Chapter Text
A familiar dread ran through her veins—the same dread she’d felt when she lost Pietro, Vision, the kids… but this time was different. This time, she wasn’t losing someone she loved. She was the one dying. Maybe she should have felt relief at the idea that she was finally gonna be free— yet all she could think of was how she could’ve done things differently.
A sigh of defeat escaped Wanda’s lips Tommy, Billy… I’m sorry I couldn’t be a better mother. Looking up at the rubble “It doesn’t excuse what I’ve done, but… I wish I could’ve done things differently.”
Closing her eyes she expects pain, expects the rocks to finally put her out of her misery. There was nothing.
Her eyes shoot open in surprise, the rocks were… frozen in time? “What the hell-“ looking down she sees the red wisps of her power, no her curse encasing her. “No! No you can’t rob me of the one good thing I deserve!”
Her complaints were cut off as she felt as if she was falling, her vision going black.

Everything was blurry, the first thing she registered was that it was cold. Not a slight breeze but the familiar skin pricking weather of Sokovia. Odd… she thought as she finally opened her eyes, someone was standing over her, was he saying her name? Why does his voice sound so similar? All these questions were circulating throughout her head.
She barely registered the person hovering over her, too busy scanning her surroundings.
It’s the Warehouse, the place where we fought the Avengers with ultron?… that can’t be right I was just-
“Sestra?” She turned around so fast she thinks she actually developed whiplash. “Pietro?”
No no no this isn’t right- he’s dead. This is some sick fucking joke, this can’t be Westview, this actually looks like Pietro.
She must’ve been quiet too long. Pietro stared at her with that concerned look—the one he reserved for when he worried she hadn’t eaten enough
This was her Pietro
She couldn’t resist. She threw herself into his arms—the only home she’d ever needed, even without a roof overhead. She hugged him so tightly make sure he wouldn’t run away again.
“Wanda? What’s wrong? You were fine a second ago, then—poof —you were on the ground!” He explained frantically, giving her a once over to make sure she was fine physically.
“I…” shit what do I even say? “I must’ve gone overboard with my abilities… lost too much energy”
He didn’t believe her, that much was clear but he didn’t push.
“…okay? We have to hurry, the avengers will be here soon.” He pauses “are you sure you are okay?”
“I’m fine but, I need you to trust me on something. There’s a new plan okay? Forget the old one” Wanda tried to reassure.
I can change things, but it needs to be starting from here. Starting with the first fight, no more brain washing.
Pietro spluttered “W-what?! What are you talking about?? But Ultron said-“
She cut him off “ignore what he said! Just trust me on this okay Piet?” She pleaded, pacing in frustration.
He looked confused “uhm.. okay but what’s the plan and, what happened to your accent? Why do you sound so American?”
Wanda flinched.
Right. The same thing he asked in Westview, god damn Natasha and her lessons on accents.
She slipped back into the familiar accent, the sound almost nostalgic “I was uh just trying something in case we have to blend in” Honestly she was never a great liar, so before he could say anything he grabbed him by the wrist, dragging him to another spot.
“Wait! Wanda what even is the plan!”
That was a good question. She had no idea.
“I’ll explain on the way” what did she get herself into?
