Chapter Text

Emma's House.

Taylor Hebert was devastated.

"Emma, why are you doing this to me?" She whined with tears in her eyes.

"Because i don't need a crybaby as a friend!" Emma said with dark overtones, "Sophia taught me the truth of life. There is only winners and losers..."

Emma raised the rough end of her boot and kicked Taylor in the face.

"And you are the loser!"

Taylor yelped as she used her arms to barely shield her face. This proved to be a wasted endeavor as Sophia Hess - The new girl - elbowed Taylor in the nose, breaking it and causing her glasses to fall off.

Taylor was on the ground then as Sophia looked down on her with a grin. Taylor covered her nose and looked at Sophia in misery, "I don't understa..."

"Oh just shut up already, you lousy turd!" Sophia stated arrogantly before raising her sneakers and stomping on Taylor's glasses, making her howl in protest.

Emma opened the entrance door before Sophia hoisted Hebert by her collar, "And just like a sewer rat, if you know what is good for you... don't you dare show your disgusting face here ever again..."

Shortly after saying this, Sophia flinged Taylor out the door before slamming it in her face.

That day was followed by banshee-like wails and irksome cackling.

Danny Hebert was in the kitchen wearing a pink apron doing his duty as a man of the house.

He raised a butcher knife and began slicing the beef of a fresh bovine when he heard the front door open up.

His pupils peered to the side and saw his daughter with tears in her eyes.

"Taylor, is there something the matter?" He questioned.

Taylor hesitantly shook her head, "Its nothing dad." She lied as she slowly took the steps upstairs to her room.

Danny's eyes never left her even once.

As Taylor was about to close the door, a shadow slipped through much to her shock.

On the seat of her desk sat Danny Hebert who offered a reassuring smile to his daughter.

"Now, Taylor... you know i love you, right?" Danny said in a cheery tone.

Taylor stuttered, "Y-yes..."

"And you know I'll do anything for you, right?"

"Yes..."

"So tell me" Danny said curiously, "What's the matter? Who did this to you? Surely this all can be resolved if we just took a little sit-down and jested about our feelings." He clasped his fingers patiently.

Taylor didn't want to tell her Dad. He already had enough on his plate with his work and Mom. But much to her better judgement, her mouth moved on its own.

"It was..."

Alan Barnes was overlooking some paperwork when he heard the chiming of the doorbell.

"I'll get it." Alan told his wife before he got off the sofa and approached the door.

Unfurling the knob, the door opened up and revealed the head of hiring of the dockworkers.

"Danny?" Alan said, "I'm quite surprised to see you here. Would you like to come in?"

"Oh no." Danny said while still wearing his pink apron with calm and closed eyelids and a senile smile plastered on his face, "This won't take long..."
