlier. I would be very surprised if this is actually more than one person.

lol honestly the whole thread looks like someone fed all 12 seasons of MCA into two identical language learning models, and then told them both that the other one is always wrong.

Franboid84[MOD]> Okay, right off the bat i wanna make it clear I'm not actually one of the MCA forum mods. I normally handle the Moonlight Riders page; the MCA mod team had to bring me in because your friend(?) Barcode auto-blocks everyone who tries to interact with their thread. Including the mods, somehow.
Franboid84[MOD]>I get that this is a long shot, but it's clear to me that you both actually like MCA, and i don't think either of you are doing this maliciously. If you care about the show and the community around it at all, please, please undo whatever it is that's keeping the thread up. I'm pretty sure the bickering is your guys 'thing', so I'm not trying to get on you about that; but you gotta understand the site has seen a massive increase in traffic since the thing went viral. The thing is, 90% of the people coming on aren't here because they care about the show; they're here because they want to watch the circus (no offense).
Franboid84[MOD]>The people who loved the show enough to build a space for it are getting pushed out, and toxic drama-hounds fill the space left behind. Please, ask your friend to close the thread.
MTHRFCKR_101671038542051684> I see. The problem will be dealt with.
