Chapter Text
Eons ago, in a distant galaxy lies a planet that was on the verge of being conquered from an evil Warlord whose name was forever forgotten in the history books. The planet was called Quarton, a planet that was filled with its rich and vast resources. This was known as Tenkai Energy.
The residents of the planet, the Corekai, fought against overwhelming odds against this ruthless Tyrant’s power, his corrupted Tenkai energy, along with his own army the Corrupted, threatened the entire balance of the world and those he would seek to conquer afterwards. However, just when things seemed to tip into the Corrupted’s favor, four brave knights appeared, masters of Tenkai Energies and embodied the symbol of Teamwork and Cooperation.
Valorn
Lydendor
Tributon
Bravenwolf.
These Heroes fought back against the Corrupted to a stalemate, however, the Tyrant decided to unleash the uncontrollable power of the Tenkai Dragon. A being that was neither good nor evil. It ravaged the lands until the combined efforts of the knights scattered the dragon’s remains across the planet. Although the dragon and Villius had disappeared, the four knights were never found, disappearing off the face of Quarton.
While these heroes are remembered for their heroic actions, an old evil has emerged and a new brand of Knights must brave the dangers their predecessors had done…
…But no one said they have to save the world with just four this time.
The Year 2041 at the Zwei Wing Concert Stadium…
“Hurry up Mom! There’s already a line for the tickets and I wanna be there early!” A young boy with black and red hair shouted at the woman who was on her phone from afar, sporting a red T-Shirt and blue jeans, his widening grin on his face basically screamed he was overjoyed. The dark red haired woman sent the boy a small smile before checking over her current phone call.
“Are you sure you can’t make it for today’s Concert? He’s been really excited about this for ages since we told him we’re going..”
“I know, and I really hate to leave you two on your own but something came up from work and I can’t leave it unfinished. Guren can still enjoy the concert without me, he still has you in his corner.”
Hitomi casted a worried gaze over to their son that was named Guren, the boy was tapping his foot in expectation as he held their line in place to buy the tickets, it wasn’t like it was the end of world, but who wouldn’t be excited to see a live concert straight in Tokyo about the famous duet singers in Zwei Wing?
“If you’re sure…”
“I’m sure, if he’s still upset then I’ll take him over to the Amusement Park or buy some of the CDs they’ll release after the concert is over, cross my heart.” Hitomi sighed, while it’s certainly true a kid’s mood can improve when taken to a place they love, they tend to forget about what makes them angry. However, Guren was not one of those kids with bad behavior nor angry with his dad. “If they let me off early I can probably catch the second song somewhere in the stands.”
“Okay, but you’ll have to join us on Karaoke night when we buy the CDs for him, I think he likes singing as much as he likes Antiques.” Hitomi giggled at the thought.
“Haha, too true. Well I’ll get out of your hair now, stay safe Hitomi.”
“You too Date, I love you.”
Inside what appears to be a futuristic-like hallway, Date hung up the call and heavily sighed. He really didn’t want to worry his wife and kids but this job took priority…no matter how dangerous it was in his eyes.
“Apologies if we took time away from your family. If anything I had hoped we didn’t need to call you away from them.”
Date’s head snapped to the voice that spoke to him, spotting a middle aged man with a goatee while wearing a red suit, the two approached each other and did a firm handshake. “It’s good to see you again Genjuro, I hope you’ve been watching movies that aren’t just action and explosions?” Genjuro chuckled.
“I’m afraid to say that I haven’t grown out of those habits yet, old friend. Glad to see you doing alright.” The banter from the two aside, they began to walk and talk as they reached the main hub.
“So Tsubasa is doing well? I heard Kanade’s been trying to get her out of that serious shell.” Date recalled Genjuro’s conversation with the two before being called away for the preparations.
Genjuro nodded. “Those two are as inseparable as two peas in a pod. I still have hopes in Kanade breaking that shell completely, allowing Tsubasa to soar freely. Until that time comes, I’ll be there to watch over them as a responsible adult and uncle.” Date could only nod and put on a smile, it reminds him of the old days along with…
His smile faltered when thinking about it. no time to bring up old memories when the present problem requires his attention. This is for mankind’s benefit anyways.
Once they entered the laboratory, one of the scientists gave him a spare lab coat. Once he was properly dressed he took his place next to Genjuro and fellow assistant, Ryoko Sakurai.
“Good to be working with you once again Mr.Nash.” She winked at him.
“Likewise, let’s both do our best for this world’s future.” Date said as both Ryoko and Genjuro nodded before focusing on the task at hand.
“Activate the suppressors on the Nehushtan and keep the phonic gain stable during the duration of the concert!” Genjuro declared.
“Yes Sir!”
The Arrival of Zwei Wings on the main stage sent the entire stage into a frenzy of cheers and applause, everyone began to sing along with the duet. The air was lively and Guren was enjoying every second of it, waving his red glow stick signifying his support.
“This Concert is awesome! Dad said he was showing up later right? Maybe he can show up in time for the second song!” Guren said rather loudly next to his mom who was waving the blue glow stick.
“Your father did say he should be done so anything is possible!”
“We’re not done yet! Let’s hear those cheers everyone!” Kanade’s voice echoed across the stage, it looked like the concert was a rousing success.
…or so everyone thought.
“What do you mean the suppression failed?! What happened?!” Genjuro questioned as the alarms went off in the laboratory, everyone was working their hardest to try to fix the issues but to no avail.
“The internal pressure is rising too fast for the suppressors, we’re trying to fix the problem but it might be too late!” One of the lab assistants said furiously typing over the panels. “At this rate, if we don’t do something then it’ll go out of control!” Date gritted his teeth as he typed into his own panel.
“The System isn’t responding! I’m trying to redirect some power towards containing the armor but—“ Date gasped as the relic in the center of the lab began glowing. “It’s no good, it’s going to awaken!”
“EVERYONE, GET DOWN NOW!” Genjuro yelled out before everything went white in the room.
BWOOM!
Before anyone could even register what just happened, an explosion went off that shook the arena. But worse than that, these slimy multi-colored creatures began to appear one after the other in groups. Everyone was frozen with fear before a voice broke out—
“It’s the Noise!”
Everyone began to run for their lives, some were desperate in trying to escape but to no avail and were turned to dust upon immediate contact. Guards in the area tried to evacuate everyone but there were some that weren’t so lucky.
Guren was running with Hitomi keeping a firm grip on his arm. amidst the running, he had heard the pleas of those who were caught by the noise, He didn’t want to hear all those screams of death.
“No! Please! Someone Help m—AUGH!”
“No! I want to keep living! Please!!!”
Why did this happen? On today of all days?! Guren wished this was just a nightmare. Before his fears and terror could overwhelm him, Guren found himself tripping over himself. Forcing his mom to look back at him. “Are you okay?!” She asked with urgency behind it.
“I-I’m sorry! I just—“ before he could continue, the ground from the upper floor collapsed and it just happened to be above them. Guren and Hitomi looked above with faces of horror.
Everything began to move in slow motion, Guren’s legs were frozen in place, he couldn’t move even when begging his legs to do so.
“I don’t want to die, I still want to make friends! I still wanted to try college, I wanted Dad and Mom to see how much I accomplished! I still want to—!!” his body was all of sudden wrapped in a warm embrace by his own mother. She was shielding him as the rubble came closer, her grip tightened around her son.
“Mom…?” Guren questioned slowly as he looked over at his mother. He was confused until he heard her utter one sentence.
“Live.”
“Wait, Mom! You can still—!!” His words fell on deaf ears as the rubble made contact and everything went dark.
Guren gasped, he sat up straight from his bed with a fearful expression, his breathing was rapid, it almost felt suffocating in a way. “It was just a dream…only a dream.” He turned and got off his bed and opened the window curtains. The brightness and glistening of the sun shone down on his room. “Guess today was bound to have a bad side somehow...” It was a different morning today with all those boxes packed in his room.
Today was the last day he’ll be living in this house. The reason? His dad recently got a job transfer back to Tokyo. Which meant this was the last time he’ll be in this city with the few friends he made here.
Guren took out his phone and scrolled through his messages, most of them were the friends he had made in the current he was in before the eventual move, most of the messages were wishes of good luck and promises to see each other again, it made him smile a tiny bit.
“Meow.” a black fur cat with a red scarf began rubbing itself on his leg, catching Guren’s attention. He knelt down and rubbed its head affectionately, this action caused the cat to softly purr in response.
“Sorry if I woke you up Max, it was another nightmare.” Guren chuckled. “But I’m fine, now honest.” It felt a little more realistic but he wouldn’t say it outright..anyways, his thoughts were halted when he heard someone knocking on his door.
“Guren, are you awake? We have a long drive ahead of us!”
“I’ll be there in a bit!” Guren called out to the voice that was behind the door. “Just grabbing some extra stuff for the stuff we’re taking with us first!”
“Just don’t take too many, the movers will take the rest of the stuff to the new house after we settle there!”
“Got it!” Guren waited til he stopped hearing his dad’s footsteps before looking at Max with a sigh.“Well Max? Guess we should get ready huh?”
“Meow.”
Once Max was inside his cage, Guren grabbed the handle and descended down from his room upstairs.
“Tenkai…”
“Huh?” Guren looked behind him, he could’ve sworn he had heard something whispering. “Could’ve sworn I heard a whisper..Max, did you hear anything?”
“Meow?”
…Okay, so maybe asking a Cat who can’t speak English if you were hearing things was a bad move. But what was that voice? Was it—?
“Guren! It’s time to go!”
“Sorry! I’ll be there now!” Guren sighed, that nightmare must’ve been messing with his head to the point he was hearing voices. Well, it’s better than everyone calling you cursed just for surviving a Noise disaster…
Not that it mattered, he’ll just have a normal school life ahead of him, right?
